It’s better than zimgermans y’all I work close by so I visit once a week. I’m not a big fan of sandwiches, but this one is pretty good. Consistent too. Get their #3 One time, the owner(?)/manager(?) recognized me and gave me and my coworker complimentary sodas, and offered to sample their soup to complement my leftover sandwich. Just shows that they really care about their customers. What kind of sandwich shop checks up on their customers who are dining in? Blew my mind.

We got corned beef #2. If you want it warm ask for it… the beef was good but the bread was dry and cold, cheese not melted. Very over priced for how they make it. The man at the register was not very friendly and just took our money without telling us the total, we had to ask. Pickles were good though.

I love this place! They use Sy Ginsberg corned beef and it’s the best you can get. The parking is lousy at lunch time, but you won’t regret waiting for a spot once you try their food. I used to live near this place, but moved a bit further away, so I don’t get there as often. It’s well worth the drive to pick up a sandwich for lunch.

Just got back from lunch at Detroit Ham and Corned Beef. My mom and I were driving down 5 Mile looking for somewhere good for lunch when we spotted this little restaurant. We checked the Unilocal review and decided to give it a try. It’s a nice clean little place. Seating for about 10, maybe. We both for the junior sized corned beef sandwich, which had ¼ pound of beef on rye bread. It was $ 6.99/sandwich. It was a great sandwich. I got the leaner meat and it really was excellent. The bread was nice and soft with a hard crust. We would definitely go back. Good value! The employees were really friendly, too!

A teeny little sandwich shop nestled in the strip mall close to 5& Beck. When I say little, I mean little. It seats 8 people. So to go it was… Of the sandwiches I tried,(I made everyone give me bites of theirs) I liked the BBQ Pork the best. But I will fill you in on the whole smorgasborg. First up, their signature sandwich the #1 a ham and cheese on a poppy seed roll. It was ok. As a ham lover, I like the ham but the roll was really dry and kinda stale. I enjoyed my bite ok, but was glad it wasn’t my order. My friend ended up just picking the ham off and eating it. Next the #7: Turkey, coleslaw, cheese russian dressing on grilled bread. Pretty good. I enjoyed my bite… but it didn’t beat the pork… The pulled pork was the best of the 3. Tangy… it had a good portion of meat. Nothing like OMG I will never finish it size… I finished mine, but it a generous portion. The fries were AWESOME. Skip the Mac and Cheese it was… honestly…kinda gross. So why the 3’s and not 5? Well stale bread on most of the sandwiches, bleh. Not so good, almost inedible Mac and Cheese, bleh. And honestly for almost $ 10 for a sandwich I expected to kinda be wow’ed.

I have had the corned beef and turkey reuben sandwiches here. They are the best sandwiches that I have had in the Metro Detroit area! Couple these sandwiches with the waffle fries and you have a fantastic meal. Great customer service makes this an overall favorite foodie spot for our family.

This is where you want to go if you are craving an awesome corned beef or Rueben sandwich. The small is more than enough, but sometime we splurge on the large. Cole slaw is delicious. This place is a hidden gem. There are a few tables but better for take out than eating in. And you have to love a small business who will run a sandwich down to my haircut spot(Salon on 5) if the are closing before my haircut appointment is over.

I needed my corned beef fix so I drove over to get it. Also I missed the hospitality of Gus and Frank. I ordered my normal #3 large size and a drink. Then while seated waiting for my sandwich to be prepared Frank offered my a cup of soup to try. The chicken noodle was great. The girls working the counter were pleasant and polite and worked well together manning the phones and counter alike. Most appreciated was the reaction to cleaning tables as people left. I love this place.

I like the mashed potatoes better than the Mac and cheese. I got the corned beef delux Jr. and my father got the regular corned beef. Both were great. My dad said he thinks this is the best corned beef around.

Had the # 13 Large Pastrami with corned beef added as extra meat with Russian dressing and coleslaw added also with all of that the sandwich was still the size as a regular size sandwich bread slices where too thick but it was just an okay sandwich compared to the old school Detroit Pastrami and corned beef that you would get in Detroit from the other places

YES!!! a new sandwich place to add to my rotation! Service is superb. The guy who waited on me was so nice, patient as I pondered my choices, and had a gorgeous smile. Got a lg Reuben, small Mac and large bean ham — all to split with hubs– $ 19 Cons– carry out of hot sandwich in foam container equals soggy sandwich– PRO– sandwich so good that we didn’t care. The corned beef was tender, melt in your mouth, heaven. Good ratio of other ingredients — we don’t recall seeing any Swiss on it . Mac cheese meh. It was ok. Not creamy ooey gooey Mac. It tasted like real cheese and not that cafefeteria gross fake crap. The bean soup was heeeeeeeaven! I only had 4 bites and hubs devoured the rest. I was pleasantly full so no prob. it’s the best– pricey but so worth it. This will be my winter soup place!

Pros: Great corned beef. Excellent bean and ham soup. Proud owners, who really want for you to enjoy your meal. (Slight) Cons: Small interior, which likely gets too full at lunch. Shared strip mall parking lot. Small menu. Closes early.

I really like the sandwiches at DHC. I have tried two different Turkey sandwiches and have really likes them both, especially the one with the Gouda cheese on it. Today I tried the turkey Rueben with a side of the bean and ham soup, both were VERY good! The service was excellent, the food was fresh and served hot. The only negative is that it’s primarily a take out place, they have a couple of tables, but not to sit down and enjoy a meal. We used them at work to cater a meal and they were a huge success. The turkey Rueben was the jr size with soup was $ 9.00. Very reasonable and their rye bread is very good and also fresh. I will be back!

Great corned beef but no bathroom for customers really? Thought that was a requirement of any restaurant.
