Bayview Cottage

I want to give Bay View 2.5 stars but hey.
The cottage is in a great location, it does have lovely views, and it’s comfortable.
What really bothered us was the housekeeping.
My instinct is to say for the price they charge I expect a clean toilet, no hair that isn’t mine in the tub, and clean dishes. But the reality is that I expect those regardless of price unless I’m in some seedy hotel in the Tenderloin or Marseille. Ok, so there was a lot of dust and spiderwebs – I can handle that. And, no one can control that a fly died in the skylight and fell on the bed before we got there. Flies die, whatever.
But I REALLY don’t want to know that the people who stayed there just before we did ate eggs with finely shredded cheddar and sauted something with green onions… We had to wash every dish and glass before we used it. I also don’t want to have to clean the toilet before I use it – it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of everything else and it’s certainly not what I dream of while I’m on vacation. Boo!
Sad to say, because it is a lovely property, but we won’t be back. This trip was a big splurge for us and we were disappointed. Pt Reyes is as awesome as ever though!

Lovely cottage. Wonderful view. Great deck wih hot tub. An excellent get-​away near Point Reyes National Seashore.
We were there for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The one and absolutely only downside was the lack of a microwave in the kitchen.

This is a great place for a weekend getaway from the city. The cottage has a fireplace, a gorgeous view, and a fantastic hot tub. I loved the breakfast nook and lovely tray of pastries upon our arrival. The cottage was really cozy and was really close to Point Reyes National Seashore where we spent a full day hiking. The rate was $ 418 (including tax) for the weekend. Totally worth it!

Just got back from a great weekend at this place. We originally tried to book the Neon Rose, but it was taken and they recommended this place. The cottage is adorable and the views are amazing! We basically had our own little studio apartment for the weekend with a view of Tomales Bay. There’s a deck with a hot tub that you can soak in and look at the stars after a day of hiking around the wilderness/​seashore. It wasn’t cheap, but it was SO worth it for a romantic getaway. This was our second wedding anniversary, and I got some major points for planning this!
