This store has always been poorly managed. Over the years there was only ONE person in that store that understood customer service, I still remember her name, Dawn. While she was there I never regretted going into that store. Now I regret every time I walk out of that place for not taking a few extra minutes to drive to the Stater Bros down the street. The checkers are either on the telephone or are in no hurry to move faster than a snail’s pace. On one visit the checker was on the telephone with what sounded like a customer call while the line was six deep. The manager just stood by and watched the checker check out orders with one hand. Today was my last visit to that store.

Wasted time in the store. Staff unable to assist or provide compensation or even empathy when they couldn’t get any methods of payment other than cash to work properly. One lady even tried to pay with a check.
I understand the credit card machines issue was likely out of their control, however they were not helpful in assisting myself or other customers to find solutions for their full carts and wasted limited time. Who carries $ 200 cash around these days?

This is a good location in the heart of Pomona, directly across from the hospital on Garey ave. Clean, parking friendly store with a CVS drug store and a UPS right next door. Except for the occasional homeless guy begging out front I see nothing wrong with this location. Dry ice can be purchased here as with many other Smart and Finals, and fresh produce as well as dairy and deli items. My favorite cleaner can be found here «Bar Keepers Friend» is probably the #1 best cleanser I have ever come across it will remove old rust stains and hard to clean items where others will fail to give results. Try «BKF» it will work when Comet and Ajax wont!

The place you go to if you are unable to go to Costco. The service is always great at Smart & Final, and this specific location is no different. They always have full stocked shelves and I enjoy getting food in bulk that can last me a few months. The burger patties in my opinion are always the best aspect because they can last me and my wife for about 3 months, and its always the place to go when you are looking for food and items to host a BBQ Party or House party. This location is next to a CVS pharmacy and the parking is even better.

Since I’ve discovered Smart & Final I no longer have any need to spend $ on a Costco membership. They have everything I need in large, but not enormous, sizes at a great price!

The store is set up pretty nicely.
Fruits and veggies looked fresh as I walked by.
I only really wanted to review this place because they carry Beecher’s Mac & Cheese in their frozen food section. Trust me, if you try it… it’ll be the best mac & cheese you have ever tasted in your whole entire life.

Clean store and helpful people.

WATCH OUT FOR EXPIRATION DATES! Just got back from there trying to buy some Yoplait Yogurts. Today is Monday April 30^th and the expiration dates on some of the yogurts was April 6… over three weeks expired!
When we brought it to the attention of one of the workers, she just shrugged and said they would have the deli department look at it.
Yikes…I hope they do!

Most of the Smart and Final Stores have expanded to include Fresh fruits, and vegitables.
The Pomona Store is now one of those stores.

Well, well, well… I actually get to write my first review and unfortunatly it’s about a terrible experience that I had this past Friday night at Smart and Final in Pomona. My family and I were getting ready to go camping and I needed to pick up some «bulk» items but wanted to avoid CostCo in Montclair and didn’t want to risk my life at the Smart and Final on Holt in Ontario… so I thought to myself what the heck, hop on the 10frwy and go to the S&F in PTown, at least if I did get shot I’d be across from PVMC.
Although the products were perfect, and the initial greeting seemed friendly. I made the fatal mistake of writing a check… Afterall, who the hell do I think I am writing a check… Why do I feel that way you ask?
After writing a check for like $ 125.00 (something like that) the «Manager» was summons to the register. She glared at me and said «Drivers License» I responded Oh I already showed the cashier… again Manager Judy wearing an Oh so lovely «wolf» sweatshirt glared at me and yelled «DRIVERS LICENSE».
I felt like I was on Reno 911 only this time the fraile gay guy wasn’t arresting me it was the OTD «Old tired Dyke» asking for me to bend over… Got nothing against gay people, after all I voted NO on Prop 8!!!
Anyways I then became very irritated in the true «BUFFY» fashion, I then asked her/​him whatever it was «DO YOU ALWAYS HASSLE PEOPLE WHO WRITE CHECKS LIKE THIS» Manager Judy responded well «NEXT time use your ATM!!! Damn next time, I will and I won’t shop there either! Dang Felicia Why you gotta be so crabby! I was just trying to get my camp on!!! Whatever, I’ll go to Costco next time and get a greasy piece of pizza and a chicken bake… hmmm so there!

If you want large quantities at fairly cheap prices Smart & Final is your store. We came here to pick up a bunch of supplies for an upcoming bbq we were having. We were able to find all the supplies needed with a few exceptions. For the most part the prices were cheap and knew we’d only be able to find here. However, we knew of other stores where we could pick up other items at even more of a discount. Hey, who knew they even had a store discount card.
