I’m assuming we have to get up and order at the bar because they don’t come over to the table we’ve sat here for a few minutes with no one acknowledging us We moved to the bar and abandonded our high top but that was fine. I brought a friend that had never been here and he was inpressed with the whole concept. I got a 4 flight: Gosegetter, charisma Belgian, coconut vanilla moo doo stout, underwater gazebo porter. The gose was tart as it always is, it’s one of my favorites, the Charisma really had a bite to it but I had a salty snack with me and after I ate the salt and drank the Charisma it almost tasted sweet. The underwater porter has a great full taste and it’s smooth for a dark beer. I saved the coconut vanilla stout for last. The coconut vanilla stout is good and a little bold with hints of vanilla. I enjoyed it. All in all a good spot to stop before dinner for a flight. And I turned on my friend joey who had never been here before. Of course I’ll be back.

I dig! I’ve been here a total of three times. The first was for a kick off event for the craft beer week back in December of last year, the second was for beer bingo, and the third was an impromptu stop on the way back home the other night. Each time has been relaxing and fun. So, I’m a big fan of their Gosegetter Gose. It’s one of their most popular beers and I’ll definitely be down to have some again after November hits :) I had a Groupon that I purchased a while back for two flights with two souvenir shot glasses to take home for $ 12 and my husband wanted to redeem it before it expired. He liked the Hop of the Muffin and Cypress Creek that he tried the other night. The other ones were so-so for him. He couldn’t even get the second flight and said to give it to someone else or the bartenders could have it on the house for him since he was so full from dinner. There is a list online that you can check out before you go to see what’s on tap. It varies daily, so what might be available today may not be tomorrow. They also have beer bingo, board games, live music, and special events going on there periodically. Become a fan on their Facebook page to keep up-to-date with it. Sometimes they have a food truck outside you can order from if you want some grub or you can order from a local vendor inside if there isn’t one outside. It’s a 50 – 50 chance with that. If it wasn’t for the craft beer week, I probably would have never have found out about this place. The staff and vibe is very welcoming. You can stay for an hour or five and they would still love you the same. It’s worth checking out if you’re in the Pompano Beach area and you got time to kill for a flight or two. Go thirsty and leave happy.

Nice place to relax, have fun… They have board games, jenga, and a shuffle board. Great variety of beers. The gose is super sour… Yummy. Almost every day they have an activity or food vendors. If the beer is extra good, they sell out of it quick. Limited batch brews. I really, really, really like the ODIN’S REVENGE. If you love beer, you should visit Banging Banjo. It is a little out of the way, in a warehouse plaza… Well worth the journey!

Awesome staff, awesome beers. I’ve been here a few times and the beers and service have never disappointed. They always have something new and exciting on tap that I’ve never had. The owners are also super involved in community events, and beer shares. Great place to bring a small group of friends, enjoy some unique beers, and play some classic board games. Bring the dogs too if you want! Really feels like a home town bar, even though it’s nestled in an industrial park. If it’s your first time, be sure to get a flight, they come out on a banjo shaped platter to which adds to the aesthetics of a good craft beer.

Great place to hang out if you like unique beers. They have about a dozen beers that keep changing. For a variety try the banjo flight. Six beers for $ 8. If you get hungry there is a food truck out front. Tonight I trivia night so it should be fun. Bar tenders are very hipster and friendly. They will tell you what ever you want to know about their beer. Best of all, grab a couple growlers to go. I had a poker party and they were a big hit.

Driving to Bangin’ Banjo Brewing Company I thought two things: 1. This place looks like I could get murdered. 2. I think this could be the backdrop of some adult film I may or may not have seen. Honestly, when you’re driving here for the first time you’re almost positive that you’re lost. Nestled in an Industrial Park of sorts is this brewery in Pompano Beach. You will not see a big sign for it so keep your eyes peeled. Don’t turn around if you think you’re completely lost– you’re almost there. The inside: It’s a pretty cool spot! Not huge so if you go during a big event or busy night it can feel a little overwhelming. Because of the size it gets really loud. The inside has a cool vibe to it. They have games for you to play. Longer tables for bigger groups so you have space to spread out and play. The beer: How do you go to a brewery and not drink a beer? I tried the Gosegetter Gose. And for someone who isn’t really a beer guy, I like it. It’s a little tart, but I like the idea of the orange mixed in with the German Ale. Next time I need to try their flights. They offer 4, 5, and 6 flight options which 6 flights being $ 8. Perfect for anyone wanting to sample or learn about beer. They also have trivia nights on Thursday which is cool and can get very competitive. What’s missing is food. Yes, they offer food trucks outside, but there is no in-house food to be had. The focus is beer, yes I know, but I like to eat just as much as I like to drink. I really liked this place. Totally not what I was expecting when I got here but definitely a pleasant surprise.

