American Hospital Chemical Dependency Recovery

Horrible! This place is all about milking the state to pay for 14 days of detox even if someone doesn’t need it. They grossly over medicated my friend after telling us that he was only being taken into detox in order to have him ready once a bed became available elsewhere. After I received a call from a rehab facility the same day stating they would accept him, suddenly no one would return my calls nor take my calls even though I was on the consent list. Finally I arrived in person 2 days later at ARC only to be given the run around by several workers who in so many words refused to even tell him I was there and that he was being given the opportunity to transfer to a proper rehab facility. Finally they spoke with him and 2 hours later he walked through the door disheveled, disoriented, drooling and stumbling — I assure you he was 2 days sober when he arrived there. He broke down in tears when he saw me and said he told them he wanted to leave and the refused to let him. I understand that some people need to medically detoxed when coming off of alcohol/​drugs but this was ridiculous and sick. He said it was like a prison — they served powdered eggs for breakfast and corn dogs for dinner, and gang tension was high. They wouldn’t allow him to shave, brush his teeth, nor shower. The people treated me like some delinquent teen when I arrived, and I remained very compliant and polite until I figured out they were gonna play that game… finally when the words police and lawyer rolled off my tongue, things got real all of a sudden. Thank God we got him out of there and into a place that will hopefully be able to grace him with the help he needs. He was so relieved to arrive there… a true bottom indeed.

I owe this place my life!
After 2 other attempts at sobriety, I finally checked myself in here on 5÷24÷89 and have been clean and sober ever since! If you decide to go here for help, be sure to stay for the whole program and do whatever is suggested to you. I did, and it worked for me.
