Seven-Eleven Stores

Ahh… this location lives up to the traditional 7-​Eleven reputation of bad customer service from irritated and sullen attendants.
Hey, I’m not complaining. I’ve enjoyed each of my 7-​Eleven experiences through the years…
While the cashiers loudly scream and sass customers most commonly in Creole and occasionally in English about… who knows what? I, like the boss I am… get ignored by these wildly erratic creatures for I generally sneak in under their radar without uttering a word. I’m like a stealth ninja on a mission for their delicious M&M sugar cookies and of course the free freak shows between employee and customer (3 cookies for $ 1.00).
Overall: 7-​Eleven is one of the best convenient store chains — With a wide array of chips, beverages, candy, miscellaneous items like floss and even mood rings.

I usually keep breakfast items (mainly yogurt) in the fridge at my office. En route to work this morning, I realized that I hadn’t replenished my stock, and was going to be breakfastless (yes, I’ve decided that’s a word). In desperation, I pulled in here, thinking it would at least be faster than going on a Publix run. Wrong move.
I understand things will be more expensive at a convenience store… you know, for the (wait for it) convenience. What I didn’t understand was why almost every item I picked up, be it yogurt, milk or even DRY cereal, was past its expiration date. The yogurt and milk were about three days past due, which is not cool. Literally. So I thought I’d play it safe and grab one of those dry cereal cups… except they too were old (by about two weeks). Seriously? I searched behind the items and found ones that weren’t expired, but I’m willing to bet most people wouldn’t have checked.
I don’t expect the same degree of freshness from 7 – 11 as I would from Publix or Winn-​Dixie, and I get that occasionally things might slip under the radar… but c’mon, you can’t have consistently out-​of-​date food. That’s just gross.

Well lit, clean bathrooms and friendly service. Can’t beat it with a stick!
