I went there with my boyfriend on Friday night. We sat outside. It was beautiful night. Other than that everything else was bad. Service, drinks, salads, and main entrees. I know it was Friday night but we waited for our food for 40 + min. Salads were not fresh at all.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. no wonder why they closed. We ate here right after we moved into town. Spent a few hours at the beach and them tried Franks because we felt like Italian. We were so sorry we did. The service was just okay. So was the food. But the worst part was that my sister-in-law, who had stomach surgery and can’t eat much. decided to share a dish with her friend. They charged her a NON-DISCLOSED $ 8 «sharing fee». Had she known, she could have order an appetizer or slice of pizza but they didn’t give her an opportunity. Again, sad to see an empty spot near the beach, but not surprised they shut down. Hope something really nice comes in there, I’d be a frequent visitor.

Nice to see this place finally folded up like a cheap suit. Hopefully it will be replaced by someone who cares. The service here has always been horrible and the food mediocre.

I’m really surprised at all the negative reviews. We had a party of 9 including two small children. We sat outside and our waiter and servers were always attentive and nice. Maybe we came on a good night! They do play standard cheesy Italian music from outdoor speakers, which I love but it could have been at a lower volume. The pizza wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was thin and crispy if nothing else. The star of the show was linguini(or something– I had been drinking) with mussels and clams and shrimp and a lobster tail in a red sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the seafood was fresh. Delicious!

For the amount of money you pay here there are way better and more authentic places out there. We had the Mozzarella caprese for a starter, and only received 3 of them served on iceberg lettuce. I had the shrimp and clams on linguine. I was not impressed. Portion was small and there was only 2 shrimp and 2 clams. Not worth the $ 18. Woman had a salad. She was not into there overpriced menu. She would have had the Raviolis but not at $ 18. Really $ 18 for ravioli. Garlic rolls/bread was not fresh, seemed to be reheated. Server was nice. There was an entertainer playing a guitar and singing. Not sure why he was singing in Spanish at an Italian restaurant. Definitely a place for French Canadians to go. I am not sure why there so many 4 and 5 star ratings from others, unless they are used to eating this lower quality food. We are not cheap by any means just want what we pay for. Head west a little on Atlantic to Gianni’s now that’s good Italian food. I would not be willing to try this place again. Maybe a bad night for the cook? Overpriced for the quality

I’m a pretty generous Unilocaler, but this place was terrible. The pizza was about as good as a bargain microwave variety and their stuffed artichokes… more like charcoaled artichokes for $ 12. Avoid this place! Worst experience in a long time, the staff were unhelpful and rude as well!

Warning: there are two Unilocal profiles for Frank’s. I believe this is more accurate one because the only one only had three reviews which with five stars over all. My guess is in your profile was made to start from scratch. Nice try guys This place gets two stars. The food was decent but The service was terrible. My in-laws own a condo right around the corner and have been coming here for years. They said the service here has never been so bad. Which is unfortunate because they just fixed up the façade and the sidewalk. We all ordered the lunch special but the waitress never brought out the bread and salad. She never came back to check on us or offer us more drinks(we definitely needed another round of beers). When we asked her about it she asked us if we wanted it now and we said it was too late. We had already finished our pasta dishes. At that point she rolled her eyes and walked away without offering an apology. After we were done with our meal she brought us the bill without offering us any coffee or dessert. We called her out on this too so she took our dessert and coffee order and left. she had another waitress serve for the rest of the meal. After all this nonsense my father-in-law had had enough and brought it up with the manager there. At the end of it all we didn’t get comped anything not even one drink. It wasn’t even extremely busy that day. Maybe the waitress had a bad day but if this type of service is consistent then the owners are losing a lot of money in the long run. I Watch enough bar rescue to know that. Next time we’ll just order takeout

I searched and searched for a place near my hotel where I could get a halfway decent meal and drink a glass of wine. There were only two other tables with people at them on a Tuesday evening around 7. I chose to sit at the bar as I was dining alone. They quickly brought me a glass of water and bread. I only ate the garlic rolls but trust me, I ate them all. They were absolutely fantastic. I ordered the Calamari alla Frank with a glass of house Cab. Be warned: it is far spicier than you would imagine. It is fried calamari sauteed with tomatoes, garlic, jalepeno peppers, and a marinara sauce. It is amazing! If you are willing, try the appetizer version of it and share it with your dining companions. The restaurant itself has a very intimate, romantic feel. If I lived here, it would be my first pick for a special night with that special someone.

Me and my wife tried Frank’s for dinner on vacation. The service lacked from the beginning, the waiter that seated us forgot to bring us bread. I finished my beverage sat the empty glass at the edge of the table. Dinner arrived, no refill on my drink!!! The waiter vanished after dinner was dropped off. There was a problem with my wifes meal and we had to track someone down to fix it. My meal was a basic Italian dish and I could think of plenty of other places that I could go and enjoy a better tasting dish for less and without the crappy service. ***************VERYPOORSERVICE******************** The waiter finally showed up standing over my empty beverage glass and asked us if we wanted to buy dessert or coffee. I responded no and asked for the check. I paid and left this place very disgusted and feeling discriminated against. BTW if not Italian or a local Frank’s could care less about serving you like their own. My advise, don’t waste your money at this place go somewhere else. I will NEVER go to Frank’s again and will do my best to inform others as well.

Good salad. Ok Sicilian pizza… not a lot of flavor to the sauce. We ate in the smaller dining area by the take-out counter and it was incredibly noisy, as it’s a small room with only a few tables. I would probably rate this place 3 – 4 stars, except that the service was incredibly slow. It took 30 minutes for 1 pizza. Once we finished our meal, it took 30 minutes to get the check. and the waiter only had one other table.