Bangin’ Banjo opened up while I was still traveling in Asia and I had been wanting to try them out. They are located in Pompano which now has two breweries open and is close to many other breweries now open around Boynton. Again, I was excited to check them out, but I was looking for an excuse to be in that area since they are a bit far for me. Fortunately, I had an event at another brewery to attend so I decided to start my evening at the Bangin’ banjo. I arrived about 4PM on a Thursday and I was the only customer so I bellied up to the bar. Since it was my first time, I opted for a flight to try as many beers as possible. They were all so delicious that I ended up ordering a second flight of beers too! The flight is cute as it come served on a wooden banjo. I found the flight system to be interesting. They provide you with a card to write down the beers you would like. Then the beers you wrote down on the card by number align to the numbering when it comes out so you can keep track of which beers you are drinking. They also have clever options with the flight in which you can order a flight of 4, 5 or 6 beers. I thought all of the beers were very good! I think their beers are easily in the best five tasting of all breweries in south Florida’s tri county. The pumpkin beer was wonderfully originally as it was made as a pumpkin porter. My favorite beer far and away was the Jodi’s Banana Pale Ale. Simply delicious! I even order a pint of it too! The black IPA was quite good too! I am not typically a gose drinker, but I thought it was unique for a brewery to have a gose as one of their flagship beers. The brewery itself was great. Very wide open and spacious. You can walk right into the back where they brew the beers. The owner had collected his empty beer bottles for years and put them to good use by lining the entire brewery with his empty bombers. Finally, the staff here was great. My bartender was the owner’s brother. He was a cool guy and good to talk to while drinking some beers. I got to meet the owner a couple of hours later at nearby 26 Degrees. He was also a great guy and very passionate about his beers. I have been back to the brewery numerous times since I wrote this review way back when I first visited. I am happy to say I know one of their owners, Adam, and he is an awesome, generous guy making delicious beers!

Wow! This could be my top 3 favorite local brewery. After I attended the Unilocal Local Beer Week event here, I know I had to come back and try more of their beers. Even though it’s a bit out there from my house, I knew it’d be worth my trip. I decided to invite a few friends here to hang out on a Friday evening. We arrived a little early and the place was already packed. The atmosphere was great and everybody was having a good time. And especially the live band that was playing was terrific. We sat down and I knew I had to go for the flight so I get to try all the different kind of beers. And it’s a great deal; 6 for $ 8.00? I am sold. I love IPAs, so naturally I picked two of them on my list of 6. Both Hop of the Muffin and the Belgium IPA were great. I also selected other lager like the Gosegetter Gose. Both were light body flavored and delicious. The staff was pretty friendly and helped me making my selection of beers in my flight. I’d say its definitely a cool place to hang out with friends while have a couple of beers. They don’t serve food here, but there was a food truck outside which my friends told me they served pretty good food. They also got a lot of games to keep the people entertained. Can’t wait to come back again!

