I contacted Tim Willet after being referred by an antique shop in downtown McKinney. I’m was looking for someone who knew the value of 3 pieces of solid Mahogany 70 year old Cavalier furniture that I had purchased 10 years ago in Oklahoma and had brought with me to Texas. I was having to move out of my home in Texas for financial reasons and had hoped that selling this furniture that I’m treasured would offset the cost. I had expressed to Tim that I’m did not know the value of the furniture but my research showed them to be worth 1500 per piece. Tim charged me $ 50 to pick up my furniture. Sent over paperwork where I’m listed the value as the same $ 1500 per item. I did not put a reserve on the items because I trusted he would sell for a reasonable value, after the auction date I contacted Tim to ensure that if my items did not sell that I could get them back. He informed me that he had sold all three items for $ 100 dollars. Upset because I’m had trusted him to sell for what they were worth. He pretending that he was concerned offered to show pictures to other dealers and finally agreed to send a nominal amount of money and then never sent anything. Please don’t trust this person with your antiques. He stole my keepsakes from me and has no clue as to the value of furniture. I’m could have sold these items for more, myself. I had to select a star to post to give Tim a zero star.

Tim is a a great auctioneer! Live auctions are so much fun and they also offer online bidding. I’ve consigned at least 50 pieces with him and he always gets me the best price and pays promptly. So if you’re thinking of consignment, contact him or Melanie first. If you’re looking for that special piece of décor, art, collectible or furniture, see their showroom! Very eclectic offerings from all periods. I don’t place reserves on most of my pieces but some consignors do. This is not the place to come pick up $ 1000 piece of furniture for 50cents. So check out the online gallery.

If your looking to go to an auction with outrageous reserves on most items that you don’t find out about until after you have driven an hour to get there then this place is for you! And whatever you do don’t complain about the process or offer an constructive criticism… they will escort you off of the premises! I would hate to be a consignor here… I just don’t see this auction house lasting any amount of time no do I see true auction attendees going here. My recommendation is don’t waste your time. Hi Willett Team; My response to your reply is as follows: My motivation… I thought I was pretty clear guess you missed the mark IFYOUAREGOINGTOPLACE A RESERVEONANITEMSTATETHATINTHELISTING! BETRANSPARENT so that the customer is well advised and can make an informed decision as opposed to driving over an hour to your auction only to find that the majority of your items have a reserve even though your online start bids began at $ 20. That practice is a bit deceptive on your part and when someone in my profession is doing such things I will point it out! WHYYOUMIGHTASK!!! BECAUSEITISPRACTICESSUCHASTHISTHATGIVETHEAUCTIONINDUSTRY A BADNAMEACROSSTHEBOARD. Oh and I have attended your auctions offered to help you out any time, gave your check out clerk advice when she had no clue on how to work the software etc. I attempted to take into account you being new to running estate and consignment auctions and thus inexperienced, offered my feedback as a professional to help you better your business. You let your ego get in the way and could not accept constructive criticism and told me never to come to your facility or you would personally escort me off of the premises. Bottom line… poorly run business with immature management/ownership! Glad to have helped in clearing up my motive for the review!
