Just moved here from California and was so happy to see my favorite Gun Store here in Plano. Still the same great service and prices. They also have an amazing show room full of cool black rifles and gear.

I was impressed with the store and staff knowledge. Very friendly and inviting atmosphere. Will be shopping here more often. Very large selection.

Excellent store with friendly and knowledgable staff. I went to two other shops prior to this and the other two stores had very poor service so I bought my Sig MPX at this location. By the way, it was in stock and the store was clean and not cluttered. I will be going back for all my needs. Guess the other two stores lost a customer.

I’ve been shopping at this Plano store since it opened in April 2015. During my first visit to the store in in April, I noticed two things: 1) the staff was FANTASTIC. 2) The layout was incredibly clean and streamlined; however, the selection of firearms, while very nice, was somewhat limited. At the time I was told that the selection was going to expand and to expect more item categories. Let me say, they have held true to their word. If you’ve only visited the store during the first two months it was open(April/May 2015), I would suggest you give it another look. Their selection has dramatically improved. They have a fantastic selection of handguns, rifles(black rifle and bolt action), shotguns, custom guns(Nighthawk Custom 1911s… very nice), suppressors, and even archery items. They also have access to items that are not on display, so if you have a particular item in mind, just ask and they can easily order it for you(from their Fountain Valley shop or other sources). Overall, I feel that their pricing is on par with other stores in the area and they carry some quality merchandise. The employees are very knowledgeable, and each person seems to have their own specialty. They are patient and NOT high-pressure. I’ve been treated with the same excellent service regardless of whether or not I’ve purchased anything. It’s obvious that the people working here really like firearms and shooting sports. They have all been great to talk with. Overall, Excellent, professional customer service. Also, I disagree with other reviews knocking the store because the employees wear casual clothing. Honestly, I would feel strange if the employees were all wearing suits. Seriously, I’m trying to buy a gun, not a Lamborghini for Pete’s sake. They now have two on-site gunsmiths and they offer CHL classes. This is my go to gun shop.

I also like the people at the store. they were very nice. The prices are set at retail(MSRP) and you can certainly find them cheaper in town or online for the exact product. My main issue is their 10% restocking fee. In fairness, it is listed on the receipt, but not mentioned by the staff at the time of purchase and I did not see any signs in the store. I purchased 2 small items less than 7 days prior at the full retail price(under 100) and returned them in 2 unopened boxes, with no damage at all. I was charged the 10% restocking fee. I was offered the opportunity to get a gift certificate at 100%, but it could only be used in the store. To me it was the principal that counted. With 3 different stores in a 10 mile radius, I’ll just go somewhere else. So much for building customer loyalty.

Like the people at RifleGear in Plano but they charge 10% to return accessories. Things like scopes are not even returnable. Amazon is cheaper in most cases and returns are pain free along with no restocking fees. I would really like to support this local store but they sell at retail or near to it and with the 10% return policy… I’m staying with the internet for accessories.

I’m new to the area, however I’ve been a Riflegear customer for a long time, dating back to their Fountain Valley store. My review is for my experience here at the Plano shop. I don’t know what another reviewer was disappointed with when he was referring to the selection, because the selection is huge here. Maybe he has a valid point, if you’re expecting traditional hunting rifle & shotguns. I don’t hunt, so I probably didn’t pick up on that. But the selection is great if you’re looking for handguns or rifles in general. I haven’t shopped around at other LGS since just moving here, so I can’t compare prices, but it seems on par with online pricing. Aside from just firearms, they offer knives, optics, archery«things», belts, packs, holsters, ect. For me it was really hard for me to find a gun belt for conceal carry, because not alot of shops have something you can actually hold in hand. It’s hard to commit to purchasing something that important based on what you read or see online, without touching it. Here, it’s very hands on. The greatest thing I have always found about Riflegear above all other gun shops, was the customer service. In FV it was phenomenal, not intimidating & not some slimy sales pitch. It was pretty genuine & always helpful, regardless if you purchased something this time or not. Here in Plano, the service & attention is almost on par to FV. I’ve never had a rude moment or a pressured sales here, but aside from the guys that came here from FV, the service is just a bit off. I don’t mean it in a bad way & I can’t explain it. Maybe it’s just my comfort & prejudices & it’s just me. I’ve always been treated well & I’ve never seen anyone ignored or been poor customer service. I also took my CHL class here with Dave & that was a great offering to have. The class itself was a great & very informing experience. I wish I had a much more liberal bank account to buy up the store, but until then, I’ll always come here & feed my vice here piece by piece. It was truly a wonderful gift to move here & shortly have my favorite firearm shop literally open up down then street from me. A piece to remember home by. In short: Go here for your pew pew pews. It’s great & only expanding for everything pew pew pew related. You will be happy you got your pew pew pews from these guys/gal. Pew pew pew on!