Getting on the Bangin’ Banjo fan-train is a bit difficult for me. We arrived before the crowd on a Friday night to grab a table for our party of four. We weren’t sure if they had table service or not so finding out the hard way we decided to wait thinking someone would come by and explain to us the process since it was not very busy and still early on. After no one came by we decided to go up and order at the bar. We knew we wanted a Flight so we were advised to fill out one of their Flight List Cards so we would know exactly what was in each spot on our Banjo Flight. The theme of the Banjo is pretty cool and it makes for a fun Flight! While going through their beers and picking which ones we wanted to try, we found difficulty. I’m not sure if it was due to them being out of two listed or they just are not our kind of craft beers. Six for $ 8 was a great deal and gave us the opportunity to try each one of their brews that we thought sounded enticing. Our Flight consisted of –Gosegetter Gose: More of a Sour Beer with a Tart/Sweet taste. –Cypress Creek Cream Ale: Surprisingly my pick out of the 6! Not too creamy with a slightly hoppy finish. –Judy’s Amber Ale: A stronger Amber without the high percentage. –Hop of the Muffin American IPA: My husbands pick out of the 6. –Brother Banjo Belgium IPA: Our least favorite being harshly hoppy and too sweet. –D.H. Endurance Potion Belgium Blonde: Light with a Floral aftertaste. The theme of the beers seemed to be on a sweeter side; not my thing. Also, note that if you order Cabernet it will come out nice and cold from the fridge. Now for the ambiance and customer service. I feel as if these can go hand in hand together when the employees are not very personable. Each time anyone from our table went up to retrieve a new beer it would take forever. The staff was not quick to acknowledge us and would take just whoever they looked at first; not necessarily the person that has been standing there the longest. Their Brewery is on the smaller side but with a very open main room. They have games you can play and difference sizes of tables; some high tops, regular 4 person tables, a short bar and long picnic style seating. The inside was very clean and it was nice to be able to see the brewery while sitting in the main area. Currently they do not serve food but while we were there Tucker Dukes had a Pop-Up Kitchen outside serving up some of their menu favorites. Overall, I was not overly excited about any of their beers and probably wouldn’t travel to visit again but had a nice time there with friends before our main event.

This place is now officially my favorite brewery in South Florida… the standard by which all other breweries for me are now compared. I’m so glad I discovered this place, thanks to Unilocal’s Local Beer Week promotion back in December. I don’t just love it because it’s close to my house(although that certainly helps), but because the beers are fantastic, the employees are very friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back and fun. I already mentioned the Gosegetter Gose in my previous review, but their flavored options are even better. Jessica G. and I checked out their Anything Gose fest, when they had all of their varieties available, and go figure: we liked ALL of them. It was great to determine the dominant flavors in each beer(some of the options included Peach Green Tea, Pomegranate Hibiscus, Strawberry Basil, and Cucumber Mint). For example, the Cucumber Mint — which I was sure I wasn’t going to enjoy — tasted more like a pickle, which I actually liked. Of the nine different flavor options, my favorite was the Pomegranate Hibiscus, which they actually have on tap right now(for a limited time). The bartenders and owners are down to earth, and I think at this point they recognize my friends and me since we’re here rather frequently :) One reason to keep coming back: they line up some great events to keep things interesting. The other night, they had«Beer Bingo», which was free to play. Rather than yelling out letters and numbers, they had sheets with the logos of different breweries, and you used bottlecaps to play. The prizes were either a free pint or flight per game. They had a fundraiser for an animal rescue group recently as well(oh yeah, and they’re dog friendly! I need to bring my dog in here soon, since it’s fun to see pups in a brewery). Every Thursday, they have trivia here, and Erika(the host) is awesome. It’s worth following Bangin’ Banjo on Facebook to keep track of their events. It’s funny to think I never really cared much for beer before Unilocal BPB. The most adventurous I ever got before was Yuengling(not knocking it, by the way… it’s my favorite domestic beer). I’m grateful for the opportunity to have discovered new brews from the craft beer scene down here, and while I might still be picky, I’ve happened upon beers I now really enjoy… especially at Bangin’ Banjo.

