I come here often for meetings. They have free wifi and a great atmosphere. I had the tuna melt with a side caesar salad and applesauce. It was really good. The applesauce was homemade. It had little too much cinnamon for me and to much skin left in to really enjoy. I’ve had other sandwiches and they were good also. The prices are reasonable. The desserts ate really good. They have a great variety of did for everyone. The only problem is there are only a couple of booths that have outlets to plug-in, so if those are taken you ate out of look. The parking is ok. It fills up fast. The ladies are kind and welcoming.

I had the breakfast tacos and they were delicious! The staff was very polite and allowed me to order breakfast even though I was that girl and walked in right at 11(sorry and thank you guys!) The café is cute and classy. Free WiFi and comfy benches make for a nice place to sit and do some work in front of their huge windows. I wasn’t sure exactly what kinds of coffees they served here due to not being able to find it in the online menu, but they do have lattes and mochas if anyone was wondering. I added a pic with that menu just in case my review is missed by a latte lover like myself.

I have been checking out places close to my house for lunch and Café at Wittenauer’s fits the bill. I went twice last week and was pleased both times. I had the half sandwich and cup of soup that was very reasonably priced — $ 5.50 or something like that I think. First one was the roast beef Panini with a chicken soup and the second was a tuna melt with tomato basil soup. Both were really good — freshly made and much better than Panera. This will be a go-to spot for sure!

Great local place to eat. Soups, salads, paninis, sandwiches and desserts. Everything is really good especially the desserts. The portions are small but that’s because the quality is good. If people are complaining about portions then they probably aren’t used to good food just lots of mediocre junk. Décor is clean and contemporary with a local artists’ pictures hanging on the walls. Support this local restaurant and you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been here a bunch of times for coffee or a latte, which has been great. Today I decided to try lunch, so I got the southwest chicken salad, which is a new addition to the menu. Boy was that a mistake. The salad ran me $ 10 and was not big enough to justify the cost. It was lackluster at best and the southwest dressing tasted mostly like mayo… yuck. At first it was given to me with no chicken until I went back and reminded them. The girl who had forgotten the chicken must have been nervous after that because she bussed everyone’s table except mine. So I sat with a dirty plate and the smell of mayo at my table while I worked on my computer. The middle aged woman behind the register could stand to improve her customer service too. I asked her for no olives, and she acknowledged my request. Then she told the girl making the food to start on a southwest chicken salad and proceeded to take the next customer’s order! I had to hurry over and tell her I didn’t want olives before she made it. It’s small things like that that turn people off from a place. I’ll get coffee and sit to do work because I love the atmosphere(the reason for 3 stars and not fewer), but they lost my lunch business. Given the price of coffee compared to food, that’s a bummer for them. When they opened I suggested to the manager they get a suggestion box. Especially in a small town, it pays to know what your regulars want to see change. They still haven’t gotten one. I hope they at least read their Unilocal reviews.

I agree with the person that said it was over priced. Food is absolutely nothing special. To me they seem to trying to do a Panera type deal bit it just doesn’t work.

Careful, Café at Wittenauer’s. You’re at a crucial point in your business. One false move and… On a recent visit I heard three different patrons complaining that tables hadn’t been bussed. One complained of an error with her order. Every business owner knows that every outward facing employee must be an ambassador of your«brand.» One disgruntled employee can ruin the«brand.» 2⁄3 of the employees are pleasant; one needs to be retrained as she is not«putting their best foot forward.» And all the while, no owner or manager in sight. To be fair, the food is still quite good; the price point is still the best deal around. But little things DO matter And people are noticing. The minute those things outweigh the price point and quality, people will lunch elsewhere. Careful!

We are new to the area, but Wittenauers has quickly become a favorite when showing friends around town. Great for breakfast, lunch, and amazing baked treats! 3 cheers for a local gem.

I had the delight of stopping by this former drug store and gift shop(that is what it was when I was growing up where we use to stop after school to get candy and magazines) for lunch. It has a very comfortable and open atmosphere and the food is just lovely. I choose the Turkey Day Panini and it was quite yummy in the tummy — talk about comfort food! It has wonderful turkey with delicious stuffing and cranberry sauce. I chose for my side the homemade applesauce that tasted like dessert. They also have an art gallery that is connected along with art classes — how much fun is that!!! What a great little gem!

Everything about this place is adorable. I love stopping in for lunch or just for a coffee. They have a great variety on their menu and also offer seasonal options. The turkey day panini is by far my favorite and comes complete with stuffing and cranberry sauce. The tomato basil soup is also delicious. With so many fresh baked goods you can’t leave without trying something. Definitely give the baked oatmeal and power wrap a try for breakfast. Delicious and much better than any local chain spot.

I’m not from Youngstown. I have no fond memories of the Wittenauers of days past. But I do think this is a cute local Panera knock off.(complete with the smell — I always leave Panera smelling like food and I left here smelling like food — must be the sandwich press) Clean lines are all you’ll find in Wittenauer’s. The décor is sleek, bright, and a little modern. Except for the pictures of days gone by in Poland in Youngstown. There are two huge dessert and pastry cases as well as a beverage bar and a sandwich making area. We dropped in for some birthday dessert for my boyfriend’s dad. I was too stuffed from lunch at the Springfield Grill, so I just ordered a hot chocolate. My boyfriend’s parents tried the peanut butter brownie and the oreo cheesecake. Their dessert looked amazing and they were pleased. I was less thrilled with my hot chocolate. It was more steamed milk than anything else. And a little bitter. I actually had a little less than half of it and tossed it. My boyfriend said his vanilla latte was better. Despite my underwhelming beverage, I’d definitely go back to Wittenauer’s to try out some of their amazing looking dessert or one of their sandwiches.(they have all kinds of them — even for vegetarians like me!) You could go to Panera instead… but you really should support this local business instead!
