Poirier’s Service Center

I called around to try to get in for a wheel alignment last minute and no one had time for me until I called Poirier’s Service Center. They said they were busy but could squeeze me in. I arrived and told them I needed a wheel alignment because my car was shaking when I was driving. They educated me that it may not be a wheel alignment that I needed but something else. They would take a look at it first (for free) and tell me whats wrong with the car before they did anything. Well low and behold, my tire was about to explode. He brought me back to show me the tire and saw a huge gash in the front tire. At first I thought «oh great, I don’t have time to shop around for new tires and bring my car back some other time, i need it fixed NOW». The owner said he knew a guy not too far from there and priced out some tired for me. He then jumped in his truck, got me my tires and put them on all within the hour!
They pride themselves on «doing the right thing» They could have taken my car back to do the wheel alignment just like I asked and be done with me and move on to the next customer but they didn’t. They took the time to educate me instead of just telling me I need this fixed.
I will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. (They also have incentives on referrals)

I’ve been bringing my Honda Fit here for the past 4 years after reading all the great reviews and I am glad I did. Ken and Dave are friendly and run the cleanest and fairest shop I’ve been to, and have prevented me from paying for unnecessary maintenance that other shops have tried to up-​sale me on. They will always call you before doing an additional work and tell you honestly what the recommended course of action is. What more is there to say, they are the best and I recommend them to anyone who knows how hard it is to find an honest mechanic these days.

I will do my best here to be non judgemental. Like that old TV show used to say: «just the facts, Ma’am»”. Not too long ago, there was am elderly woman, nearly 85 years old, who was driving her friend“s car home from work, when the car began running erratically. Her friend had read reviews about this garage and recommended it so she went there.
What did the car need: new spark plug wires. What work did this garage perform? This list is nothing short of incredulous: new brakes… new timing belt… head gasket… on and on. Nearly $ 1400 in unauthorized unnecessary repairs.
Unauthorised? Counter to Florida law, the garage gave no signed written estimate. Had no permission to do the work. In fact the car did not even belong to this elderly woman. They simply performed unneeded work, then refused to release the car until the bill was paid. The law requires a signed written estimate for repairs over fifty dollars. These folks had nothing signed. They had no written estimate. They simply performed unauthorized unneeded work and then billed for it. This is illegal.
Unnecessary repairs? We are all familiar with the standard mechanic lines… «„been in business xxxi years“»…”“based on my professional judgment it needed… «„…”“you are not a mechanic so you cannot be the judge here…“». Very hard to argue with a mechanic and win, on the subject of their alleged repairs.
So the elderly woman did not argue. In the glove box of the car was the service record of the car. For the previous six years, since her friend had owned the car, like a clock it had been meticulously maintained. Those brakes this shop had just replaced? The factory authorized dealer had replaced only three months ago. The timing chain, which is warranted for 100.000 (the car had 91,000) and this shop had just replaced… It had been replaced by the factory authorized dealership less than four months, and less than 4000 miles, previous. The head gasket? The car exhibited no signs of needing a head gasket. All new brakes? Again… in writing… from the authorized factory dealership, less than six months, less than 4000 miles, previous. $ 1400 dollars worth of unauthorized unneeded repairs. There was not one repair this shop performed which was needed. It was all there… six years of documented service records.
Had did she know she needed spark plug wires? Driving the car home the car exhibited the car refused to run correctly. It exhibited the same exact problem as when she had brought the car in to this garage. Fearing for her safety on the highway she returned to the garage and demanded to know why the car had not been repaired. Only then did the garage perform the only repair the car needed: spark plug wires.
When confronted, this shop first denied everything. See paragraph 4. After hemming and hawing, the garage agreed to refund ½ of the money, but only because «you got me there» over the unauthorized repairs without a signature. The elderly woman asked if, money aside, did the owner of the garage feel something morally wrong had taken place here? I mean… $ 1400 dollars worth of unauthorized unneeded work performed on an elderly woman’s car like that… and the real need repair hadn’t even been made. Didn’t he feel maybe someone had taken advantage of someone? Wasn’t she owed an apology? Wasn’t this morally wrong?