During YLBW( Unilocal’s Local Beer Week) last month I tried to take advantage of the 50% off flights at as many brewery’s as possible and Bangin’ Banjo Brewing Company was one of them. They are literally down the street from me by just a few miles too so that is a huge bonus! I have been a few times now and I really like this new brewery. There is so many new one’s popping up all over the place now but BBB is a stand out for me, especially since they serve their flights on cool boards shaped like Banjo’s! I would give one tip to them to leave their BBB sign by the road so people know where to turn in(it wasn’t there on my second visit) and to maybe make it a bit larger. BBB and many other new breweries are in these garage/commercial areas and in BBB case, way down the road and in the back so it can be a challenge to find them on your first visit. The signs are a BIG help! Parking is plentiful. When you walk in everything is wood and the bar is in the back left corner. I like the big open space and layout of they place. There are several cool games to play and picnic tables set up so you can get a group together easily for beer and boards games(which we have on a few occasions). It feels like you are hanging at a friend’s house that just so happens to have great beer lol! They have always had good music playing, so the vibe here is great! Staff has always been super friendly as well. The Beer I have tried several beers here and I definitely have a few favorites. The Cypress Creek Cream Ale was one of them, very smooth and easy to drink, I think most cream ales I tend to really like. Moodo Voodoo Milk Stout was dark and delicious and it went well with the chocolate chip cookies I brought on one of my visits. The Gose Getter was more of a sour beer and probably my second favorite beer. The cream ale and the gose were both great beers and perfect for hanging out and drinking. The darker beers I find that I can only drink one of them and then I am feeling very full for the rest of the night. They do have food trucks here on the weekends but no official schedule is posted. It’s definitely a cool brewery to check out and they have some upcoming releases that I don’t want to miss. If you like beer and want a great place to hang out BBB is a great new place!

Yes, it’s true, I’m not reallllly a beer drinker, but I’m slowly warming up to the idea and finding a few that I like. This is in part due to having good friends that know their craft beer and are helping me branch out, and in part due to having awesome places like this in Broward that make you want to come in, hang out, and share a few beers with friends. I’d come here a week earlier for a Unilocal event and had a great time, so when friends suggested we come back, I was more than happy. As most breweries in Broward, Bangin’ Banjo is located off the beaten track. Don’t let it’s location scare you off, and yes, really listen to your GPS when it steers you down a weird access road. As the name suggests, the interior is decorated with some rustic feel. Lots of wood on the walls, and a great open door into the brewing area itself. Saddle up to the bar and get to know the owners, or grab a seat on the picnic tables and gossip with your friends. GAMES Card games, board games, some kind of shuffle board meets air hockey board(this this is hard yet super fun!)… they’ve got it all to keep your group entertained. FOOD There isn’t any lol. But on weekends they do tend to have a food truck outside, which is convienent. Also, they are more than happy to have food inside… so bring your own, or call for delivery. BEER I guess I should talk about the beer itself right? lol. Since I had come here for a Unilocal event previously, I’d sampled quite a few of their beers. The Gose isn’t quite sour enough for me, or at least not fully lacking the hops flavor as much as I would like, but this is definitely the best beer for me. I also fell in love with their Milk Stout at the previous event. On this visit I stuck with the Gose, but also sampled the Candy Cane Porter and the Chai Ale. I knew the Chai Ale would pair perfectly with the spicy food I had ordered from the food truck outside, so I ended getting the Chai Ale to wash it all down! Overall, I think BBB(or «the banjo» as I affectionately call it lol) is a great spot! Check out their website for the event calendar as they have lots of special things going on(Star Wars screenings, Gose Festival etc etc!).

I don’t frequent breweries as much as I’d like to, my former local was Due South in Boynton, now my local is Saltwater. I enjoy Saltwater a lot, I enjoy the brews, the atmosphere, the music, and the food trucks. Bangin’ Banjo was on my bookmarks for a while, I read some great reviews and was super excited when Greshka’s UYE fitted with a free night on my schedule. Rico and I decided to head over, we used the Unilocal Beer Week 50% off flights deal. I thought the prices were great to begin with but with the deal it was a steal. It was far more spacious on the inside than what you would think from the outside. It had a rustic vibe with beer bottles lining the wall, plenty of seating, with a small doorway where the brewery could be seen. Being a weeknight, it wasn’t busy at all, a few folks at the bar, us at a bench table near the front door. Music could be heard in the background which was appreciated since with do few people there wasn’t much of an atmosphere. The bartender came over with a wave from Greshka and he was very helpful. The flight we ordered 1. cream ale, 2. gose, 3. chai brown, 4. hop of the muffin IPA, 5. milk stout, 6. R.I.S overcast shallow. Naturally the flight came on a cute wooden banjo. My top two were the chai and the cream ale, least favorite was the gose, because it smelt like vomit to me and I’m not for the sour flavored beers. Would I head back to BB? Not in a hurry, but if I was in the area possibly, overall it was a fun night and the company was stellar. Cheers!

