It was VERY good food. The wait was a bit longer than expected, but there was only one waiter/cook at the time. I was. I am very pleased. I would recommend the New York roll along with the Crunchy California! Like I said, absolutely FANTASTIC sushi.

Holy cow this place is amazeballs! We came here because Miss 15 wanted sushi and our usual place was closed. We read the reviews but decided to try. Well, the reviews are wrong! This place was great! We were immediately greeted and invited to choose our seat. The service was great and our server was very kind and helpful. Everything we had was great! My miso soup was delicious and the egg rolls done to perfection. All our rolls were great! Well made, fresh ingredients, and tasty was the experience we had with our food. My daughter wanted something to eat with her steamed rice and our server patiently explained all the sauces to her. The place is spotless and welcoming. 10⁄10 will come back.

Love this place! Best for all you can eat in southeast Idaho. Their rolls are authentic and really tasty. Sure it’s not ny or slc sushi but for Idaho it’s really good! My husband and I go here about once a month

Sushi is nothing to brag about but it’s ok. The service is worst part. They usually only have 1 server for the entire resturant and 1 guy making all the food. We waited a good hour before we even got our first rolls. So plan on being there at least 2 hours to have a meal. Sumisu is by far a better choice.

I will not come here again. Being from Southern California, I was skeptical to even come here, but the boyfriend wanted all you can eat sushi, so here we are. We got 3 orders of sushi and it took 2 hours. 2HOURS! I have never waited so long for food in my life. For the most part the sushi was decent considering the location, but my last tuna roll was mush and completely inedible. There were also a few rolls that came out smothered with sauces that the menu made no mention of. Overall, I give this place a 2, barely.

Having tried sushi(finally) at the other sushi restaurant in Pocatello and enjoying it, I decided to give this a try. They have an all you can eat sushi deal that the waiter recommended, as I wasn’t quite sure what we liked yet. He said it was a good way to experience the menu and discover your likes/dislikes. He failed to mention that there is a surcharge on your bill if you do not completely finish your plate prior to trying something else. My son and I finished everything minus one tiny bit of salmon as the taste was not appealing to us, and got to pay this«surcharge» on our all-you-can-eat meal. I paid, and will not be back. I felt like I was on the receiving end of a used car salesman scam.

We have been here several times and my friends enjoyed the bento boxes. The all you can eat option is popular and usually what my husband and myself go for. I would not recommend it unless you are into rolls. I only say this because the pieces of actual sushi available for order have very little fish on them, and giant mounds of rice. The taste and quality is good enough but I’m giving only two stars due to the lack of atmosphere this establishment has, and the fact that the waitress charged me a surcharge for not eating all of my rice and then ordering two more pieces of sushi. Apparently somewhere on the menu there is a hidden clause. Had I known I would have gladly licked my plate clean. I wasn’t eating the fish off and ordering more sushi… I really just left a couple teaspoons on the plate. I felt punished for others misbehavior. A warning might have been a better option for public relations. I’d eaten here before 4 or 5 times with my husband and never was told of this… so beware. This is a reason for me not to go back as a matter of principle. My mother was angry and so was my husband as we had a bill for over $ 80 and are(were) good customers. If you go you’d better eat all of your rice!

This place has GREAT potential. Amazing sushi, never boring with all their options… One thing that would make this a 5 star would be to hire more staff to get the rolls out faster. Think they could really make more money and get more customers. I don’t have time to wait 2 to 3 hours to eat. But I still come at least 2 or 3 times a month

Terrible Service!!! We went with a group of friends 6 total, we were all paying separately and the pregnant waitress still charged us for a 13% tip on each of our bills! Not only did we wait ONEHOUR for our second set of rolls, our waitress passed us many time and refused to take our dirty plates! The only reason we are giving two star is because the sushi was good. I will never be going back!!!

The food here was decent. It was filling, but definitely on the bland side. The servers were all very kind and helpful, but it also took a very long time to get our food. We were a table of ten, but we were also one of only two tables in there at the time.

never going back to this stupid place I felt like they raped me when I got my bill ordered all you can eat and t price was 8.50 but the bill was 19 $ cause she said it would of been $ 20 for that I was super pissed and I think its a waste of my money if they advertise all you can eat for a price but charge something else dumb.

Great sushi, great prices. We especially loved the godzilla roll and the soft shell crab roll. I’ve had sushi in Seattle, San Francisco, and Maui, and this is totally on par

They have a variety of tools in the menu. The other sushi place in town, 85% of their menu is tempura shrimp. This place is lacking atmosphere, but I do enjoy their rolls. Never had a problem.

Best sushi in town and super inexpensive. Best nigiri I have had anywhere, including places in Utah and Vegas. We come here often and are always satisfied.

Nothing I’ve ordered has tasted stale or fishy, and the rice is well seasoned. Maybe they’ve been taking suggestions and improving accordingly; all I know is that the prices are awesome, and the food is decent.

The sushi isn’t TERRIBLE, but definitely not as good as Sumiso that is in the same town. The tempura battering is WAY too thick. I like a nice, thin layer that gives a crunch. It is at least a half inch thick which makes it soggy on the inside. Don’t get any rolls with tempura! Really — just don’t come here, it’s not worth your money.

Absolutely horrible. Sushi seemed to all be frozen or made from stuff that had been frozen for a long time. It smelled fishy and truly there was just nothing good about this place. Never again.

Never going back. The sushi was awful at any price. The fish was actually fishy(never had that happen with sushi before) and the freshwater eel was cut in a way that left nasty globs of fat in your mouth. Everything was off; both in texture and flavor. The yellowtail, spicy tuna, freshwater eel all tasted odd. Even one roll that came fried tasted like it was cooked in old and/or burnt oil.
We even ordered some items that never came. Maybe that was a blessing I guess.
I would hate sushi too if it tasted like this. For the two days following I had a terrible headache and felt really strange. I get about two headaches usually a year and they’re usually the result of hiking and not drinking enough water. What the hell were we served? The fukushima roll?(making a joke about radiation, not the plight of the japanese after the tsunami)
By far the most disgusting meal I’ve ever had in my life, paid for or not. I’d rather have a bowl of raisin bran for dinner. Seriously. Feeling ill makes any dinner regardless of the price(aveage here) and quality(worst meal of my life so far) not worth it.
Edit/Update: And no, the prices are not awesome. Our party of four had the same priced check(one didn’t even get sushi) as any other sushi place that would be 10x the quality. One of the people from our party did come here later on with some friends and said that the place has improved very slightly. I know him pretty well and I think he was being honest, but also EXTREMELY polite.
For pocatello Sushi: For now, fred meyer’s sushi thing is better than anything else in Pocatello — including sumisu with their off rice and mostly funky tasting rolls. I’m going to save going to sushi for Idaho Falls now.

Last review. I will never go back. Bland bland bland. Falvorless. I guess you get what you pay for and I would rather be raped on price and have a good experience than eat here again. Rice has no flavor. The imitation crab in my roll tasted like it had been sitting in water for days and and i could actually squeeze my pieces and have water drip out. YUCK. This is not true Japanese food. NOWAY. For thoughs of you that just want to seem cool for eating bland sushi go for it. Price doesn’t make it taste any better. I have learned here in Idaho though that people like everything bland…
