INMEMORYOFROBERT F, my loving and very missed brother. My brother was diagnosed with Sarcoma and given only a year to live. Could you imagine how news like this would make you feel. Could you imagine how difficult it would be to wake each day and still manage to take care of you children, go to work and still keep smiling. That was my brother. Doctor visit after doctor visit with bad news all the time and he still kept his spirits up. Sadly I still lost my brother to this horrible cancer. In honor of my brother I keep his memory alive by thinking of him everyday. And I like to participate in various cancer walks. Since this one is specific to the cancer that took my brother away from me I am sure to never miss this one. The run/walk starts at Central Park in Plantation and for the first couple miles we walk on the streets that were barricaded and had police directing us along the route. The last section of the race enters back into Central Park and eventually it ends at a main stage area. I was treated with a wonderful and unexpected surprise along the way this year. Glenn surprised me by arranging with the race organizers to have my brother honored. So along the race, there were signs remembering my brother. It was so special to see his name posted along the race and it was the perfect ending to the walk. Plus I won a couple of tickets to U of Miami vs Boston College football tickets in the after race raffle. Hopefully anyone that reads this will consider participating in this run/walk for a good cause. See you there and miss you brother.

Well organized Run/Walk for a well deserved cause. Money raised funds multiple research grants to find a cure for Sarcoma victims. Easy to register, lovely course with last mile winding thru Central Park in Plantation Florida, plenty of friendly people, an abundance of free drinks and other goodies, great raffle(with some very fine prizes like iPad, video game package, all-paid vacation, oil changes, football tickets and many more prizes). We told the person we registered with 3 weeks before the race that we lost a family member to this horrible disease and they place dedication signs along the course in memory of him. They also had an announcement before the raffle to remind us that this race is for a good cause and that we should all remember those who have fallen to Sarcoma and then read a few names including our missed loved one. We look forward to participating again next year.
