Probably the worst aspect of this hotel is its location; it sits right next to a busy interchange and, if you’re on the highway side of the building, you’ll hear loud motorcycles and cars blasting up and down the thoroughfare at all hours. I got used to it, but those with more sensitive ears might not be able to deal with it. All said I had en enjoyable stay. The hotel seems generally clean aside from some normal wear and tear issues and housekeeping was very good about keeping my room in order for my 10-day stay. I just wished they’d change the pillow cases more than every few days. All staff made a point to say, «Hi» whenever I encountered them in the hallway. The hot breakfast downstairs was an added perk, but the eggs and sausage were almost inedible, being cold and rubbery most days. I stuck with the make-yourself waffles, fruit, and juices and those were fine. There is a Wendy’s right next door and a McDonald’s right down the street. The in-room coffee was horrible, but most are, and $ 3.00 is a bit steep for a bottle of in-room water. I used the free wi-fi extensively and had no need to pay for the upgraded«faster» service, which costs $ 6.95 a day. There’s a decent desk and chair and I found getting work done quite comfortable in the room. I did not use the pool, gym, or other included facilities like the guest laundry.

The general manager Amy is very nice :-) Hotel is beautiful clean and quiet. All of the staff is nice except for the front desk(Maggie) indirectly rude and has a slightly nasty personality.

Pros: Friendly staff Good breakfast Quiet area Unlimited pool towels Cons: –Bed bugs or fleas… Woke up daily with bites all over us –The pool was closed 3 of the 4 days we were there. We were visiting family close by, so we had a free place to stay but wanted the hotel solely for the pool and it was closed. When it was open, it was dirty and something in the water kept biting us. The last day we were there the pool was spotless and immaculately clean, not sure why this wasn’t consistent throughout our stay –the shower handle was all types of messed up. You could keep turning it in either direction literally for 5 minutes before the water would kick on, trying to find hot or cold was a headache and a half –we would leave the AC on while we were out so that after spending the days at the beach or outdoors we could return to a nice cold room. The room was literally 75 degrees inside and apparently is controlled by a sensor, the room never truly cooled down which made sleeping or getting ready very difficult.

My 2 stars are for the hotel staff and cleanliness of the hotel. As a regular guest of Marriott I was disappointed at the room I was given when I first arrived. The staff did move me to a better room but the hotel seemed like it was more a resident location for locals. It doesn’t have a restaurant although it offers a small breakfast buffet in the morning. We had to use Unilocal to find places to eat & all of them were at least 10 miles away. I wouldn’t recommend this location unless you have business in the area.

They have a shuttle that runs to both the Hard Rock Casino and the Dallas Bull. That’s all you need. I would only stay here if you are planning to spend your time at 1. the Hard Rock Casino, 2. the Fairgrounds, or 3. a crazy night at the Dallas Bull. My friends and I were here for the third option. We were planning a fun night out and decided to rent a room for the night, since one of my friends has a million reward points. The parking lot is huge so you never have to worry about parking. The room was a good size and everything was clean. The orange and green décor makes everything pop. They have breakfast in the morning, but we did not get up in time. The best thing about this hotel is the shuttle. They had a shuttle leaving at 20 past the hour to go to the dallas bull and it comes to pick you up 30 past the hour. I don’t know the times for the Casino since we ended up just driving there first. The one downside about this location is if you aren’t here for any of the three reasons I listed then there is nothing to do. We ended up eating at the Hard Rock because there really isn’t any better restaurants around.

The gracious day front desk staff accommodated my 9:30am early check-in request(I’d red eyed from Vegas and needed sleep stat!), giving me a room that faced the quiet back of the property. Five stars for excellent customer service.
