The atmosphere was really nice but the food was pricey for what it was. Really liked the homemade 1000 Island Dressing. I ordered the buffalo chicken mac n cheese and it was delicious. I didnt really understand the chips and salsa and mexican menu. It’s like they tried to cover ever cuisine. Find your niche and stick to it

We drive 60 miles to eat at Wild Horse and have been for years. The food is great, and we’ve always had good service. It’s one of my favorite places to eat in the tri-state area. I’m genuinely surprised to see some of the poor reviews on Unilocal

So I feel bad for this place. Taking into consideration the local population, it’s pretty ok. I’m sure it’s hard to get good help and people who live around here don’t have high expectations so it sets the bar low on multiple levels. That said, the view is great, they have done good stuff on the menu and I’ve never had food poisoning! The service isn’t very good, the cooks do t know how to cook a steak and it’s kinda pricey for what you get. For the same price you can head up to Athens and get a properly cooked steak and nice side. Yea, with salad too. We went there to get away for the evening and watch the river flow and it was fine. Slow and the meat was WAY over cooked. Like curling up on the sides when it was to be medium. If you have special eating things like gluten free or dairy free, just order without explaining it. They won’t get you.

First time here and I will NOT be returning. Ordered NY Strip Medium Rare. Came back well done. Our server was nowhere in sight so thankfully the server from a neighboring table put in an order for another steak. The second one came back and it was well done too. My gf ordered buffalo chicken mac and cheese and it was disgusting – didn’t think it was possible for something to be too cheesy – and at $ 15 it was way too overpriced. The only decent thing we had was the fried zucchini. Definitely not worth it.

We’ve gone to this place for several years to sit on the back porch, have drinks and eat a nice meal. I haven’t noticed it going down like others stated. I had the Cuban Sandwich which was delicious. My husband had the pork chops which he loved. The server was friendly, quick and gave great advice on what to eat. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the bridge’s reflection on the water and the bright blue sky. I love the western décor. Most importantly, the restrooms were clean.

This place only deserves one star because our waitress was friendly and the salsa was tasty. Please do not let the awesome décor lure you into this fresh hell. My boyfriend and I were over an hour away from home when we stopped in this place. Our food was horrible(Cuban sandwich with fries & fish sandwich with onion rings.) By the time we made it from our booth to our vehicle we were both terribly sick, I assume from the greaseball fish that we both ate since the Cuban was nearly inedible. It was a long car ride home!

It was once a nice place to eat, bit it went downhill fast. The people that really cared about the place moved on to bigger and better things and now it seems like a bunch of careless kids run the place. The food is never served how you order it, and it’s always overseasoned. The only thing this place has going for it is the price of a 24oz beer and it has probably went up.

Nice place. Good food. Nice atmosphere. Not the greatest waitress but a good meal anyway. Loved the fries and buffalo chicken dip. Patio is pretty and relaxing.

If you’re in a biker gang called«The Hell’s Angels» and have a confederate flag somewhere on your person, then you’re probably not on Unilocal and already eating at the Wild Horse Café. I’ll admit, the view of the Ohio River is pretty cool. But, the food made me want to jump into the river.