Can I give this place 0 stars? AWFUL!!! We’ve heard good things about this place so makes us wonder what happened. We sat on the casual pizza side and there were 3 other tables with guests. One table had a hair in their bread. The other table seemed to be taking forever to get their food. We started with a friendly server but then there was some sort of altercation that took place in front of us where a mean server swooped in and declared she would now be our waitress. She was downright nasty and completely unpleasant and the whole situation was unpleasant. We started with the caprese salad which came with 3 slices of hard cheese and unripe tomatoes. For $ 10 I could have made an incredible salad. We ordered a large pizza and, having seen our neighbors pizza come out, we asked the waitress to make it well done which seemed to really inconvenience her. I then saw her go over to the table next to us that had been waiting forever and tell them they made the wrong pizza and asked if they would like it anyway?! YIKES! The couple said no, they would like what they ordered even though they had already been waiting 45 mins. Things were looking bleak! I really wanted to leave at this point. We waited 45 minutes and finally the waitress bring us our pizza and says«this isn’t well done. do you want it?». Why did you bring it out if you know it’s not well done? We sent it back to go in the oven. Another 15 minutes later she brings it back out and it’s still doughy and doesn’t have a crisp crust. At this point, I gave up! I asked for a check and we paid(aka wasted money) for the caprese and left. The people next to us still hadn’t gotten their food and practically applauded us for leaving. Worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. On a bright note, we went next door to 9Face Sushi and it was fabulous! They even gave us a complimentary spicy white fish salad. We were in and out of there in 20 mins. That’s how you do it!!!

Not very good. They are close to me. However their pizza is very generic and the meals feel frozen/microwaved. Still nice to have pizza at the beach, but Frank’s needs to step it up a few notches!

Frank’s has excellent pizza and is a great place to go for a sit-in dinner or for a quick takeout meal. The pizza comes in huge floppy slices with very thin, but not crispy, bottom crust. The pizza makers are extremely generous with their toppings and really load up each slice. This is a nice contrast to the most places, which tend to be stingy despite charing so much for extra toppings. Frank’s uses quality cheese and toppings as well, which comes through in the flavor of each bite. The small dining room contains about 10 tables and there are about 5 patio tables outside the shop. There is also a small entranceway where takeout orders can be picked up and pizza can be purchased by the slice.

I see some good reviews here, but it apparently wasn’t our night. Both of us had veal, and it was tough. I should have been able to cut it with a fork. I had veal with some kind of sauce and rosemary– I don’t remember what it was called. It had a musty flavor, and way too much rosemary. I believe it’s one of those herbs that goes a long way. I ended up adding Parmesan cheese, and that helped some. The side of spaghetti was so-so; I make a much better sauce myself. I don’t know the waiter’s name, but I do remember his face was covered with sweat almost the whole time we were there – Yuck! I hope he didn’t drip… Needless to say, we won’t be back. Tonight we went to Umberto’s, which is close by on Atlantic. Now THAT place is a whole different story! I’m going to review that one next.

Restaurants by the ocean never fail to fail. They’re renovating the outside of this place and the entire Pompano Beach so hopefully(but not likely) this place will step their game up. Came in here for a sandwich, needed something quick before work, and it was flat out horrible. The entire package of an awfullness: stale bread, weak toppings, dry thick poor quality meat, and even if the meat was good they skimped big time. The slices here are also just meh at best. If you can’t make a sandwich how can you be trusted to make a little more complex Italian dish? Franks is the equivalent to those fugazi Italian restaraunts in Deerfield Beach, cranking out sub par meals because they know they have a prime location. They have live music outside on weekends, and the music isnt great but its better than the food.

We had just arrived in Ft. Lauderdale and decided to take a ride to Frank’s based on a recommendation. I must say we were a bit leary at first but quickly changed our minds. Our waiter, Salvatore was gracious and charming. We had a huge bowl of pasta fagioli that was delicious. Then zucchini parmigiana, different and excellent. The shrimp piccata and gnocchi bolognese were also good. The finally, a homemade ricotta cheese cake was so moist and delectable that we took 2 pieces to go. This was a pleasant hidden gem.

What great dishes I have had here! Where can you get tripe so melt-in-your-mouth good?! I mentioned on one visit here, that I’d enjoyed a dish in Venice which was a(local) shrimp and zucchini and I think asparagus with a fresh tagliatelle and the chef made it for me. and it was spectacular! It is as if I were a great cook myself and wished to cook ANYthing and… Presto! the happy waiter brings it to me! Dishes from the menu are varied and so tasty; no need to create anything else, really. Frank’s snapper Adriatica, snapper, artichoke hearts, mushrooms and a buttery glaze… soo satisfying. It’s wonder ful and comfortable here. Loved it! P. S. Did I mention Calamari Frank’s…ummm! Pss Wide outdoor promenade seating is new and so beachy

I haven’t been to the restaurant, my review is solely on delivery, which was very fast. Excellent food, the Calzones are excellent, fresh bready dough, yummy tomato sauce. I have never been disappointed with their food, it has always been tasty, fresh and reasonably priced.

2 large freshly made in front of my eyes pizza pies, one pepperoni and one plain for 26 dollars? Not bad, but not that good The pizza was good– but the dough could’ve had more flavor… maybe if it were a wood or brick oven… but its just a regular oven here there could’ve been more sauce– the second pie was slightly dry. only slightly! fresh ingredients and a great owner who listens thats whats great about this place really a 3.5-er
