I found my new ice cream parlor in Plymouth. They are Michigan made chocolates and everything in that place is amazing! Sampled some cherry peanut butter brittle, literally chunks of Michigan cherries, not your typical peanut brittle. Of course I had to buy some along with chocolate cashew caramel apple and some cherry caramel and sea salt caramel bites. Everything in there looked amazing, for my next visit on my list is the banana split ice cream and chocolate covered cherries! And I need to add that the young lady that was helping us was very helpful and such a sweetheart!

Stopped here on a trip to Plymouth. I absolutely loved it! They have so much to offer for sweets! I tried a double chocolate truffle and a dark chocolate salted caramel. There were both amazing! The woman running the store was super friendly and very helpful. She talked with us for a little while and made us feel so welcomed. I love it when employees talk with you more than just«what can I get for you». I highly recommend this place. It’s about 11.50 for a ½ pound of chocolate. Stop by here if you’re in town!

There is likely something for everyone in this chocolate haven. Located across from Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth, Alpine joins the ranks of other chocolatiers, Kemnitz, a stalwart of the area with its amazing cherry cordials, and Kilwin’s, with its addictive caramel popcorn. This new addition has shelves and display cases filled with chocolate-covered apples(à la Mrs. Prindables and Rocky Mountain Chocolates), marshmallows, and potato chips; large chocolate bars; slabs of fudge; rows upon rows of truffles; old-fashioned candy options and Guernsey ice cream. Behind the counters, staff was busy creating caramel-sweet waffle cones and chocolate creations. Everything smelled wonderful. After sampling several ice cream flavors, I went with a generous serving of well-churned strawberry. I also had lavender; rosemary/sea salt, and maple chipotle truffles. Unfortunately, the lavender and rosemary ones tasted like soap to my untutored palate. The maple chipotle one was pleasantly spicy. There is plenty of seating within this deceptively large and long store, including a funky lounge area with a large TV towards the back.

Oh my gosh! Great ice cream, great chocolate, and great service! My granddaughters enjoyed the ice cream and chocolate selections and so did I!

Stopped in here on a busy Saturday night. Thought I’ve walked past a thousand times, I have never gone in. I needed a little sugar fix after my dinner at Compari’s, so I wandered over. Opted for a dark chocolate sea salt caramel(I’m predictable). Delicious! My friend got her son a milk chocolate covered marshmallow, it looked quite good. We got 2 small pieces for $ 2.75. While not inexpensive, it was worth it. They serve ice cream as well and that seemed a little more popular. There’s a kid’s sitting area in the back as well as a few spots for adults, but really not that much seating for the size of the shop. More standing room, and that was good, since service was not super quick. Tip: if you are a chocolate covered potato chip fan, this is your place! They have tons of them, and a small bit of some vintage candy as well. So not just chocolate.

Reasonable prices on very good chocolates, Guernsey Farms ice cream and daily specials. They also have a small area at the back for the family to relax while having a small dessert. A definite must for a Saturday walking around downtown Plymouth.

I was walking around Plymouth and happened to see a chocolate shop. Naturally, I had no other choice but to go in. Upon walking in I was surprised to just how large the seemingly little store was. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Since it was our first time in she gave us a sample of their chocolate potato chips and their caramel. The potato chips were still crunchy and perfectly covered the sweet and salty combo that can be so good. The caramel melted in your mouth and was delicious with a couple different flavors. I ended up walking out with some chocolate covered salted caramels, pecan clusters, rosemary truffle, coconut crème, lemon crème, and a chocolate covered cherry. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing. I love how strong the rosemary was in that truffle, and the lemon crème was zesty and in your face lemony. Yum. I wish this was closer to my house, but I think my waistline is glad it isn’t!

It’s truly unfair to ask a chocohaulic to review a chocolat haus but I’m gonna give it a go anyway. This is one of several chocolate stores in downtown Plymouth. It’s a fairly recent addition to the square but its in a great location. Their first mistake was offering me samples. I could have stood there for hours eating chocolates but my sweet cousin was with me and she was kind enough to hold me back a bit. The star of the place was actually the chocolate covered potato chips. They carried this in both milk and dark chocolate. Of coarse I tried both. The milk chocolate is more salty/sweet. The dark chocolate was less salty but really nice. I left with a box of truffles, a box of chocolates, and a bag of hand made caramels.(Don’t leave without a handful of those) I hope they are successful because I look forward to visiting again the next time I’m in Plymouth.

Stopped in with my mom after the Christmas Concert at the Penn Theatre. They were giving out samples of their carmel corn. They had me at carmel corn. It was buttery and creamy and crunchy and delicious. I had their regular caramel corn, but they had chocolate covered caramel corn, caramel corn with dried cherries and caramel corn with pecans. It was all delicious! They had a huge variety of chocolate treats. These ranged from chocolate covered chocolate peel to peanut butter cups. Everything looked delicious! They also had caramel apples and ice cream. The store was packed when we were there, but they had a sitting area where you can enjoy your treats. I plan on coming back to get more caramel corn and try the other treats!

This may be the best part of downtown Plymouth. Stopped by here with my sister a few weeks ago, and followed up again with my wife during Fall Fest. AMBIANCE– let me start out by saying this place is a lot bigger than it looks like from the outside. I swear, the place is LONG. That said, there was plenty of space to enjoy your treats, and they even have a little lounge area with a couple chairs and a tv set up. Definitely had a modern feel tot the place, yet still seemed very inviting and warm. SERVICE– the lady and manager(owner?) that helped us out both times were very nice. We had little kids with us, and they were very engaging, getting the kids super excited with a few free samples of chocolate. Who wouldn’t get excited about that?! MENU– as one might imagine they have ALL kinds of chocolate concoctions. The day we went, they were giving samples of chocolate covered potato chips. They had both dark and milk chocolate chips on that day. In addition to lovely chocolate, they have ice cream from Guerseny(sp.) Farms. If you’re jonesing for something sweet, this is your spot no doubt. FOOD– I could tell you how great the chocolate is(and it is), but let me just say salted caramel and chocolate ice cream is REDONKULOUS. I swear, that ice cream alone would make me want to go back to this place. This may top any ice cream I have ever had… EVER. OVERALL– Love this place! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. And if you’re dining some place in downtown Plymouth, skip dessert and come here, you won’t be sorry(unless you’re lactose intolerant, then, and only then should you consider skipping out). Just got done eating dinner at Sardine Room and walked by this place. We stopped in and it’s a really cute store. They have everything from peanut clusters, chocolate dipped pretzels to carmel apples. We did buy a few marshmallows covered in chocolate and some peanut butter chocolates. Looking forward to eating them when we get home! Support local businesses ;)
