Spent 3 nights/4 days there with my family of 5 and another family Fantastic spot with excellent facilities and beautiful scenery. Lots to do within 10 miles if you are so inclined to drive as well We will definitely be going back next year. Hopefully we will be able to reserve the same camp site. Which one is a secret

We have been camping at Vermont state parks for several years. Of the parks I have visited, I enjoyed this one the least. On the positive side: beautiful mountain views from each campsite. The negatives: the bathrooms were not only dirty, but filled with green katydids during our visit in early August. It’s a little disconcerting to take a shower with about 60 little green eyes staring at you! There was no place within the park to swim or kayak, though there were a couple of places nearby. But worst of all was the incredibly rude park ranger. For some reason, he took a dislike to our group and appeared to be stalking us, looking for some infraction so he could find a way to eject us from the park. One night, he appeared BEFORE quiet hours had commenced, and told us that if we didn’t pipe down, he would throw us out no matter what time it was. It wasn’t even our group making the noise — it was another group further down the hill! He would have been better occupied by doing something about the abandoned baby bear that was lumbering from one site to another. I wrote a letter of complaint to the Vermont State Parks site after our trip was over, and got no response. I will not return to this park again.

This campground is small so one needs to make a reservation or just be lucky as we have been several times. Just be sure to bring quarters for the hot showers. Each campsite is located with extra space so there is privacy between each site
