I’ve been here a few times. Came here on a rainy night, but it was pretty busy. Guy was scratching his body under parts of clothes that should never be scratched in public. The service was very slow. Very slow. The burger was tasty as were the fried mushrooms. Prices were pretty high for a strip mall burger place. I’d eat here again, but you can get better burgers at George’s.

If I could give burger road 0 stars I would, service was slow, I got my food, went outside to make a phone call, they threw my food out. They still charged me and I didn’t get my food. I’m calling visa to dispute because I didn’t. Sign and they still charged me. Hopefully the owner will make it right cause I have no problem standing outside his business outside boycotting it. Please don’t go here they will rip you off.

I used to live very close to this place, so it almost goes without saying that I have frequented the place a lot. It has changed owners at least twice in recent times. This last time it has changed hands is a definite turn for the worse. It now lacks the small town, family feel of the place, and the prices have increased. Quality of food is sub-standard and the staff is ill-informed of how to make garlic fries! The place is a huge disappointment. The place has gone downhill so far, I would not be surprised to see a «For Lease» sign out soon.

We went to Burger Road for dinner. Talk about attitude! We came in @ 7:55(not knowing they close at 8) Instead of saying I’m sorry we’re closing soon, they were grumbling under their breath, slamming our food around and then the cook cranked up the stereo to Eminem. Very unprofessional! Never going back there again!

You know, I’m gonna have to change my score to a 3 star. I think the food is just fine, it is my kids favorite place… I just think it is a little over priced. The food is decent, but the place itself could use a good scrub down.

BEWARE! Burger Road has gotten stingy with the beef! They advertise 1⁄3 pound burgers and in the past they were always thick and juicy… But tonight they were as thin and lifeless as your standard McDonalds patty. Very very disappointing. And when we(a group of long time Burger Road customers) brought up our disappointment, we were told nothing had changed in a kind of «proved you wrong» kind of way. VERYDISAPPOINTING. We’ve been coming here for 12 years, but now not sure when we’ll be back.

We went here with a coupon and we were so sad to even spend that money. This was the worst burger we have had in the bay area. The patty seemed like it was frozen burger and was without any flavor. Even the lemonade tasted like watered down Country Time. I will give a place at least two tries before I give me thoughts on it, but this was so bad I do not think I could ever go back until ownership changes.

It was ok. Definitely a divey, worn down sort of place. My father-in-law took us, because he likes the burgers here. They did have a semi-interesting assortment. I can’t comment on the burger, because I chose to get a veggie pattie. But I did get the German style, which came with sauerkraut. Really liked the sauerkraut idea, but other than that there wasn’t much to the pattie. It made a decent sandwich and that’s pretty much it. Their small basket of fries is HUGE! Four of us couldn’t finish it.

Yeah, I went for breakfast instead of Lunch/Dinner for a burger, so sue me. Breakfast was good, I had the corned beef hash and two huevos over easy w/hash browns. All was good, though, not my fav corned beef hash. The hash browns, though, were plentiful and cooked crispy, just the way i like them. The place is small but quaint. The service is quick but unattentive. The food is good but not extraordinary. All in all, a solid joint for a quick breakfast. I’ll go back and try a burger soon, maybe the cow will get me to boost this middling rating. Ya feel me?

This place was very clean and I thought the cheeseburger I got was really good. The fries were ok. My boyfriend didn’t think it was that good at all. The service was pretty bad… slow and young kids with bad attitudes. The price wasn’t too bad and they had a lot of good options. A few months later– We went back again with some friends and had a much better experience! The food was great and the service was MUCH better than the first time! It was packed too but we managed to get a seat at the counter which was kind of fun! This is probably a great place to bring the family! It also has very reasonable prices!

Take to the highway won’t you lend me your name Your way and my way seem to be one and the same Gayle don’t understand it She wants to know where her man’s been I’d have to be some kind of natural born fool To want to pass that way again But I could feel it On a Burger Road… I stopped in the other night for very good fresh cut fries and a decent cheeseburger. The location is casual and almost Midwest in down home friendliness, linoleum, a pinball machine, and a counter. Breakfast, beer, and hand scooped shakes are also available and not necessarily in that order.

