While building is nice, the organization is not user friendly. Again, I showed up for a class I registered and paid for– and again they did not bother to call or email me that they cancelled the class. Why does a public agency not respect the time of its potential users.

The church hall was spoken for on the day of Dad’s memorial service so one of the church secretaries recommended I check for space at the new Senior Center. What a great idea. They were able to accommodate our group in their dining room on Saturday when I called on Monday afternoon. Ryan made everything so simple by emailing me a contract, letting me fax it back and taking my credit card over the phone. The day of the service the weather was dumping down rain, but the dining room was still well lit and gave the impression of being light and airy. All the staff onsite that day were kind, pleasant and helpful. The caterer was very happy with their experience arriving and setting up too. I could just keep going on and on about how happy we are with the space and how everything turned out, but you get the idea. I imagine if the weather had been sunny and nice the whole place would be even more wonderful. Pleasant Hill, you have a real treasure there with your Senior Center. Enjoy!

The new facility is nice and they are the nearest place to purchase the discounted bus passes(12 rides for $ 20). They also have an All-you-can-Eat PANCAKEBREAKFAST the 1st Sunday of every month 9−11am! The breakfast now gives you a choice between pancakes or french toast, 2 – 3 sausages, scrambled eggs and coffee or juice. Pros: Cheap breakfast on a Sunday Supporting the local Senior Center

Clean, lots of natural light, built in the last 2 or 3 years, busy center but not crowded. Seems well run. State of the art facilities, the residents of PH can be proud of their investment in their Seniors.

My dad is in his early 70s and struggles with many physical and emotional health issues. My mom died ten years ago and so he has faced growing old as a widow, living along, with only the support of me and my sister along the way. I thought that the Senior Citizens Pleasant Hill Center would be a great way for him to hook up with a peer counselor and lighten his depression and loneliness a little. Instead, the peer counselor and the Marriage-Family therapist(I had him see her when I realized that the peer counselor had no clue what she was doing) told my dad to «stop living in the past» when expressing sadness and depression about losing his wife and not getting the chance to say goodbye. By far, I have never heard of such bad counseling and highly encourage seniors and caretakers of seniors to look elsewhere for counseling and emotional support.
