I drive an older Mercedes, was told by 2 Southington Repair places I needed a new AC compressor, Davis said let me check it out… he ran his diagnostics and all I needed was a recharge… a month later I still have nice COLD air in my car. Highly recomend the professional service he delivered, and on time. Price was reasonable for the quality of the service. Excellent Job! Have been recomending L & S to ALL my friends.

I would recommend L&S Automotive to anybody looking to buy a great car from an honest, reliable dealer. I just bought my first car from here. The pricing is extremely fair for the high quality, well-​maintained cars they keep on their lot. My friend who works on cars didn’t find a single complaint or problem with the vehicle. As I’ve driven around, I couldn’t be happier with it. It looks, feels, and sounds like it’s brand new. Greg helped us out and answered every question we had, and was very accommodating and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It really was an effortless experience, and I felt totally confident in purchasing a car from L&S.

Davis isn’t going to be your BFF, but mechanics that try to be super nice to you to worry me anyway. He’s efficient, fair, really tries to figure out the problem, and knows his stuff. I also agree with the previous reviewer — his memory is ridiculous.

Yay FIRST!
I took my elderly ’02 Jeep Liberty to L&S after my FORMER mechanic (who will remain nameless but is about 3 miles to the west) could not find a «clicking» in the front end after TWO YEARS. Davis, the manager and head mechanic, found it in about 10 minutes by just listening to me and watching it as I went back and forth in the yard.
To be honest, he only found 1 of several factors attributing to the clicking. It took two visits, and he ate the labor and markup on the parts to make it right. I am a competent mechanic myself, I simply gave up laying under cars in my old age, so I know and fully concur with his troubleshooting. This was a test and they passed!
Sure it was an expensive repair bill, but well worth every penny. He treats my vehicle as he would treat his own. He remembers every little detail, he remembers every little thing that needs to still happen with it. Davis also has a firm grasp of the not-​so-​obvious, little tricks that only a really experienced, or intelligent, mechanic would know. Since he’s younger than me, it must be the latter. I work in a similar business (broadly, electronics) and I am a very similar troubleshooter and repairer. The not-​obvious does not escape me, so I admire the similar quality in others.
I’ve met one or two of the other mechanics. The archetype of the «also older experienced guy» and he was good, just wish I spent more time with him, and the «kid fresh out of trade school» also very intelligent, but there to pay his dues and do the grunt work. He could easily be the head mechanic at a lesser place.
As for the garage itself, you can literally eat off the floors it’s kept that clean. I wish my own garage was that neat and clean. They have a washer/​dryer, something you –never– see in a garage (dunno why, uniforms seem to come from a service, but still…). Stopped in years ago looking for a quick fix and «the kid» was the only one there scrubbing the floor.
All in all, I will most definitely recommend this place to friends, even force them there at gunpoint if necessary!