Count me as one of your few fans, as I thoroughly enjoyed my food both times I have eaten there. The young servers are always polite and attentive. The fries are better than In & Out and the burgers are cooked to perfection. The shakes are big and they even give you whats left and doesn“t fit in the glass. This burger joint is so good that I’m going there tonight! :-)

It’s too bad– the food is good, but it’s run by VERY young people that have no concept of running a business. The service is horrible, that never changes. We used to go to the old location which was great. However since the new owner took over they’ve been running it into the ground. The online service never works, and you never know when it’s open! We’ve driven by many times during their posted open hours and the chairs are up and the lights are down. The few times we have been in the service was never right, they always screwed something up. the burgers are good, but not worth the hassle of getting them, we’ll never be back. If the owner is readying these– you’re staff is ripping you off. She explained to us that they don’t write the sodas up on the check, that we could pay cash for those. We looked at each other in AMAZEMENT at her boldness for cash! A sad loss to what was once a cool place on Contra Costa Blvd. PS– all three times at the new local– fries were soggy and greasy– what’s up with that?

I was surprised by all the low-star reviews. ‘Cause I just went here last night with hubby, and had a couple of tasty/perfect burgers, fries, and a float. The waiter was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. Offered a refill of soda for our float, etc. I was put off by the fact that it appeared to be run and operated by kids(by «kids» I mean people who look 18 – 22). I had doubts about how the food would turn out… but I was put in my place, because young age didn’t take away from any aspect of our visit. The only thing I’d change about this place is petty: they have this old looking hotel-lobby type carpeting. It just doesn’t fit with the diner feel, and it’s probably way filthier than linoleum would be.

A disappointment, to say the least. The service is extremely slow and disorganized, as is the time it takes to get the food. The attitude sucked, the waitress made us all feel like dicks for asking for a refill. It was very apparent that we were inconveniencing them by being there. I usually think that people who write reviews bitching about service are stuck up and fussy, but not true for us. It was just THATBAD. The fries were terrible. They came out undercooked(very soft) or soaked with grease and undercooked. The burgers themselves were decent, but way too much mayonnaise. No one asks how you like it cooked, which means anywhere from medium rare to well done. Also, I felt like shit no less than 10 minutes after eating there. Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else for a burger.

I’ve sort of been on an unofficial quest to try all the local burger joints and after looking up a few reviews on Unilocal,I was off to Burger Road. I checked out their website and they do have a pretty spiffy online ordering system, but being mistrustful, I decided to call in my order. The girl on the phone was very nice and told me it would be about 15 minutes. I got their 10 minutes later and my order was already ready. Usually I wouldn’t complain about my food being done early, but my garlic fries were getting pretty soggy. I was also slightly put off by the paper bag containing the fries which was quickly turning transparent with grease. The fries were still pretty good, but I’d save them for when you’re eating there. Maybe I’ll try one of their seasoned fries next. Again, my burger was good, but nothing to rave about. They don’t ask you how you want your burger and well done seems to be the default. I had the British Burger and I’m not sure what makes it British since it’s bacon and Swiss cheese. The cheese glued the bacon, burger and top bun together. Like seriously — I wanted to lift the bun up to get a look at the bacon and it wouldn’t come off. Maybe it’s because I had take out, but the bun was also falling apart, which made it hard to eat. I’d come back to give this place another try, maybe after a trip to the Sun Valley Mall. I’m curious to try their breakfasts!

Sometimes a girl just needs a hamburger. I’ve been here half a dozen times. I only go when I’m craving a hamburger and fries. The garlic fries are best shared with friends. Make sure that everyone at your table eats at least a few so that no one is self conscious about their garlic breath. They have an amazing selection of hamburgers. It’s overwhelming really, so I usually just panic when everyone else is ready to order and get the blue swiss burger. It’s tasty but my opinion is limited to that selection. I suggest deciding beforehand what kind of burger you want(beef, chicken, turkey) and a possible list of toppings. That should help narrow down your selection. The food is not the highest quality but it’s appropriate for the price. The wait staff are very nice but sometimes a bit slow, even when the don’t seem very busy. Although I haven’t taken advantage of it yet, you can call ahead your order. That would probably be a good idea if you want to be in and out of there in a more timely manner.

So I’ve been here quite a few times because a friend of mine eats nothing but milkshakes, french fries and flapjacks. I shit you not, he is very picky. So while he comes for the awesome fries, I’ve eaten a wide variety of the food here. It reminds me of a small town café. While it’s not my first place to eat when I’m with anyone else, when I’m hanging around picky-magee, this is the place to be.
