The muffin from here was good, but the surly staff and countless warnings about cash only make the experience less than optimal here. The muffin was fairly crumbly and a tad on the dry side, but the flavor was strong and good. The staff who was slow and cranky turned me off though. I will sadly probably continue to patronize the friendly staff at the nearby Starbucks.

i love this bakery!!! i use to live in p lakes 27 yrs ago but then moved to cape may county where there is only ONE true bakery left! i missed this bakery, so every time i make a trip up here i have to go in stock up… one of my favorites is thier salt sticks they have on the weekends… but they do have the best dark jelly filled powdered donuts… i love thier walnut glazed coffee cake also… everytime i came here i was truly never dissappointed… chk it out

I work in Pompton Lakes and was searching for a bakery in order to purchase a strawberry shortcake birthday cake. I was a bit leery of this bakery after reading the previous reviews; however, I purchased a black and white and a linzer tort cookie in order to check it out. Both were excellent! I ordered the cake and picked it up today. It was fresh, delicious and beautifully decorated. The service was courteous and friendly as well. The store itself could use a face lift; perhaps a fresh coat of paint would do the trick…

Two stars is generous and I can’t give it. I agree with the other 2 reviews in that things here are STALE and that’s not the way a bakery should be! I have no problem driving to Mazurs for some good stuff, I’ll definitely never return to this bakery. I’m surprised they even stay open since anyone else I“ve spoken to, the first thing they say is «Stale.»

I am a lifetime resident of Pompton Lakes and remembered when this bakery was good. Now it seems that everything I get is stale — cake, bread, cookies etc. when my 10 yr old son doesn’t want to finish his cookie because «it’s too hard» there is a problem.
