Visited this Plantation location today and was very impressed with the new look and dining experience. Staff was very attentive and the food was DELICIOUS. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food AND great service in an upbeat atmosphere. From entrance to exit, I give this place 5 stars… will be back VERY soon!!!

I came here on a Saturday evening during dinner rush and experienced about a 15 minute wait before being seated. For how busy it was this was reasonable. I ordered a Sam Adams Seasonal, which they ran out of before they were able to fill my pint. Thankfully they took it off of my tab since I didn’t receive a full cup. Our server was very nice, but after the initial ordering we did not see her again until our food was served, at least a half hour later. I ordered the Loaded BBQ Burger, which came loaded up with pulled pork and onion rings. However, my burger arrived overcooked and tasted just average. Despite being a BBQ burger in a BBQ restaurant it didn’t really taste any different than a regular burger. Overall I felt like the food and service was average and worthy of only 3 stars. Since they comped my beer while still bringing a nearly full cup, I’ll give this trip an extra star just for that service.

My wife and I have been going to Smokey Bones for lunch for quite a while. We especially love the cornbread, and the pulled pork. Melyssa, our waitress, is great. They are in the middle of a remodel. When they are finished, there will be enough room for some early evening [7:30 — 8:00] entertainment on the bar side. Maybe late 50’s early 60’s; something for the ‘mature’ crowd who love to dance.

Great service… Sat down within seconds of entering, got drinks right away. Ordered fried pickles… excellent, lightly breaded, not greasy… got a steak spinach salad, it was great, steak cooked exactly as I asked. Free wifi was a nice perk. Love this place… give it a try.

We were greeted immediacy plesently and seated. I can only describe the feeling as modern bar meets smoke house bbq. The waitress was top notch from moment one and spot on in helping me with the menu. My son and I decided to split 2 lunch specials. The Fish & Chips(I’m a sicker for it) with coleslaw. The boneless chicken breast with a baked potato, kettle corn and garlic toast. Again, the waitresses comes through again and let’s me know that for a little more we can get an extra breast. Fish — Crunchy, Tasty, Super Fries — Crunchy, Good Coleslaw — Excellent Chicken — Perfect, it was the best chichen breast I have ever had. The combination of smoke and bbq was amazing. Potato — Okay, it was a potato I was not impressed with the kettle corn and when I told the server she brought a trial size of baked beans. Also of note, when I told the manager how much I enjoyed the chichen he mentioned that they also serve a longer smoked half chichen. Couple of moments later we were eating a ¼ chichen and it was as good or better then the last.

Terrible terrible service! Hostess was super rude and nasty. Service sucked, literally all the tables were complaining about the service I’ve never seen anything like that! I’ve never written a review but I honestly feel bad for anyone going.

Ring-ring… «Hi we’re calling from Duffy’s and they can’t give us a quote time for a party of 12. We’re wondering how long it would be to get a table there?» «No wait, come on over!» Walked a few steps, checked in, and hostess said it would be a couple of minutes… Umm ended up being over 20. Meanwhile I’m reading Unilocal reviews and hoping that our experience will be better… Wasn’t! The whole experience was just BAD. I know a party of 12 is never easy, but we do this every single Friday. It’s like a parents happy hour shindig tradition that formed over a year ago. We aren’t a pain, we tell you upfront it’s three checks, and we all eat and drink quite a bit. We are good tippers, too!!! Well the service was atrocious. Angel was very nice but there was no team work so while he was taking our order, our drinks were sitting at the bar. We ordered an appetizer from the little tablet thing on the table, and it took quite awhile to come out. Let’s talk about the tablets. There are four on our table– we ask to activate them but are told we can’t. So why leave them on the table? Anytime I asked for anything I was warned it would be an up-charge– I read the menu dude– no problem. I’m not stuck for $ 1.99. Food was gross. Pretzel appetizer was served with a dip that you couldn’t dip into. It was like cheesy plastic smudge. Gross. I had a combo meal, it came out with one chicken finger, they didn’t bring the rest until we were finished eating. Entrees were ok, but after waiting well over an hour, cardboard would have been ok! It took forever to get the check. Of course the computer went down!!! Well we were there for over two hours, food wasn’t cooked properly, or sold incomplete… it was just bad. Manager was kind, visited every single table to apologize for one thing or another! Kinda crazy! Skip it. Trust me!

I rated this a one star just so I could write a review. Can you believe that they served a pulled pork sandwich with the food preparers plastic glove in the sandwich?! It was the most disgusting thing ever. We all lost our appetites. They only comped that sandwhich despite all the uneaten food they took back. Will NEVER go there again.

Whatever that high fructose corn syrup flavor was doesn’t belong on my BBQ ribs. Margarita was way two sweet! Despite to consensus; sugar isn’t the fix-all for everything nor everyone. Salad never came, and I was charged extra for a substitution without being told. In short; I have no intention on ever returning to this establishment.

