Great live music and plenty of seating. Great location with a big lawn for kids to play. Lots of people bring dogs. Parking nearby is annoying because they want to steer you away from all the close parking lots for Bed Bath & Beyond and such. Much more people tend to come in the summer.

I give them 4 stars for not having that many trucks out. However, I enjoyed the home-like feeling. I’ve been to the fort mason one, which was big and crowded. This one did not have huge lines and irritated people. I went during the World Series and everyone Sat at the lawn area watching the game on the projection screen. There was a free raffle as well.

Good times but bring your own food, trucks not that great except for the lobster truck and bacon of course. Lucky 13 always has the same beer for the last two years and charges $ 7 for a beer with a $ 10 minimum on a card…

I really love that we have OTG in Pleasant Hill! I come here with the family every couple of weeks. We went last night when it was exceptionally crowded, so there were really long, slow lines at some of the trucks. I would say that’s the only real drawback, especially when everyone in your family wants to eat something from a different truck, which is usually the case with us. I tried the frozen custard truck for the first time last night and it was awesome! I also have enjoyed the Curry Up Now, some place where I got a KILLER veggie burger(can’t remember the name, though), Drewski’s is good, and the Lucky 13 beer truck always has a great selection. I tried the Lobstah Truck once, but wasn’t very impressed. I’m from New England, so maybe I’m too pick when it comes to lobster rolls. All in all, it’s a fun experience! Bring a blanket to sit on.

Well, what can I say? Yes, I went for my very first time last night. This was my first food truck round up experience, and, I could say I was very impressed! Of course me being cheap, and poor white trash, I didn’t buy any food at all. Our group had a set up on the lawn. There was tons of families there with little kids. Live music was playing, and fortunately not to loud. I wandered around and checked out each food truck to see what they offered, and how much they charge. The beer food truck was very popular, there is a Bacon food truck, one that serve’s Asian food, and many more options. In terms of parking, I parked a couple blocks away, and walked. It was a fun night out!!!

I love going to off the grid! This is a fun place to bring the fam, friends, or whoever is looking to get a bite to eat. With the big grass lawn behind the trucks, this summers Wednesday nights should be a treat. Off the grid attracts all types of people so it’s I suggest this spot for anyone.

LOVE off the grid. Usually my go to is Sanguchon(try the Lomo Saltado), but today I tried Slightly Slewed Asian skewers. So amazing! The beef skewers and the ginger sesame wings were cooked to perfection. Definitely worth trying out.

Just chilling @ Off The Grid with my honey, we LOVE coming over here. They have Great Food An Music. It starts around 4:30 — until bout 8:30 or 9 not completely sure of closing time. I never really stayed till the end. But it’s a relaxing spot with meal trucks, beer and wine, kids can run around on the grass while your listen to music. This is sooooo family time if you need it. This is where me an my sweetheart spend most of our Date Nights, did I say it was so relaxing after a days work… I love this little spot. Everybody is so friendly to, kids running around playing. Such a beautiful site. The food trucks change up every week. I so Love coming to Off the Grid. We went to one in San Leandro and that to was nice but I love this one. I’ve invited My daughter an family out to eat and run around and play. As I stated, We Been Here Many Time before, we brought my grandson one evening and he had a ball. I Love this spot.

Five stars for variety alone. And yum! It is nice they have OTG in Concord for lunch, but also in PH for dinner on Wednesday. Great variety, too. Pretty much a hit with the neighborhood. My favorite was Pan de Chicharron at the Sanguchan truck. Generous aeeving of pork on a crisp bun with garnish of onion and a great sauce. A mere $ 9 bucks, but it’s the experience, right. We also shared the Beef Shwarma. Probably not as big as you would bet at a restaurant, but a decent size. The sauces we great and you can help yourself to the ones you like. I do have to admit it was only luke warm, so not sure what happened there.

This is a pretty awesome event. There’s a wide variety of food and beer. The trucks seem to be on a rotation, so there’s always new/different trucks. I like that they have local breweries on tap. It’s a family and dog friendly environment too.

