It looks like it didn’t take long for the security to cause people to stop trying to go here. So sad because the management and the VIP hosts were awesome. Beautiful place.

Status Nightclub is now known as Neo Lounge. Last time I was there was two years ago when it was Aura. The décor has changed but the club has not. The security scouts the line(which is only there because they open the doors late to create the illusion that its a popular club with a line) for hot girls to take to another line. They aren’t in New York or LA. It is trying very hard to be a trendy club but you can’t have that in a strip mall in Pleasanton. There is no air conditioning in the club. I was there with a group that had been invited to perform for the club opening. A bouncer completely freaked out on them and shoved one of the girls without a reason. It was a very unfortunate experience. You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig!

Ummm not so much… it’s done-zo. As of tomorrow, it’s Playhouse. I guess it’s going to be more of a 99.7 thing, so maybe more poppy and house-y music than anything. I dunno… after the death of Aura and then… well, let’s face it, Status never even lived… do I really want to put myself through another ‘reincarnation’ of that poor old building? Eh… maybe. Well give me a break, it’s down tha fuckin street and gas is EXPENSIVE. That alone is worth the possible(likely?) letdown. I can use the ten dollars I’ve saved from the drive to the Overpriced City to pay for An Overpriced Drink in Pleasanton.

Been here a few times so far for GNO and Birthdays. The club is kinda big with 2 rooms main dance floor and a smaller red room? but every time i been there the 2nd room has only been opened once, i guess cause it never gets busy from what i see. The club is really nice, with nice V.I.P section and they play ok music but its just not that crackn.

The last time I went to this place was when it was still Aura. I came here for a friend’s birthday, and she reminded us that we needed to be on the guestlist for free entry before 10pm, otherwise it would be $ 20 cover. I walked in and noticed they had redecorated the club to have more of a Vegas style. There was blue accent lighting all over the main room, the DJ booth was a circular setup in the middle, but to me it looked sort of well, tacky. Bartenders were friendly, music was mediocre, but the drinks weren’t that strong for what I was paying.

Looks like we got a sticky situation. From the popular MTV show Jersey Shore, «The Situation» decided to make an appearance at Status Nightclub this past weekend. My cousins, brother and a few friends decided to check this place out simply because of the J.S. «Juicehead». Hmmm so ONE good thing was that my cousin and I got to meet the Situation. I think that was the highlight of the night… which doesn’t really say much… no offense Mike! The location is totally random. How are you going to have a club that is in the same plaza as Chilli’s? That just threw us off completely. I think it was at that point where I knew this was going to be a night I was NOT going to forget… haha. So we enter the club and there is no line. hmm shocker? It was too bright inside for a club. You could see everyone miles away and from my experience clubs are usually dim… right? The music… sucked. I don’t even know what to say about it. It felt like the DJ just decided to put his iPod on shuffle. It was all over the place. Yuck! Not worth the drive from San Jose :(

I’ve been a couple of times since my last review so I thought I’d update it, sadly, I can’t add stars. I have yet to see the place very busy and the people that are there stand around like an 8th grade dance. Some tips for the owner: — If there’s no crowd, put people in the red room then open the blue room as it gets busier, no one wants to party in an empty aircraft hangar — If I can hear the song on the radio, I don’t need to hear it in the club, get DJ’s who can remix or bring new music to the night — DJ booth in the middle means that the DJ can’t see when he’s hitting the right song if the people are dancing behind him, this ended up happening a lot — It’s freezing in there The bartenders and bouncers are damned friendly. Too bad it looks like they’ll be looking for jobs soon. Even if the club doesn’t go out of business the bartenders simply can’t afford to work at a spot that doesn’t do enough bar business. Unless some serious changes are made, me and my crowd won’t be back. Sorry, Status, I really tried to like you.

All the reviews have pretty much hit the marker. I live down the street and really hoped this place would jump off. The décor is sick, blue room with waterfalls behind the bar and a snow sorta theme, the red room with a fire type of theme. Like some Vegas clubs, but in Pleasanton, uh yea. I love nightlife and have been dancing the night away for most of my life now in clubs all over the nation, and since I am a neighbor I really would like to see this place do well so… 1. Get some girl bartenders, I would, and most other guys, who usually buy the drinks anyway, will tip better. 2. I don’t have any complaints but I’ve heard and read it… Get rid of the employees who don’t know how to provide customer service, bartenders, bouncers, and managers! 3. Don’t make people wait. should be part of no. two but I wanted to keep it clear. 4. I would only suggest charging at the door on nights when you have both rooms open, in other words a crowded club. Especially if you’re going to charge Vegas prices for drinks. 5. They went about their marketing all wrong. Bring people in by whatever means possible. The décor and some good customer service will keep them coming back. Maybe set up Industry nights and market to every restaurant in the Tri-Valley, maybe a promoting street team is needed, maybe have some great bay area radio station DJ’s. They will bring in people. Focus on customers who don’t go out every Fri & Sat night… The couples on dates or 25 – 40 crowd. Maybe a discount Locals night. That will bring the college crowd. Specials for birthdays. Just a few recommendations… 6. I was lucky enough to listen to some great A-list DJ’s a few times I’ve been there. Unfortunately the DJ’s had no one to play to so they weren’t thrilled to be there. Again, get some people in there and then pay the big bucks for the A-listers. 7. Do they have a coat check? If not, get one, it’s supposed to be fine night life. Last but least, remember the people who come there regularly, and give them special treatment… ;) It’s gonna take some work and some changes but I am confident this can be the go to spot for fine night life, great music and dancing the night away!

