Well when we come in from a day of fishing and tide is too low to get the boat on the trailer. It’s nice to roll up from a bad ass PAININTHEASSWITH A FLOATER to celebrate the day of a full days catch. Plus you catch you fillet they cook.

It was my first time visiting Sands Harbor. Everything was absolutely amazing. The food was simple and delicious. They know who they are and do it well. They had live music and beautiful scenery. You can eat, drink, enjoy the music and watch the boats pass. Our waiter, Jonathan, was super attentive and very personal. He added the icing to the cake. If you are looking for a laid back, top notch experience, this place is a your spot. Can’t wait to return

Came here after the boat show and the vibes were very festive. The place is in a great location, the view and the whole setup is really outstanding and with a band or other favorable music it gets anyone in a 5 O’Clock somewhere mood! The drinks and food are solid, selection is good, fair and what we had was fresh as well. The thing that seems to ruin the experience in most places in S. Florida is the service… seems the worst in the industry have all agreed to join in forces of the Dark side and punish us here… don’t want to keep repeating this matter, but could we finally hire staff who care a little bit and have a some sense of what proper service is about?! So, back to the basics again… Otherwise, I believe it’s worth going if you are in the neighborhood.

This is a dive bar establishment that has been in Pompano Beach for years. Unfortunately, the mentality has changed but the atmosphere has not. You are no longer welcome to come here on a boat to have cocktails as a local resident. Once this place decides to start welcoming locals again I will gladly come back, but until then I will no longer support this establishment. The service is terrible and the food is even worse.

I love this place! I have been coming for years whenever I visit Pompano Beach. The servers are fantastic always… The view is beautiful, and the atmosphere is super laid-back. The food is dive bar food, not the best, but fun while drinking! I love Bobby and Sam. Great servers!

Really awful service. Marc and Bill were the two bartenders that we had. They both really went out of their way to give horrible service. Would not come back.

I can’t tell you all how I love love love this place! It reminds me of the old days when I first came to Fort Lauderdale in the 1980’s! Great atmosphere! Sometimes it is nice to go to a place that is exactly like the old days! I came here on my birthday! It was fantastic! The food was great! We had clam strips, a pound of peel and eat shrimp and a dozen wings! Awesome! I had the best day! Looking forward to going back alot more! I highly recommend this spot to those of you that like the old days! I doubt you will find anyone on their cell phones here! Great outdoor patio with music and fun! Also there is a fantastic view of the intercoastal where you can see all the best yachts pass by. FUN!

Good service, terrible food. Lived here for 45+ years. Tolerated it. Tonight’s food was an embarrassment to our community.

I went on a Wednesday night around 8pm. They had a band playing good 80 – 90’s rock. There is a large bar to sit at or high top tables along the dock. They have a pool. During HH, drinks are discounted. They have their own food menu, plus you can order from Rusty Hook Tavern next door. The food I saw come out looked amazing. I had a Miami Vice frozen drink that was quite tasty. They are known for their rum runners. You can dock your boat and enjoy a drink or two. It is a casual atmosphere. There were locals and hotel guests at the bar. You can park for free in the attached hotel parking lot. Overall, a neat place to pretend you are on vacation or bring your visitors.

This place has really grown on me. Its not fancy. It is just laid back Key West style on the water. One of the last of its kind in North Broward. Always boat parking, pool for kids and you, and really decent food. Its not five star Michelin its five star sloppy joes or hogs breath. The new tent on the north dock is great for parties, we had one two weeks ago. Most of the time the wake is kept at a minimum however sometimes you will get a yahoo that knocks the boats around.

Fun atmosphere and great location. Much older crowd though. Extremely relaxing. I ordered a strawberry margarita and was not disappointed. I loved that I was able to relax literally right on the intercostal. Will return if I’m in the area again.

My family and I decided to eat at the sands after climbing the hillsboro lighthouse. The atmosphere is nice since you get to look out and see different boats go by. You can also pull your boat up and have lunch here. We had a party of 7, which you know sometimes when you have alot of people in your party something will be wrong or take too long, which did happen. It took 20 minutes for my nephew to get his calamari after we all got our food. The upside to it is that he loved it and wants to go back to eat the calamari more often now. I had the mahi Caesar wrap which was okay. I have had better. My sisters chicken Caesar was a little dry. The Chicago dogs my grandmother had were okay as well. There sweet potato fries were nice and sweet and cooked right. I had a Rita with no salt which I thought was pretty good. My Mom had the same thing but with salt on the rim and hers was very weak. If you want to go where you can hang out at the pool, eat and drink and watch the gorgeous boats go by why not give this place a try and see what you think for yourself.

The view is great along with the Mahi sandwich. The bar loses three stars because they serve their wine, beer and drinks in cheap plastic dentist cups. The house excuse is no glass by the pool. Did they not know Walmart serves good plastic wine, beer and margarita glasses for a dollar. Total disrespect for quality service to the customer. That’s what happens when you have a corporation running a bar. Total disconnect.

Great place for drinks, food and fun! I come here often with my friends and we always have a great time. It is right on the water so a great atmosphere! Sometimes they have live music and that just adds to the fun.

It seems the place change name. I guess the name is «the rusty hook Tavern» The waiter told me they open today with a new fancy chef. The place is all new with a typical marina restaurant look. New rusty look. The Chef is good and the servers really give a good insight of the menu. My fiancé and I had the appetizers«crispy octopus» and the«smoke beef tartare» Both were awesome. You can tell from the presentation they are doing their best. The main courses we had were the pan seared daily catch(sword fish) and«the five spice salmon». And they both were great. Then me and Tara had the White Russian chocolate cake. It was perfect to set and keep the sweet and sexy mood all the way home ;)

Don’t come for fine cuisine or 5 star-service, this place is about cheap beer/drinks, music and a laid-back ambiance. With a large bar on the intercoastal, several tables dockside and a pool also overseeing the intercoastal The Sands is a perfect place to grab a drink and chill while watching the boats go by and enjoy the beautiful weather, or stop by after boating and take a dip in the pool. The place itself is a bit rundown, but they started remodeling indoors and hopefully will also update the outdoor area. They offer a food menu with items like wings(which are pretty descent), burgers and sandwiches, if you are looking for top notch food go across the street to Houstons, if you are looking to just chill in your bathing suit and flips dockside then this is the perfect place. This is mostly a local spot, some of the clientele tend to be older but there is usually a nice mix.