The food truck hype has finally made its way to Pleasant Hill! I have to say, the entire atmosphere and environment is DEFINITELY enjoyable. It almost always seems like a summer block party or family-friendly day in the park. It’s the one day a week the neighborhood seems to gather on up and spend some time – and bucks – under the sun. I’ve had some pretty mediocre food experiences here, as you definitely should and need to look at the trucks’ menus. What comes out isn’t always as tasty as it sounds – and the price isn’t always too nice. I’ve always been a big supporter of small businesses, but I’d still like my food to be good… Trucks tend to change every week and there are a couple that are consistently there. From sliders to falafels to curry to grilled cheese to garlic noodles, pick your food wisely. And the frozen custard from Lexie’s seems to be the single dessert truck here on the weekly. Enjoyable environment, friendly townsfolk and vendors with live music and ample lawn seating surrounding Pleasant Hill City Hall’s gorgeous lake/water/pond/whatever it is, it’s a fun environment to meet people up and share a beer or wine from the crafty stand set up, though choose your food wisely.

I have been to several Off the Grid markets and this one is by far my favorite. What a perfect atmosphere for a summer night to eat outside. It felt like a huge neighborhood barbeque. The trucks are on the street surrounding the lawn in front of city hall. The market provides comfortable picnic chairs and there’s live music under the trellis in the center of the lawn. They even have beer and wine! I got there around 6 and there weren’t any chairs left so I was thankful that I’d brought a blanket. I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been here twice now. It’s a very family friendly affair. There’s live music and tons of families with small children picnicking. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. There are lots of chairs that are provided by Off the Grid, But no guarantees of snagging any. The selection is good. My son stood in a line and came back with a bacon wrapped hot dog with a Siracha-wasabi aioli… my lobster roll was sad in comparison and twice the price. Not all trucks are created equal. So read the menus and take a look at what people are walking away with. Lobsta truck was over priced and underwhelming. The falafel/schwarma truck looked way better in hindsight. Or that hot dog. I’ve also tried the soul food truck. Horribly unhealthy, but good.

Not quite as good as the one I went to in Concord, but I am happy to see Off The Grid expanding. I will admit, along with everyone else that the area in Pleasant Hill it was held at was much more of a serene location. You have a big grassy hill to sit atop and eat, chat and listen to live music. There were a few tables and chairs set up but it seems the majority of the people went for the much softer and cooler mother earth. To me the disappointment came with the trucks themselves. I for one, was very upset that Drewskies wasn’t there. At least they weren’t on the night that I went. The first truck I wasn’t great, but were pretty good. It is called Go Streatery. I ordered a Beef Brisket sandwich and lemon/ricotta donuts. As to be expected, a bit of wait, but well worth it. The sandwich came on a bun, with great tasting beef and arugula. The brisket had so much flavor, and then combined with the seasoned arugula on top, it’s a flavor explosion. The donuts are something out of this world. I was expecting A donut, and when they filled a small bag with them, I couldn’t wipe the child like smile from my face. A blast of lemon, a hint of ricotta, all in a hot little pastry and covered with sugar. My inside fat kid was screaming with glee. The people actually working the truck, didn’t seem to friendly. They were rush, rush, rush, which I understand, but hey, do it with a smile: D. So because only eating at one truck is just unacceptable, I went over to SAJJ. A Mediterranean food truck where one of their menu items was a Shawafel burrito. Yes ladies and gentlemen you heard me right. They combined Shawarma and Fallafel into one actual burrito. When I first saw it I was a little skeptical. If I want Mexican food, I’ll get Mexican, if I want Mediterranean food, I’ll get just that. I never thought of combining the two. They did it and what I recieved was a skinny but long burrito, grilled and filled with some good Mediterranean flavors. The Shawarma and Fallafel played with each over very nicely. Nothing really made me go «Oh my god this is the best Mediterranean food everrr.» It was good. I’ve had better, and I’ve had way worse. Again though, SMILE… That is one thing this one lacked that the Concord one had. In Concord, they were having fun and you could tell. In Pleasant Hill, it felt like it was just business.