The red carpet is out, and a rope(along with a big scary bouncer) is the only thing separating me from the entrance of Status. We’re waiting. And waiting. And waiting some more. «Wow, it must be crowded.» Someone in the group said. «That party must be off the CHAIN* — no one has even left yet.» We were getting pretty anxious and just wanted to get a drink in a town devoid of bars. Finally, the bouncer says that we can come in if we pay a $ 20 cover charge. We negotiated the price down to $ 5 and made our way into a bar, complete with lasers, strobe lights, and blaring house music. Want to know how many people were in the bar when we got there? 2. Okay, 4 if you count the bartender and the Macbook DJ. Well drinks on weeknights will set you back $ 4 until 11pm, when they will then cost around $ 10 for a cup of ice and a few droplets of vodka. Status was kind enough to accommodate requests for beer pong, but there is something about playing this drinking game classic in a bar that is carpeted that’s kind of gross. * The guy who used 90s slang in our group was obviously really excited by all of the classics like«I’m a Dreamer» and«Finally.»

Was here with my bubby for a date on Friday night and it was not that packed. You could actually remember almost everyone in the club. I like the décor in there and the music was the kind we like.

First of all, the venue is really nice. Probably one of the nicest venues I’ve been to. There is a blue room with a DJ in the center and a red room both equipped with bars and male bartenders. There are also plenty of places to sit down. The weird thing is that it’s sort of located in a shopping center… I guess an upside to that is that there are less cops. I went here with the best friend for ladies night expecting free goodies and shirtless guys serving us cupcakes… Status pulled through and we experienced all of those! The only downsides: –This place was crawling with swamp donkeys, so guys beware! –The place never got really that crowded. It was pretty dead for a Friday night. –The DJ repeated a lot of songs. Overall, if you’re looking to escape the Asianess of downtown San Jose, I’d come to Status.

Came here last night with the husband for our best friends birthday. There was 20 of us and we all had a blast! No cover last night since it was only 1 room. However with the main room and the bottle service and booth it was loads of fun! Love the décor everything was blue and white. Sound system was banging. Did hear couple songs being repeated but the music was good! defin u can dance too and shit who cares when your straight faded u dont care lol. also It wasnt pack till about 11pm. The crowd was very diverse and there were all age groups. Which I dont mind. love seeing old couples get down. We werent trippin bout it not being pack shoot more room to dance and no bitches bumpin into you. Staff was very nice and not bossy, very friendly. I defin would return just because its closer and its a place to go dance and have a great time with friends. Dont over analyze things and just go with the flow. Shit its ptown so the bz’s are pretty hot ;)

This place is weak. I guess it’s in Pleasanton so… no high expectations anyways. A bouncer pushed one of my roommates over after last call. Thought he heard him call him white trash. What? Ok… The smoking area is next to the entrance and tiny so it looked like the club was packed. Don’t be fooled! I honestly don’t see this place going far. I met some of the promoters(they are really good people), i even know some of the djs(and they’re awesome too), but I get really negative vibes off the rest of the staff. One good thing: for the Christmas party they greased up the dance floor(to be like an ice rink). Drunk people falling everywhere!!! Extremely unsafe and hilarious.

I haven’t even been to this place and I think it’s lame enough to come write a review… Why you ask? This is why… One of Status’s douchebag MALE promoters decided to steal several pictures of me and one of my girlfriends to make a FAKE female facebook to promote this place that given what everyone else is reviewing SUCKS… and then when I emailed them to ask why, I get blocked. LMFAO. Way to get me to come to your club dumb-dumb. Can I get a comp table since I apparently work there??? I used to promote & work in clubs I saw some shady things, but really? Fake chick profiles? Blocking girls that you apparently wouldnt mind in your club? Really, really bad business. They’ve now blocked several of my friends too. Club promotion at its finest. Keep up the Douchebag status work Status. I’d hate to see how you’d treat me to my face.

This place was«Alright» for a P-Town club. Bouncers instigated nothing fights, bartenders served weak drinks, luckily pre-drinking took place. The owner\bouncer threw a friend of mine on the ground after last call after he thought he «overheard» him call him white trash. Don’t see this place going very far, deader than a door nail, even with good dj’s in the house room.

Never again. $ 20 cover charge for guys and girls. The arrogant door guys think it’s better than the best club in Vegas so they treat you not as a customer but like you are inferior to them. Guess what? You are door men at a club in Pleasanton next to a Kinders. Once you get past them and you and your entire party pays $ 20 to get in, a pretty much dead club awaits you inside with over priced, weak drinks in plastic cups. Good luck, Status but the future is not looking hot when you treat people like crap and charge to much.

Status is the new Aura, which was so 4 years ago. Same location, but different management and look and feel. It’s a lot nicer with the remodel with it’s blue and white theme. Very classy. Came here last weekend because my friend was promoting here. I had fun, but it was a little bit dead. I remember the old Aura in it’s prime and miss it because that was the only nightlife going for Pleasanton and it was always packed when I came. Nice club and the bartenders were a hit or miss. A couple of them were nice, but one in particular was a little rude and tried to avoid me because he knew all I wanted was water. Really? Having ppl pass out from dehydration or throw up on the dance floor is not good for business sir.