*ALERT!* ALERT!* Star Wars Marathon HERE this Tuesday And Wednesday!!! SITREP So. This is really atypical of me, since I do NOT like to write reviews that are so clearly«dated» in TIME(and SPACE, «the final frontier» — and, YES, I’m purposely tweaking BOTH the Star Wars AND Star Trek *purists* with that comment). But I am a TRUE Star Wars Geek(as well as Star Trek, FTR), and so I feel it is my responsibility. Yeah, my DUTY to inform the populace that Bangin Banjo Brewing Company(Bangin Banjo) is having a Star Wars marathon this week: * Tuesday Dec 15(tomorrow) — the Prequel Star Wars trilogy = 1(Phantom Menace — 1999), = 2(Attack of the Clones — 2000) = 3(Revenge of the Sith — 2001) * Wednesday Dec 16 — the original Star Wars trilogy = 4(A New Hope — 1977, and FIRST Star Wars film) = 5(Empire Strikes Back, 1980, and BESTFILMSWEVER! Wait. Did I say that out loud? = 6(Return of the Jedi, 1983) *Call Brewery for specific event time & activities* WHY? In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock, the *NEW* Star Wars film, «THEFORCEAWAKENS» opens this Friday, December 18. Oh? You didn’t know? Take a gander at this trailer: BEER! But moving on to Bangin Banjo and their BEER! Both the Bum Ditty and the Cypress Creek are wonderful refreshing beers if you prefer your brew not to be TOO hoppy like the Hop of the Muffin. But all of Bangin Banjo’s brews are oustanding! I absolutely LOVE Bangin Banjo’s boards that they place the flights in: they are shaped like a banjo! Imagine how sad Olaf and I were when we found out there were none for sale to take home as wonderful keepsakes. *sigh* ;) LOCATION&STAFF! This warehouse location is pretty sweet because it means they have plenty of parking, it’s a low-key vibe, with plenty of room, very kitschy décor, and a fun staff! I love how they actually will come to you — if the room is not TOO busy — and take your orders. CARDS&BOARDGAMES! Bangin Banjo’s low-key vibe is so chill in fact that it’s the perfect place for a nice game of cards — «Cards Against Humanity, even!: THELOWDOWN You can’t beat Bangin Banjo for a great time of drinking refreshing brews and enjoying some fun with friends!

I was happy to finally make it here. A co– worker was raving about this place when it first opened, and I had it on my Unilocal bookmarks, too. I have to say that several Unilocalers snapped some pretty appealing photos as well. I tried a couple of flights so I could sample the different concoctions. Check out my attached photos for more details. The place, itself, is located off of Powerline in a non-descript warehouse district. Spacious and warm, there were a couple of TV’s with sports on. Regarding the neighborhood, it seems to be the growing trend with micro-breweries, which are bringing beer-loving folks to places and neighborhoods they probably wouldn’t go to otherwise. But, to me, that’s the charm of these places. As someone who grew up next to factories, I feel quite at home in these types of neighborhoods. I will certainly return. As I am an afternoon person, I like having a beer on Saturday afternoons. Also, they have a food truck right outside if you get hungry. On this particular day, the food truck person was handing out free samples to drum up business. The samples were pretty good.

This is my second time at a brewing company and it was a great experience as compared to going to Funky Buddha which is very packed. The location is quite odd, you will catch yourself looking at your GPS wondering if Waze/Siri is playing a trick on you. In the corner of what seems to just be a bunch of corporate offices, you will find it. Upon entering, you would have never expected it to look this way from the outside. High tops, bar, sitting area, music, and a view of brewing machine right from the front. I am most definitely not a beer drinker. I would consider myself rather new to the beer world, starting my journey with ciders. With another fellow Unilocaler, Joe D., we decided to stick around after the event to use our 50% off flight check-in offer. I actually drank every single one! This didn’t taste like your common crappy beers, you can appreciate the quality of each one. There was no flavor that I just couldn’t finish. Each one had their own signature flavor. My top two favorites was the Gosegetter Gose(if you are beginner like me, I would suggest this one) and Cypress Creek Cream Ale. Another thing I loved about this place was the fact that they have games. I love playing games while interacting and enjoying some drinks. One thing I kind of didn’t enjoy was the choice in music. It was like depressing slow music but I am going to assume it was because it was a Sunday afternoon and not many people were in there. I was able to tone it out so I forgot there was even music playing at some point. I look forward to returning with some of my girlfriends and thank you for being informative on the different varieties!

