I have been coming to the Plantation office for 12 years. Our pediatrician is Dr. Leon and he has been an amazing doctor to both my children as well as to me and my husband. He is kind, thoughtful, caring and professional. When my children were newborns he was at the hospital and eased our worries and offered helpful information. Now with a preteen, he goes above and beyond in helping us understand not only the physical changes our children are experiencing, but also the emotional aspects of puberty. I truly cannot say enough about him and several of the doctors and nurses there. Like Dr. Sirota and Dr. Betancourt, who actually saw me when I was a child. At the beginning of school my eight year old had a sore throat and we came in to get a culture. My child was«negotiating» with me about being anxious and not wanting to do it. The nurse came in and calmly, but sternly told my child you stop, take a deep breath and get on the table. Without another word, the test was done and we were out the door, not a single tear. That is experience, and my children trust them. Although I really wanted to give 5 stars, I only gave 4 stars for the fact that I have had less than stellar experiences with the office staff over the years. But for me, the most important thing is that the doctors and nurses are knowledgable and caring. They have helped us through all the colds and scrapes and broken arms, and I love and trust them for all they have done for us and our children.

This review is in regards to the HERONBAY location. DONOTTAKEYOURKIDSHERE. My son had a appointment at 11AM with the nurse, just to get a vaccine shot that was needed. This visit does not require the Dr. to see my son. Therefore, the whole procedure should not take no more than 5 minutes. The nurse only has to check my son’s temp & vitals to make sure he is not currently ill to proceed with the injection. With this being said, it was now 11:45 and my son still had not been seen by the nurse. I addressed my frustration with the front desk secretary. She said your son will be seen after all the Dr. visits have been taken cared off. This was totally wrong. I too had to make a previous appointment like everyone else, but the lack of importance or right of my child to be seen was totally descriminating. So, I asked to speak to the office manager, named Dianne. She too, said my son would have to wait, even though we had a «Appointment». The front secretary did not even know my name, but would keep calling me «mommy». I asked her to reference me by my last name(Mrs. Perez). So, I continue to sit and wait for my son to be called back. Still 10 minutes later no injection. The front desk secretary looks at me and says“Mrs. Martinez” we are getting ready to take your son back. I looked at her with such anger and said my name is not Mrs. Martinez. I questioned her to even have the right chart for my son, if she could not even remember my name. This was the final draw and I walked out. Be cautious of this so called medical office. Not only are you waisting your time, but the accuracy and medical knowledge of the staff should be a great concern.

Avoid it. Some of the doctors are actually pretty good, but we’ve had all sort of issues with their billing department: billing codes for new born used for a 3 year old — which ended up as extra out of pocket charges, extra procedures listed on top of regular check-up, which should be fully covered by insurance and even though I’ve repeatedly contacted their billing dept. and them agreeing to billing mistake on the phone, afterwards they keep sending the bill threatening sending it to collection agency for a charge of $ 16.