Off the Grid recently launched in Pleasant Hill. Great excuse not to cook dinner on a Wednesday night. Nine trucks plus a beer trailer. Chairs laid out on the PH City Hall lawn and grassy spots to sit too. Lots of people young and old enjoying the food, community feel and live music. This will be a weekly event and I’m sure we’ll be back. Trucks rotate. Tonight’s trucks included Lexie’s frozen custard, Bacon Bacon, Kinders, Sanguchon(Peruvian), United, Lobsta and others. I enjoyed United Bite’s spicy jerk chicken tacos topped with apple slaw, the man child loved his bacon mac grilled cheese from Bacon Bacon… and a sundae of salted caramel on vanilla custard from LFC was a tasty topper. We got there on the early side around 6pm and thought the line for Bacon Bacon was long then… but it was twice as long when we left just after 7pm and they were already starting to run out of items. By the time my gf got there about 7:30…many of the trucks were starting to run out of the most popular items. The parking lot by Michaels was busy but we lucked into a great spot. Not a cheap night out, but a good time. I can’t help but think that while it was good for us… I’m not convinced the local businesses will benefit.

Finally Off the Grid Pleasant Hill! Weds 5 – 9 downtown. Pleasantly surprised. Plenty of free parking & they had plenty of lawn chairs & a city booth with complimentary shopping bags with a coupon book inside to support the city. Great touch! I will definitely be back but hope that there will be a better selection of trucks. We tried several & spent a small fortune but were not fully satisfied. Kenny’s Heart & Soul, Lobsta Truck, AnGo were only okay for us. We’d pass on those. But Off the Grid itself is great. Music, laid back atmosphere is wonderful.

Off The Grid has come to Pleasant Hill! Some friends and I attended their PHill soft launch tonight behind Crescent Plaza(the Ross parking lot is right there, you can’t miss it), and it was a huge hit! Hundreds of patrons eating there or taking food home, courtesy of 9 fabulous trucks, complete with a truck dedicated to beer on tap. Dinner is served from 5 to 9 accompanied by live music and plenty of parking, you just might have to walk a block or two. Trucks present were: Lobsta Truck, United Bites, An The Go, Lexie’s Frozen Custard, Curry Up Now, Streatery, Soul Food and a few others. I made a beeline for the Lobsta Truck to snag my much-coveted lobster roll — so tough to find on the west coast! A little small for $ 14 a pop, but the sandwich you do get is loaded with deliciously prepared well-seasoned lobster meat, on a proper New England style sandwich bun. Options are lobster mixed with hot drawn butter or seasoned mayo, I opted for mayo to keep it more traditional. Simple and delicious! I also snagged a bottle of their Maine Blueberry soda — amazing! I must find this stuff, it was so refreshing and flavorful! Round 2, cuz there’s always a Round 2 with food trucks, was at United Bites, where I scored their Caribbean Jerk Chicken Tacos. Two tacos for $ 7 might just be the best deal at the whole gathering! I don’t know if they were expecting such a huge turnout because many other food options were sold out and the wait for what they did have was considerable, probably around 20 minutes, but the employees were very apologetic and grateful for our patience. Truck employee Adam handed me my tacos with many thanks and apologies, asking us all to come back next week. I also scored a free soda with my Unilocal check-in, woohoo! The tacos were well worth the wait luckily — generously seasoned grilled chicken, topped with a wonderful tangy slaw and a sprinkle of black sesame seeds, served in a flatbread-esque grilled tortilla. A home run! Friends tried the garlic noodles from An The Go(not a hit), the brisket sandwich from Streatery(a success!), and the true star of the night was my BF’s brilliant discovery of Streatery’s lemon ricotta donuts! Only $ 3 for a generous serving of delicious lemony donut holes, topped with a light and flavorful icing. You could see lemon zest in the dough — who knew a donut could be refreshing! Very happy to have Off The Grid now even closer to home, I look forward to being able to hit the food trucks on a weeknight!
