So slow, every single time, 20 – 30 minutes for a cold sandwich or a salad, not taking about a pizza.

Very expensive! The bacon avacoda Sandwhich is very good. However, it is about 15 dollars per person. Would recommend for special occasions. The service is great!

This place is great! I had the tuna calzone that the guy there recommended and it was so tasty! I like the look and feel of the place, and the service was really nice too! Will definitely be back!

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. Some lunch favorites: The Chinese Chicken salad, their Chicken Caesar wrap, and their butternut squash soup is a MUST have in fall and winter. Love their scratch biscuit egg sandwiches for breakfast. While they brew Peets not sure what they do, but their drip tastes better than when I get it at Peets.(Sorry Peets! I love you guys … not sure why it’s different though…) The staff is always nice and attentive. Definitely a great place to meet up with a friend for a mealtime catch up or Saturday before or after the Farmer’s Market.

I waited almost 45 minutes for a breakfast sandwich — enough said. It wasn’t busy(now I know why) and I overheard many asking or cancelling orders due to the wait.

Solid place. A bit overpriced if you ask me. The chicken Caesar salad was good. But not for the $ 13 I paid for it. There were a lot of flies flying around and I had to keep swatting them away from my food. The guy who worked register seemed a little disinterested when I was trying to give him my order. Would want some better customer service.

3.5 stars. The egg, bacon and swiss biscuit is what keeps us coming back. There’s this sauce on it that is so savory and memorable. Good quality food, made when you order it. The service is very polite, as well. However, the wait for food is long, so don’t go if you’re hungry for something quick. And it’s a little expensive, too. $ 35 for 2 breakfast biscuits, a side of potatoes, a pastry, latte and a mocha. Not too bad, just a little surprising.

I haven’t been to eat here in a while. I feel like the food isn’t as good as it used to be. I had the chicken pesto sandwich. It was pretty bland, especially for having pesto on it. My bf had the tuna calzone. He said he wouldn’t get it again. Not a lot flavor. He said he was excited to try it because of all of the ingredients but just didn’t have much flavor. A little pricey too. Almost $ 40 for 2 people to have lunch. Not worth it unfortunately. 2 stars for the location and being able to sit outside. Our service was good too. I don’t think we will be back.

We frequent this restaurant and are always happy with the friendly service and great food. I highly recommend the Tuna BLT! You can also get ½ of this sandwich(still large) with a salad, which is a great deal. I also love their pizza! This is the best option in Downtown Pleasanton for quality food at a reasonable price. My one warning is that sometimes the food takes a while to come out, but that is the trade-off for such a popular place.

The spinach chicken salad is to die for. I actually feel sad when I eat my last bite because it tastes so good I don’t want it to be over. The ingredients are fresh and the chicken is moist. It’s light and filling at the same time. One of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. The breakfast sandwiches are also amazing.

My daughter recommended the Chicken Caesar salad because of the large portions of chicken and the great dressing. Well she was right. There is an abundance of delicious chicken that comes with the salad. Ordered an extra side of dressing and have to say this was the best Caesar Salad I have had in a long time.

Overpriced sandwiches especially for the size and when compared to Ike’s, but they were good. Slow cooks, it took over 10 minutes for just 2 sandwiches to get to us. The place is small and cozy, in downtown Pleasanton, but there are flies everywhere and only one bathroom.

The owners need to teach the kids that work here some manners. 2 stars because the salads are great.

I recently had my first and last visit to this restaurant. I was looking for a meatless lunch option so I ordered a veggie cheese burger. I paid $ 9 plus tax and waited almost 10 minutes for what was supposed to be a «Black bean spicy chipolte burger, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, choice of cheese». I ordered it to go so by the time I got to my destination, mouth watering and hungry, I opened the box to find a Costco frozen black bean burger which had been heated and placed in a regular hamburger bun with iceberg lettuce and tomato. I instantly knew it was a Costco burger because I buy them all the time. I would expect this from a kids softball convenience stand but not a restaurant. A place where their only job is to make food! They advertise themselves as serving fresh delicious meals so if it wasn’t a frozen burger, it had a scary resemblance. By the way, $ 9 did not even include fries so I had to eat it anyways. Overall, I am not surprised because as I waited for my food I begin to notice that this place was pushing anything out the door they could sale. It’s like they could’t commit to an identity: coffee shop, bar, pizza parlor, diner, comfort food.

