Not very good at all. Gyro meat was greasy, spicy, and covered in a yogurt sauce that tasted more like ranch than tzitziki. Meat was cubes soaked in grease for days. 2 sandwiches and soda cost 26.00 — for that price, I was expecting better quality. We will not be returning.

I took my family here for lunch on a whim based on reviews on Unilocal. When we walked I’m, it was empty. I was a little weary since it was 12:45 on a Saturday. I figured there be some people still getting a late lunch in. Regardless, we ordered and were told that it’d be about a 20 minute wait. The following actually came out in about ten, which was a plus. I ordered the queema naan for the fam and the NY gyro platter with lamb for myself. The platter was very good; the lamb nicely spiced and still piping hot. The gold star goes to the naan though. The crust nice and crisped and the ground chicken was to die for. The naan alone will be the reason I come back.

I absolutely loved this place. I came for the New York platter. They have a different take on the platter, the meat is fried with onions and green peppers. I asked for no onions, but I really liked the green peppers and gyro. I’m usually not a fan of chicken, but this one was decent. The white sauce is fantastic, but the red sauce was just hit sauce I think. My recommendation for take out is: New York platter with just gyro, no salad or onion. Extra white sauce with hot sauce. I sampled the almond pistachio saffron ice cream, absolutely fantastic!

Got the NYGYGRO Chicken. Very very good. Almost like a hole in the wall place. But the food is delicious.

The staff there were kind and interactive. Despite the mix up in our order and the long wait to receive our food my friend and I had a wonderful experience. During the wait one of the workers there let us sample their food. The falafel was great and the garnish and sauce complimented it well. He even gave us a brief history of their ice cream flavors, which were extremely unique, such as the rose petal flavor. Overall this place is wonderful in both food and service, I will definitely be coming back.

The Naan was excellent. I had the chicken/lamb gyro combo and it was also very tasty. Ice cream was some of the best I have had.

I heard this place was good so I decided to give it a try. I decided wrong. I walked in the establishment and immediately noticed the rancid stench, it was horrifying, but I got acclimated to it eventually. Now the food. Don’t eat anything that comes out of the kitchen as it may be harmful to your body. Seriously, unless you enjoy the taste of farts or excrement, I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Please, take this advice to avoid both physical and emotional pain.

This place is awesome. Ice cream, kulfi, tandoori dishes. Service is superb. Food is fresh… which is rare with desi restaurants. You csn have a decent meal for $ 10. Loved the kulfi… not like fake one found in indian restaurants and stores.

The ice cream is the best thing ever! They use real ingredients for their home made ice cream which is why their flavors are on point. I liked Persian delight, falooda, kulfi, apple custard, etc. I didn’t try the actual kulfi but the falooda was extremely and ridiculously sweet(so much so that 4 of us couldn’t finish it.) The owner was very sociable and he explained the process. For green tea ice cream, they start with oolong and get the extract. They add a small amount of matcha, etc. He’s very easy to talk to. When i told him i go to UTD, he asked me if I know anyone looking for part time jobs. I didn’t like the keema stuffed naan(i can’t remember the exact name). They give 4 naans and 2 of them filled me up. The lamb over rice was decent — i just wish the food was presented better.

Didn’t try the food but just the ice cream. A lot of non-traditional flavors which If you grew up in America you might not have been exposed to Try the Falooda it is pretty good. Mango was pretty good too. They have a decent amount of seating.

They really aren’t trying. We went on a Sunday with an open mind. The falafel was good. The naan was very very good. We asked for beef kabobs, of the solid meat kind… got ground meat kabobs that we awful. The meat was so incredibly heavily spiced that it was inedible. The Gyro plate was just not good. The ice cream is okay. There is ZERO atmosphere, zero fit and finish, and was pretty dirty.

Went there today. It was empty. Ordered a street burger(bun kabab) and charga. Bun kabab was tasteless !!! Very disappointing. Visited the place after reading reviews. Charga was dry… possibly made earlier and just reheated. Guy behind the counter was cold and distant. Found the food pretty bland !!! If u decide to visit the place… go with very low expectations!!!

It’s a causal style diner with open seating and an add on ice cream bar. Our group ordered multiple dishes including new style gyro, chicken Karahi, murgh Chana, queens stuff naan and nuggets for kids followed by kulfi as desert. Chicken Karahi was not at all authentic and had too much add on oil and hint of yougurt based gravy masala. Chicken nuggets were also not original and tasted like frozen variety off the shelf and for that it was a bit pricy. New york style gyro was quite good although the rice should be added to it for free and not as an add on as it feels odd . Murph chana and chapli kebab were ok . Stuffed qeema naan was ok but there was no real flavor. Adding an Italian touch e. g pesto sauce would be good. Kulfi was the best of every thing we had. Naan were buttery which is how probably customers like but I would have liked the option of no extra butter. Place is nice and clean although it’s very open from front and every one can see you at night time from outside so it’s a bit odd and not a cozy enclosed casual diner. There are a little too many mirrors there added unecessarily that further take away your privacy as it seems that you are looking at every one or people looking at you all the time . I would rate the experience all together 3.5 star. Overall it’s a nice new addition to Plano restaurant scene but a little extra touch on ambiance candidate wonders.