These guys were amazing they replaced three times that were in horrific condition. I had no idea that the had gone as bad as they were and I was notified that Firestone could not have made the tire changes that they had said due to the condition they had been in, I am currently awaiting reimbursement due to Dave’s advice. While waiting my car to be fixed Dave took me and my wife home out of the kindness of his heart not that he had too, we didn’t ask and would have been fine waiting but he went out of his way, even though he did not have to. This place is amazing, and fair, they don’t try to sell you needless items and understand that people are on a budget, so they tell you what needs to be fixed now and what can get fixed later (if you’re on a budget). I didn’t have much contact with Mr. Poirier but even though he and I didn’t meet, I will say that Mark and Dave were outstanding guys. Mark is the short guy, Dave is taller they both alternate between the front desk. I will be coming back for future but as it stand my car is in great working condition and it also explains why my traction was bad one rainy day. Thank you guys.

I know lot’s of people have poor experiences at auto repair places, but you won’t here. Ken and Dave have always made it a great experience even when they have bad news about my older truck. I’ve never felt pressured and even get a follow up call to make sure I’m happy a few days later.

very reliable mechanics. they diagnosed my air conditioning problem and solved it under budget and in record time. the shop is clean and the mechanics are trustworthy. I hope I don’t have to go back anytime soon but if I have any problems with my car or if anyone I know has problems and asks if I know of a good mechanic I will definitely suggest they go to Poirier’s Service Center

These guys are great. Took my car in for maintenance and they were informative honest and fair priced. I think I’ve found what I’ve been looking for in a mechanic. My car floats now! Thank you!

I can’t tell you enough great things about this place! After moving to the area and having a terrible experience at another mechanic the search was on. After seeing the off the chart reviews for this place I was a bit skeptical at first but I kept an open mind. I had to try this place after it was told to me that thus place was the real McCoy… I had an appointment for my car because I was having issues and set it up for Friday morning. My car decided to break down on Tuesday and I called up the shop for some help. I spoke to Ken the owner and he was so helpful in getting me a tow to the shop. I checked in with Lisa at the front desk who was great and very helpful with my situation. I was told that they could probably look at my car the next day as it was very busy. No issues! I was amazed at getting a call from Dave regarding my issues with the car. He was extremely helpful into what was wrong. I told him no rush and because they squeezed me in I can have the car sit till Friday. I get a call the end of business day on Wednesday from Dave and said my car was done! I was in shock I think I fell off my chair! I told him I’d they didn’t mind I live 20 miles away if they could store it over night and I would pick it up in the morning. Again no issues! I picked up my car and dealt with Lisa again for payment which is a delight. Then Dave who I met for the 1^st time who worked on my car took 30 minute’s of his time to show Mr and explain everything. He even showed me the bad parts he took out of my car. What an amazing experience I had at that shop! I then get a call a few days later from the owner Ken who just wanted to follow up and see how my car was doing??? Talk about 1^st class service! My car is running perfect and they have about customer for life! If you need an unbelievable honest mechanic this is the place to go hands down!

These guys run a top notch auto care center – and it’s clearly also about «people care». Their waiting area provides a clean, cozy area to relax. The interaction with their team (unlike most other auto shops) is very straightforward and you feel respected throughout the dialogue. I’ve spent about $ 5k since March on different vehicles for service and wish I could replay all of those engagements but this time at Poirier’s.

This was actually the best mechanic experience I have ever had. I guess that is partially because they didn’t charge me anything. I had a loose tensioner on my power steering and they just fixed, free of charge and said have a great day. So awesome. also really friendly on the phone etc. I went there bc friends recommended them. Ken was the guy I talked with. Great work guys, ill be back! But hopefully not too soon. :)

I feel like I’ve betrayed Hardees Tire in Hollywood, but I had to get the get a new tire one day, and these guys are in close proximity. The Google reviews were great, so I made the appointment. I’m glad I did.
Ken the owner is a friendly, honest man and his shop is organized and immaculate. The service mechanics don clean uniforms, and are helpful and very hard at work.
They replaced my tire and the charge was very reasonable.

This is the only place I go for service on my car. Ken Poirier is the owner and an honest Mechanic. If he, or any of his employees say you need something done, you need it! He will not fix stuff that does not need fixing, unlike the chain service centers out there. The ONLY downside, is he is not open on the weekends, but for an honest Mechanic who won’t rip me off, I’m willing to work with his schedule!