I cant say much about this place as I’ve only had the coffee! It’s casual and has lots of room and a variety of food. The locals seem to love it. Perhaps I’ll be back.

So, we stop in to Café Main where we usually get lunch after the farmers market. Never had an issue in the past. Today, when I ordered the Pesto Chicken sandwich and side salad all was good… until I had the gall to ask for the pesto on the side. I got both the«eye roll» and«huffy breath» from Johnny the clerk. As I continued my order and asked for the salad dressing on the side then the attitude really ramped up. We will have to see how the order actually show up… and while sitting here writing this, he comes out to clean a table and I over hear him bitching about«privileged Pleasanton people who were born with a silver spoon». «Café Main, come for the food, stay for the attitude» is perhaps their new business slogan. The food finally showed up and big surprise the pesto wasn’t on the side! Johnny if your upset about working 13 hour days and 2 jobs like you were complaining about in the front. Perhaps you need to reevaluate your life.

I have gone here for years, so I hate to leave a negative review, but Café Main earned one the week before last. I was in a bit of a hurry for lunch(had about 30 minutes). My partner and I came in and ordered a half BLTA+half Caesar salad and a chinese chicken salad, respectively. We grabbed a seat outside and waited for the food. And waited. And waited. We asked the server after about 15 minutes, he said(with some attitude I would mention) that it would be right up. My partner went in to check 5 minutes later and they said again it would be right up. Meanwhile, lots of to-go orders were being filled and people who came after us were eating things already. I went in after another 3 minutes or so. A group of 5 people who came in at least 7 or 8 minutes behind us were all eating! My partner’s salad«appeared» to be done but my sandwich wasn’t even started yet! Since I had no time left before my conference call at 1, I switched things to take out and stood there while they whipped things together(finally). When we got back to the office all grumpy — surprise — my partner’s chinese chicken salad had no chicken in the box at all. None. Zero. So he enjoyed like 70 calories for lunch. If I hadn’t have been in a hurry I’da gone back and complained or gotten a refund or whatever. Anyway, sorry but Café Main blew it. Not going back. Too many other better choices. KYAG

When I want to study or have a casual chat with friends in downtown pleasanton, I always come here. Tully’s is right across from the restaurant, but I’d never go there because why? The staff are friendly and personable. Good place for study, chat, hanging out, etc. They have really cheap beer too if you’re on a budget it’s less than 5 bucks and sometimes free refills – they are really generous with refills. Their pizza and sandwiches are so good. I recommend mt diablo for spice lovers.

To be upfront… I can’t say much about the food but I want to give a big high five to the kitchen staff today. All I wanted was a SUPER simple turkey sandwich, no panini action, no pesto or the fancy stuff. Mayo, tomato, turkey, lettuce and cheese. Unfortunately this cost me 11 dollars(they charged a turkey cranberry and just modified to the simple toppings I wanted, felt like an overcharge, but it is what it is. + my cheese was missing :() This review is mostly to give a big high five to the kitchen, they stepped up in a rough moment and busted their booty to get food out after a new cook walked out on them! At first I was annoyed, my food was taking forever, I had seen about 2 – 3 other people be annoyed and ask about it, and next thing I knew I look up to see the cook walking out! I think to myself, this is a BAD time to be leaving the kitchen during service, but then next thing I know I am overhearing the kid behind the bar calling what I assume is the manager explaining that their new cook just walked out on them… The next 1o minutes I watched the guy in the kitchen work his ass off to get back on schedule and get everyone what they needed. So even though it was a rough beginning, I have much respect for their handwork and am willing to give it a second chance in the near future. Overview: Don’t come here for a quick deli sandwich, but make sure you give a hat tip to the guys working behind the counter in the kitchen.

Well Gay 90’s was too crowded so tried to see if this place was any good. Definitely not!!! $ 33.00 for a large half cheese and half pepperoni and sausage and two sodas. One slice of the pepperoni and sausage side had only one piece of pepperoni and another slice barely had three. So I raised the rating up to two, because they re-made us a new pizza. Was ok, but not anywhere near the quality of places like gay 90’s — Frankie Johnny and luigis — or ascona pizza. They put more toppings on the pepperoni and sausage side on the re-make however based on my first pizza, the extra toppings may be the exception instead of the norm.
