I have been a patient of Kerr’s since the mid 90’s. The exam rooms are spotless, the equipment and technology state of the art. The staff are experts in their field whether it be the hygienists or the dentists, always both professional and friendly. Dr. Kerr is highly professional and personable to the point where going to the dentist has always been a pleasure believe it or not.

Dr Kerr has been my dentist since I moved to the Plymouth area for about 3 ½ years ago. I had asked another dentist I knew who he would recommend in Plymouth and without hesitation he said Dr Kerr. It was a great referral. His office has all the latest equipment, his staff is very friendly and most importantly– everyone is very technically proficient. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Dr Kerr to anyone looking for a dentist!

I recently had my first appointment at Kerr Dental and was extremely unsatisfied! First they scheduled the initial appointment for 2 hours. The first 20 minutes or so is a tour of all the high tech equipment and rooms they have(which is an unnecessary waste of time). The tour guide proceeded to show me the x ray machine and prepare me for x rays. I informed her that I was up to date on all of them and it was not necessary. My records obviously were not reviewed prior to the visit or they were just perfectly ok with charging me for unnecessary routines, but worst of all, unnecessary radiation. The next 20 minutes were in a cleaning room where I had to rate what I felt was most important to me(functionality of my teeth, the look of my teeth, time, etc.) Who can rate any of these as more important then the other? The tour guide then took multiple pictures of my teeth. This was done for records to keep an eye on any previous fillings or caps. Might I add I have never had a cavity so therefore no fillings or caps are in my mouth. Once again my records were not reviewed prior. When the dentist finally came in to check my teeth he proceeded to say that I had no immediate issues(cavities, gum disease). When he left I sat again for another 20 minutes and then was moved to another room for my cleaning. The hygienist was extremely harsh! She at one point stuck her instrument into a gum and when I winced she told me that I had the beginning of gum disease and should see a periodontist. This was contradictory to what the dentist had just said. She was also unaware that I had my wisdom teeth removed. This I felt was quite scary as teeth are her career. They try to sell you procedures, brushing equipment and I was even solicited on prescription fluoride. I need to reiterate that I do not have any cavities and I am 40 years old, so obviously I have been doing something right for a good number of years. I did leave with a gift bag which contained a «Kerr Dental» key chain and a fortune cookie. I did not need to open the cookie to realize my future dental procedures will not be with this dentistry.

I LOVE this dentist’s office. And for me, that’s saying a lot! I used to HATE any/all dentists, well into adulthood, after a childhood full of getting cavities filled without being numb(long, awful, unrelated story). For years, I avoided the dentist at all cost, but these guys totally changed my mind. The entire staff at Kerr Dental Assoc. genuinely seems to care about your health, comfort, and happiness, from the doctors and assistants all the way through the front office staff. It’s really nice to not be treated like just another file in the filing cabinet. Dr. Herr is my dentist, and from my very first appointment, he was extremely patient, understanding, and accommodating. He listened to my concerns and fears about dental work, and he was really great about making sure I was comfortable and relaxed, even with some more in-depth procedures(like I said, I avoided the dentist for YEARS, so I had a lot of catching up to do). Dr. Herr even texted with me — while he was traveling — to follow up on a recent procedure. Seriously awesome stuff. I’ve also seen Dr. Kerr for a quick check up, and he was fantastic as well. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know his patients as people, not just another set of teeth. The office manager is really great about outlining costs and explaining your options. The team at the front desk always seems happy, even when I call because I’m late or need to reschedule. All in all, I can’t recommend this practice highly enough. Whether you have major concerns or are just looking for a place to keep your chompers healthy, you’d be foolish to go anywhere else.