Relatively pricey $ 15 for pulled pork nachos. Portions nothing to crow over. Slow main dish service on an unbusy night. No instructions re 4 types of BBQ sauce. Why does Manager ask HOWARETHINGS? and then not listen or respond to your complaints. NOTEVENAN «I’m so sorry«. My $ 26 prime rib. .not an end cut… even though I asked for one… 1st bite was okay. 2nd bite was a chunk of gristle. Then 3rd bite had a «pinky tip sized» shard of sharp bone that sliced my inner cheek. No apologies no comp… a blank stare+!! Buyer beware.

Wanted to try a new place and was craving buffalo chicken dip. Went with a friend and ordered skillet cornbread, bones buff chicken burger, buffalo chicken dip and Dewars. Total was $ 35. Service was ehh, we ended up using the table machine to order and used it to call our service three different times. The cornbread is large but not what I expected, came with a sweet butter sauce. Buffalo chicken dip and burger were good. I may go back but wasn’t left amazed.

I’d give this restaurant a zero if I could. Went in on a Friday night around 8pm & waited maybe 10min or so for a table for a party of 3. We were sat in a booth towards the end of the restaurant and waited about 10min but no one came to the table or greeted us. We saw several servers walk by but there was no eye contact, it’s obvious they only care about their own tables. We asked a server if he knew who’d be taking care of us and he said«sure, I’ll get your server» they never came so he asked us what we’d like to drink in the meantime but it took awhile so we left. All in all, maybe 15min of waiting at the table with nothing. No water, silverware, an apology, nothing. So, we left and no one even noticed. Keep up the great work smokey bones! There are plenty of other options in the Fountains Plaza.

Absolutely horrible. Slow and inattentive service. Ribs were barely edible, wrong food initially brought out, AC not working, no manager presence on the floor. I watched people walk out over not being greeted for 10 min… I should have followed them. Never going back.

Great late night spot and they really feed you for their late night happy hour. Most establishments with late night specials have small portions — not here. I highly recommend the $ 7 loaded nachos. They’re huge and come loaded with cheese, salsa, sour cream, and jalapeños. For extra $ 2 you can add meat to it. Not in the mood for nachos? Then I suggest you at least try the skillet cornbread which is served nice and hot with a honey pecan butter. It’s enough to make even Paula Deen shed a tear. Don’t stop there there’s also a $ 7 burger for those with a beastly appetite, fried pickles, onion rings, wings and more. All extremely reasonable for the late night happy hour.

Just had a great experience at smoky bones in plantation. Shannon the general manager and her twin Shannon at the bar were amazing. Looking forward to going back and seeing both of them. Also Brian was a great guy too, can’t forget you. Brittney is amazing as well. Dre

This is probably an unfair review since I don’t even eat meat. but I can evaluate the place as a business if not the BBQ. I had an order of loaded nachos with cheese and no meat. The service, for a Friday afternoon in a half-filled value, was incredibly slooooow. And that was the main thing that stood out to me about my visit here.

For appetizers, we always order the cornbread skillet. In my opinion, it’s the best appetizer they have to offer. For entrees, we’ve had almost everything: beef brisket, pulled pork, bone in chicken, chicken breast, sliced turkey, chicken wings, and chicken tenders. Our main pick would be the pulled pork. Our second pick would be the beef brisket. For sides, we’ve had almost everything: coleslaw, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, baked potato, and French fries. Last night in particular, we started with the cornbread skilled and 2 ordered of the pulled pork platter. For the platter; I ordered a baked potato and baked beans as my side, my boyfriend ordered the French fries and coleslaw. Overall: food is great, prices are a little higher than average(especially for a BBQ joint), and service is good.

Try the baby back ribs with the sweet barbecue sauce, tender and delicious! Great baked beans too! The rack of ribs is huge, and look for the buy one get one dinner free and feed four easily!

Smokey Bones. huh…the name sounds better than the actual taste of the food. This place is said to be known for it’s BBQ but I was not impressed. The server recommended the pork and the chicken wings but the food needed a lot of help in the taste department. I mean, maybe, if I never had BBQ before this place would be Amazing but that’s just not the case. I ordered the Hand-Pulled Pork, the so-called award-winning baby back ribs and the chicken wings. The pork was«super» dry, the ribs were«just okay» and the wings were«aright.» But there drinks were good! The lemonade and the Peach-Iced Tea was the best part… Maybe, If I was tipsy, I would have enjoy the food more!!! **Note: This is a good place to take a first date, you know, someone that you kinda like, maybe someone that you’re still trying to «feel”-out or if you are dating someone with kids and they want to bring their kids with them on the date but you are not that fond of kids… you get it!!!

Smokey Bones isn’t the best BBQ around HOWEVER it does trump a lot of the other choices & it also has a few standouts. The Adult beverage drink menu is pretty large so that’s a start. The real must have is the cast iron skillet corn bread & butter. This is a straight up MUST no questions asked order it or GTFO! You’re Welcome. After starting off with a nice brew & some awesome corn bread I opt for the pulled pork. Throw some of this on top of some Texas Toast, a side of BBQ Baked Beans & you’re good to go. The Burgers & The wings are decent as are the other sides & entrees but by far the pulled pork & corn bread are their main attractions. Overall, it’s Bar food meets BBQ but in a good way. Sign up for a Bones card & get discounts & offers every now & then.
