We were loyal to Deer Mountain for years. Our child loved the camp and we referred nearly half a dozen families. Most recently, our teenager was hired at the camp as a specialty counselor. Turns out that the «beloved» owners, Carol and Roberta, were no longer so nice and mistreated the staff. They berated the staff daily despite being devoted and toughing it out during consecutive heatwaves. I wouldn’t want to have my young child in the care of staff who are so sorely mistreated. Nor would I wish to patronize a camp with high fees run by such owners. It is a shame that it has all gone downhill along with the facilities.
