We decided to treat ourselves on the evening of January 5, 2016 and went to the Sky Club with the expectation of having a wonderful meal. We ordered ½ rack of ribs each. It was the worst meal either one of us ever had. We were charged $ 46 in total for a meal I would not feed my dog. The Ribs were disgusting and tasted like they were warmed up with the most disgusting BBQ Sauce imaginable. The ribs looked like they were boiled. The clamp chowder we had was exceptionally salted and was equally awful. The twice baked potato was dry and tasteless. In 71 years I have never had such a bad meal. Warning. Don’t go there. You will be treated to the worse meal you have ever had. We will never go there again.

My wife found a Supper Club ad or something on the internet and wanted to check some out. The Sky Club was only 2 hours from the home so we took a drive on Saturday. When you get to the place you will be unimpressed from the exterior.(Don’t judge a book by it’s cover though) They need to put up some signage on where the front entrance is though. I am told a lot of work went into the interior and it shows. It is warm and inviting and laid out so that a couple can have a fairly intimate experience. They advertise as having the first Salad Bar(1950) in the country. Not sure but it was very nice.(should label the dressings though) We paid the extra $ 4.50 and upgraded the onion soup to Baked French Onion and were not disappointed. Though it seemed to me a little steep when soup was already included with the meal. My wife had the steak and lobster and was not disappointed in either. The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was oh so sweet. We both had the twice baked potatoes and were disappointed. It seems like they might be made ahead of time and heated up as needed rather than made up fresh. We recommend going with the baked potato or French Fries. The old fashion drink was top notch and is what all Wisconsin Supper Clubs should be judged on. If we are in the area again we will be sure to stop again.

A shadow of what was apparently its former self. I went with a group. Most of them had been multiple times and had raved about the place. Except for the service, that was not our experience this time. They were out of several of their signature entrees. Explanation was they only order so much and they were out. Seems strange as there was a big fishing tournament and a huge car show in town, you would have thought they would have planned a bit better. We were warned off one of the featured entrees. The alternative entrée several of us chose were steaks. They were well prepared, but not very good quality steaks. They had significant gristle in them, one party members was about 50%. They also failed to advise that the grilled onions and mushrooms added $ 6 to the cost of a mediocre steak. Servers were very attentive, and for the most part very professional. One was a bit flippant, which was amusing to begin with, but became annoying after extended exposure. Salad bar was okay, nice selection of salads, though I would have appreciated a few more topping options for the green salad and a label on the dressings. The soups were strange. They had root vegetable and french onion. The root vegetable was the consistency of baby food, one in our party thought it was okay, another feel it was inedible. The :“French” onion soup was interesting as well. There was no bread in it and no cheese on it; onion soup, yes, but not French. Additionally, lacking in flavor. I was also a bit miffed that the offered drink refills engendered an additional cost. Would not have been a good value and 50% of my meal cost. Also for some reason there is no sign out front, so you have to know where you are going.

My husband reserved here for our anniversary, also it was Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was at 8:00 but we didn’t get seated until 8:45. They seemed unorganized and did things the old fashion way. They had a salad bar which had iceberg lettuce, spinach, slices of radishes, veggies with dip, potato salad, etc. It was alright. Our server was awesome and attentive. She answered a lot of questions my husband had relating to the food. She was knowledgable about the menu. The Prime Rib was delicious! Husband had the 6oz steak and 5oz lobster. It came with a ton of fries. Décor is very outdated but there’s plenty of seating. I just wish I wasn’t seated so close to the bar. A bunch of drunks watched us eat and talked about how delicious the food looked. It wasn’t pleasant.

Ordered take out Margherita pizza. One standard size of 14″, final amount w/o tip was $ 20. Crust was too perfect to be hand made. First bite and an overwhelming amount of salt was all you could taste. Tomatoes had no taste and there was very little basil on it. Fair amount of cheese. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Our dogs liked the blackened crust we gave them. At least somebody was happy.

Sky Club is one of the best restaurants to go to in central Wisconsin. There are limited four and five star restaurants in the area Sky Club is the best of all of them. The meat and seafood are always fresh and the staff is always friendly I always look forward to my next visit.

Decades ago, it’s clear that the Sky Club was the place to go for fine cuisine in the Stevens Point area. It’s still priced that way — although everything points to the contrary from my visits. Sunday Brunch at Sky Club was a disappointment. The selection was small, bland, and uninspired. Like the décor, I suspect that their menu is geared toward aged palates. Dinners at Sky Club Include tomato juice(??) or soup, salad bar, bread and a potato option. I was underwhelmed by the salad bar, despite it’s claim to be ’”Home of the First EVER Salad Bar in the world… «circa 1950. There’s a plentiful supply of iceberg lettuce, radishes, cottage cheese and clumpy or gelatinous salads. Overall, the selection was sparse and outdated for the added price. Fish Fry includes bread, coleslaw and potato option. Salad bar is $ 4 more(pass). You get 2 pieces of haddock for $ 8 or 4 for $ 11. The batter is light, but the pieces we received were soggy on the bottom side. We left half of our ‘catch’ uneaten. Baked haddock is $ 13 and steamed veggies will cost an additional $ 3. They have a parmesan crusted Haddock that’s a better option. Drinks are overpriced, but plentiful, and their bar area has an enjoyable retro feel. It’s a better place for cocktails than meals, so I wish they had asked us to wait longer at the bar(grin). Dining décor is dark and dated, but clean. Looks like they are in the middle of an update.

My favorite part about this restaurant is the salad bar.
