Basilico Gourmet Pizzeria & Restaurant

Excellent pizza and calzones. You’ll find unusual pizza options, although they are a bit pricey and the pizzas are smaller than the usual size. The food is delicious, however. They also have Italian ices year round, although the flavor choices run low as the winter progresses. It is a pizzeria, so don’t expect a fancy restaurant.

I didn’t have high expectations coming in, but I was pleasantly surprised. The owner was attentive, the prices were reasonable, and the lasagna was excellent. Certainly, a hidden jewel this place.

Unfortunately, this restaurant is under very poor management and I have tried many times to overlook it and continue to give them chances, but not any more. For example, they sent me a rice ball that was honest to God the size of a large meatball. When I called to notify the manager (Jamie), his response was that there is no machine that makes them so expect them to be different sizes… really? I have never in my life ordered a rice ball the size of a meatball; give me a break. Another time, I ordered a pizza that was supposed to include fresh basil cooked into it. The pizza I received had only dry basil (like McCormick) on it. Again, Jamie failed to provide quality customer service. One of his employees told me that they would be sending the correct pie and apologized for the error and told us to keep the other one as well. Jamie called back a few minutes later and told me he could not make sense of making a new pie for me and instead offered someone to drop off some basil… ummmm are you kidding me? What, am I supposed to put fresh basil on my already cold cooked pizza and recook it? He should take some business courses or learn from his employees at the very least. Very disappointing and will be giving my business to a company that has more qualified management.

So glad I found this gem on my way through this town! The lobster bisque was on point with the garlic croutons and «garlic knots»!! As was the chicken parm with fresh basil & the fettuccine Alfredo with fresh garlic! And then there is the service! Such a friendly owner who took care of me! You don’t find many (or any) places like this in the city! Makes me miss small town living where the people have time to care about what they do and who they are! Perfection.

Terrible, rip off! Never again! Two tries two many! Worst food ever! I also got a personal pizza, it was a pita with lettuce.. Really!

This is the first time Unilocal has ever let me down. 4.5 w/​12 reviews. I had plain pizza. The pizza was soggy with no body. I literally fell over on itself. You couldn’t fold to eat. People were nice, no complaints there. I wouldn’t go back. Getting pizza right at a pizzeria is entry level stuff. No chance I’d risk a meal there.

All around awesome! Best pizza in the area and their entrees are delicious too. Every item I’ve tried so far has been better than the last. Definitely recommend.

I went in for lunch and had a great pasta dish. Thumbs up on the pasta and pizza. Very friendly staff, the owner prepared and served our food and took time to chat, make sure we had enough bread and even gave us a few free salads while we waited for our meals.

Was looking for Sal’s Pizzeria but had trouble finding the place and ended up here. This place blew my expectations away. The potato chip pizza is a MUST try, I know it sounds weird but it’s really good. My friend and I only had the pizza here and we were both very happy with our selections.

We were heading to the Boulders game, but wanted a decent bite to eat, and I luckily stumbled upon Basilico’s on Unilocal.
We absolutely LOVED the fresh & tasty food, service was friendly, fast & helpful, and the place was super clean and charmingly decorated — HOME RUN !!!

Soup was fresh, garlic knots were soft, sweet and — well — garlic-​y. For our main course we had chicken scapariello. Tender and juicy chicken, sweet sausage and a side of spinach with garlic and oil — perfect. Even though I live on the west side of Bergen County, NJ, I may need to find an excuse to get here again and again — real soon.

It was good– very clean place and the staff was friendly. The menu was decent with a few items I haven’t seen before. We tried one of them out of curiosity– it was basically a scrambled egg battered and deep fried, served with marinara sauce. It was soggy though and tasted as weird as it sounds. We also ordered a salad and another dish, neither was memorable (which is why I can’t remember what we ordered).
The food was ok — I’d go again but can’t recall anything special that makes me want to return, so while I wouldn’t say don’t go, I can’t highly recommend either.

Great find. Pasta was great and the staff is extremely friendly. Would definitely go back if we’re in the neighborhood.

I have never had a bad anything at this place. The pizza is delish and every entrée I have ever had was top notch. Tonight, I had simply the best cannoli known to man. Always a fan.