Ever since I saw their name I wanted to go. When I saw their flights, I needed to go. Unilocal pictures, reviews, and friends saying how much I would like this place… I was dying to go! Unilocal BPB is celebrating Local Beer Week, where they have 50% half off flight so obviously I went! The brewery is a little hidden in an industrial area, full of warehouses, but, if you look closely, you will see a small sign showing you have arrived to your destination. I invited some friends to join and take advantage of the promotion. 6pm, some people there but not busy. They have board games, cards, and a shuffleboard. Our server, Jeremy, immediately came and greeted us. Told us about the beers they were offering that night, and some changes to the menu. He was super friendly, attentive, and quick to come over whenever we had questions or needed a refill. Now, this is what I had been waiting on all along… that banjo shaped flight tray is so cute! I’m like a kid… I smiled as soon as it came out. Even more when I tasted my first beer and it was a sour. So, you know, my favorite is the Gosegetter Gose. So much I ordered one after I was done with my flight. The usual cost for the 6 beer flight is $ 8.00 not bad at all! So, I already told you about my favorite of the night… here are the other 5: Cream Ale — light and very easy to drink Belgian Tripel — it’s a bit too hoppy for my taste, but not bad Chai Brown Ale — this was one of the changes on the menu and glad I had the chance to try it. It’s light and the spices definitely come out. Pumpkin Porter — wish it had a stronger pumpkin flavor Moodo Voodoo Milk Stout — really liked this one too. If the Gose hadn’t been available this would be my go to. They told me about some seasonal ones like the banana, and s’mores ones and I can’t wait to try those. Friendly people, laid back atmosphere, games and good beer. They have trivia nights, I even saw some movie nights on their wall calendar. Food trucks are available on some nights, if not, order delivery. There’s also wine for the non-beer drinkers. So really, everything you can ask for… This is a great place to come hang out and chill, especially after a long day at work. Can finally say I’ve been to Bangin’ Banjo!!! And you’ll see me there again ;)

After putting it off for quite some time, I was finally able to make it in for some beer tasting! Its not to far away from us but it was a little tricky to find. Walking in the place is huge! Very spaced out and very mellow. I felt completely transformed once we found a table. It was such a laid back atmosphere. We were greeted shortly and had a little small talk about how we heard about them and what’s new. We decided to get a flight since I’m still pretty much a beginner when it comes to beer like this. I tried a little of everything to see where I’m at. The Chocolate covered peanut porter was definitely my fav. The Windmill IPA however was a bit too strong for me. The Judy was pretty good and the pumpkin porter was very smooth to me which i liked a lot as well. I have yet to adjust my taste buds when it comes to all the different flavors and levels to this but I’m getting there. This place is very well kept. The staffs are friendly and smart and try to teach you as much as they can without sounding like there reciting a passage. They really know their stuff here. I’m excited to come back and try some more. I think i may be considered a light weight where this is concern since by the 3rd glass i was already feeling pretty… buzzed. Lol The banjo shaped flights were so creative, i loved it! How unique is that?! The décor of the place is really cool too. I like that there was a huge door open so you could see«behind the scenes» a bit. Over all, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great prices(especially if you’re a light weight like me), easy going atmosphere and really good beer! What more could you want?

Decided to go on a spontaneous beer tour of breweries in BPB for my birthday. Bangin Banjo ended up on our list of places to go. Located in an industrial plaza, can be a little hard to find. But was worth searching out. BEER Opted not to do a flight because we prefer porters and stouts, ended up getting the County Faire Pumpkin Porter and the Moodoo Voodoo. –County Faire Pumpkin Porter– had to have been the Best pumpkin I had all day! Most of the pumpkin beers I had that way were way too fragrant with spices. This beer had the pumpkin flavor but not overpowering. Had a nice thick body, a little smoky and just great overall flavor. I definitely recommend trying it out.. would drink again! –Moodoo Voodoo– this was also pretty good. Dark, roasty and sweet. Milk stouts are always yummy. Easy drinkability. Beers we tried were really good. Games in the tap room. Delivery menus available for bites. And I believe food trucks are available on certain nights. I would trek up this way again. Recommend checking it out.