This place is a haven for people who are interested in mid to high end guns. Mostly a «black gun» store which would be AR15/10s of varying kinds, HKs, Glocks, Sigs, or anything that might be considered for«tactical» use. Not a hunting store in the traditional sense. Surprisingly this previously California based store is pushing some pretty hard pricing«tactics» to the local competition, but that might just be a «we just opened» type of pricing. Another 3 – 6 months will tell for certain. Handgun supply was pretty impressive. A large variety of brands and models within those brands. Prices were equal to and in some cases better than the local(their website reflects different pricing sometimes than in store, which I’ve seen other local stores do as well). They did have some high end 1911s from Springfield, Nighthawk Custom, I think one Wilson Combat which you don’t see a ton of around. Rifle selection was a good 50% AR platform and the remainder were guns in the semi-auto category with a couple bolt actions. I don’t recall much of anything in the«entry» gun pricing except for maybe a Smith M&P15 Sport with everything else being primarily in the $ 1000+ area. Shotguns were all home defense/tactical shotguns, no target/bird hunting shotguns. Now as far as the non firearm inventory it is light if you aren’t into the AR platform. Lots of Magpul products, other building stuff, handguards, receivers, muzzle devices, etc. I don’t remember much in holsters I think it was primarily blackhawk(kydex/polymer) style holsters. Ammo at the time of coming in was limited in what they offered. Kind of the one type of the main calibers. So if you wanted to try 2 – 3 different 223⁄308 ammos you wouldn’t be able to. Pricing seemed average as far as the ammo goes, which nothing wrong with having a fair price. Optics were light for sure, a couple Nightforce, 1 – 2 Leupold, Eotech, Trijicon ACOG, and an Aimpoint micro or two. Once again nothing that I would consider the«entry» optic. Don’t get me wrong I’m a buy once cry once guy, but it just shows that this is definitely the higher end«west plano» type store. Cleaning supplies were pretty minimum which I guess for most people they don’t care about a large supply of cleaning stuff. No reloading, which is fine cause out of the few places to go for reloading only one is worthwhile. I haven’t used or talked to their gunsmith/armorer, but price wise they are good on some stuff, expensive on the others. Probably the only place I know of that lists pin/weld muzzle devices and pinning a2 front posts. They also have archery stuff which I don’t think anyone, but the big box stores really deal with that anymore. Staff was very attentive, but definitely overstaffed. I think I counted 15 people for all 3 customers including myself. Overall they have a nice store. Definitely sharper looking than anyone else in the DFW. I would say they don’t have the all in one stop ability that 2 – 3 other places have in DFW. If you value quality and have the money to feed that this would be a place for you to check out. About the only thing I think is fishy is between their google reviews and Unilocal reviews they have some copy/paste 5 star reviews posted in the end of july/beginning of august for both sites even though they opened back in May. Rule of thumb if it is all 5 star reviews it’s probably fake reviews, that is why I did 3 star with a detailed write up so you can go in and decide for yourself.

This is a great store and the service was on par. My son came in to buy a few things and was treated very well. This shows their character and willingness to help everyone. I was made to feel like one of the boys there while shopping and just talking guns. I left with 2 guns that day and will be back for sure. Their prices are fair. I trade with them for the store. I’ll pay a bit more for a great experience, and a nice place to shop. I don’t mind that at all. Unlike one review I didn’t mind they were in jeans. I was too… you don’t need to wear a tie to sell guns, just know your stuff and be friendly. These guys have my business!

A buddy of mine mentioned this place to me a while back and I finally got around to checking it out. I’d been meaning to buy my first AR-15 but wasn’t sure which one to get. I found the staff here to be very friendly and informed. The sales guy that helped me out really gave me an education and I’m very pleased with my purchase. Can’t wait to shoot it!

Wow. This place is the best. We were greeted at the door and Kyle gave us a tour of the store and was so attentive. He was so knowledgeable about the gear and firearms. I recommend you come by and visit these guys. They have a friendly staff and superior selection that will have you drooling. I bought a set of night sites for my pistol and this is the first time anyone has had them in stock. They are my go to place here in the DFW area now.

I’ve been eagerly anticipating RifleGear since I read the notice in the Collin County Business Journal early in the year. I stopped in today and WASNOT impressed. The selection was mediocre to interesting at best. As an avid shopper and modest hobby shooter, I spend a fair amount of time comparing prices. RG has high prices online, and the store is no exception. They are WAY higher than Academy, on par with Cabellas, maybe lower than Guns and Gear To Go. Beautiful store, but very sparse. The issue is service. Literally they are all 20-somethings in blue jeans and t shirts. All of their competition are very professional, well dressed(in uniforms), and all business. We I came in, they were all jaw jacking about racing Hondas and generally just talking smack. This is West Plano – where SERVICE separates the boys from the men. Customers shop hard, expect professional decorum, and expertise. We can go to Walmart if we want grunge. It may survive, it may not. They are going to need to tighten up the reins after the hard open, because this is a tough town.
