I have been going to Dr Dowd for many years and I am always weary about getting work done as he is unclear about the procedure and does not communicate well. I went in last week to have him check on work that he had done awhile back that had chipped a few days prior… during the consultation he did not even care to mention that he HAD worked on the tooth, and he certainly did not take the time to look back in my chart(to 2010) when the work had been done. He only cared to tell me that his most recent work was on a different tooth. He continued to point out other areas that he thinks needs work…“and that clenching and grinding, you really need to stop.“ He rushed me out of the chair saying that he really needs to work on this tooth today, but unfortunatly was too busy(really reassuring) but there was just no time to fit me in. He continued to blame my «grinding», brushing and eating habits for this occurrence(on an incisor, not molar), not his faulty work. He said, «these things just don’t last forever.» Well, I hope they last longer than 2 years and that he would assure me that he would fix it, not brush me off as if I was in his way or asking something ridiculous. He left me with the girls at the front, rushing off to his next patient, saying, «I don’t have time for this.» I will never recommend his work to anyone and regret that I ever trusted my beautiful smile in his hands. His work is shotty and he does not warranty his work past 2 years apparently. He couldn’t even acknowledge that the work he had done was his(and like I have said I have only gone to him for the last 8 years!) and he never once offered to fix it, he treated it as if it was my own tooth and that it would be a brand new job that he didn’t have time for. Absolutely awful experience. As if the dentist isn’t already bad enough.

I recently accompanied my mother to go see Dr. Dowd. I was very impressed with his patience and professionalism. My mom doesn’t speak English so I was there to translate. He was very gentle with my mom and never appeared impatient while waiting for me to translate everything he said to my mother. I was also very impressed with his dental expertise. I can tell he stays current with new advancement in dental care. It is clear that he has the best interest of the patients at heart. He gave my mom a few options and didn’t rush her into making any decisions unlike many dentists my mom had seen in the past. His staff are also excellent. Sharon and Lorie Lynn at the front desk are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Dowd.

We LOVE this group of people — the dentist, technicians, and the entire staff! Dr. Dowd sees both me and my husband and is great about explaining things to us, keeping pain to a minimum when there’s dental work to be done, and being punctual. We have both had several crowns over the years and have been totally satisfied with all of them. We were nervous when Dr. Satre left the practice because we’d been seeing him for 20+ years, but Dr. Dowd took over the practice and we’re as happy with him as we were with Dr. Satre.

I began seeing Dr. Dowd when he took over Dr. Neal Satre’s practice years ago. I go in for regular cleanings twice a year and always have a good experience. Chris and Barbara are great! Dr. Dowd is very nice and explains dental procedures well, including other options and cost. I have seen him for a root canal and crown and I am happy with both.