About 4 months ago, I noticed this was a new restaurant in the area and love Mediterranean food so I was very excited to try it. The New York gyro combo was really tasty and I loved it. Although I can’t believe they charge extra for rice… this dish isn’t enough to fill one person up without it. Halal guys is one of my favorites in NYC and it’s not quite the same but a pretty good substitute for Dallas. Falafel was also really good the first time. None of the other dishes we tried were as tasty(whole roasted chicken was dry, and chickpea appetizer was ok… they need hummus!!). Since then I have always ordered the NYC gyro plate or falafel to-go a couple times a month for a quick lunch/dinner. However, it’s been pretty inconsistent in the taste. Today I had the combo and the chicken was fine, but the lamb in it didn’t taste very fresh, almost stale/frozen tasting. Last time I ordered falafel to-go and it tasted tangy and avoided it this time. I don’t think it will keep me from ordering the NYC gyro plate next time, but I was disappointed it didn’t taste as good as the last few times I’ve had it. Hope it was just a rare off day for them!

First time here and I will be back. Its like an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Your taste buds will love you… until its gone. I had some falafel. Delish! I had some chicken kabobs. Delish! And i even tried some of a gyro. That’s right… delish! The naan is good enough to be a meal on its own. The variety of sauces will have you trying to figure out which one you want more on each bite. Prices aren’t bad either.

Updating my review because the chef that made the awesome food is no longer there. They stole his recipes and kicked him out. Avoid this shady place. The recipes weren’t what made this place amazing it was him so beware you have lost many customers by being typical shady desis.(Don’t meant to offend others, I’m desi too just sick of all the desi businesses going downhill because of same things)

I really don’t want to talk shit about the place because the people were nice but I mean damn this was the worst food I’ve ever had. Chunks(cubes) of greasy gyro meat on rice and lettuce covered in yogurt. I couldn’t decide if I felt more like a pig or a dog while eating it. The food itself smelled like a living pig I kept smelling it and I almost just walked out after the first bite but I was hungry so I had some more NASTY

I visited the place on a Thursday. The workers were great and attentive. I had the lamb and rice but also tried my sisters chicken and rice. Both were great. It’s been a while since i had it in NYC(about an year) but i think it tastes like it. I heard the owner is from NY/NJ area. I am sure they will get busier as the word gets out that the food is great. Definitely worth a try for your NYC Lamb and rice fix. Ask for the NYC Gyro over rice. ENJOY.

Service was a little shaky at first. I think it was just a new employee. The food is friggin’ FANTASTIC! I had the Chapli Kabob plate and was great. The naan was huge and so fluffy and delicious. Comes with lots of salad and veggies. Yummy green sauce to squirt on everything. Next time, I’ll try the ice cream in so many interesting flavored. Great lunch!

First time going to this place based on the reviews. I honestly thought they’re overly high priced for the food they serve. I had lamb gyro for 7.99, then 1.29 extra for rice. Almost $ 10 for a small plate and that doesn’t include any drinks or anything. I’ve been to other competitive chains for that offer excellent food, great quantity at a very affordable price. I wouldn’t mind the cost of the food here was that good, which wasn’t. Not recommending it to anyone.

Had some of their food delivered to office for an office brunch. Several coworkers never had their ethic food before– well now they(and I) are planning another lunch at this restaurant right away! It was so flavorful, healthy, and excellent! They were prompt and very courteous as well. Great food and nice people.

Awful experience. I will usually forgive most things if the food is good and mine was not. Ordered Keema Naan and the guy taking order insisted that I should have the gyro which I did not want — a mistake in hindsight. I was told it would take 5 – 10 minutes. I was the only person there and it took 25 minutes. The taste was average but it was also gritty — like there was sand or grit from the tandoor oven on it. Made it inedible and had to be thrown out. Will not be back here

Amazing food! They have great food. Hot, flavorful, and healthy. Large quantity considering the low price. Wow. They also have home made ice cream which is some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly, very polite. Our food took a little bit to come out but you could tell it was cooked to order and it was still fast considering. Will be returning def. highly recommend.

The food is good; however, they cannot handle more than one customer at a time on a good day. Today was not a good day. I went there tonight and it was full. The girl at the front told us after we’d paid(and tipped) that the wait would be 40 minutes. We waited over an hour for our food, and our order was incomplete when we received it. People who arrived later than us somehow were getting their food before us. Staff seemed confused. A large group actually left and were eating pizza in the parking lot. It was pretty bad. If you must eat here, try to be the only customer.

After my father located a coupon-filled flyer at Sam’s Club, we decided to give Old Town a chance for a late-night dinner. Well lit, even from the slow and silent suburban strip mall parking lot! Open layout with lots of bench seating. Now for the food! We ordered the«qeema naan,» a heavily buttered, South Asian ground chicken stuffed flat bread concoction. I was amazed by how much it tasted like my own mother’s ground chicken!!! It’s even better paired with the house made, tzatziki sauce!(The sauce triumvirate included a raita, tzatziki sauce, and spicy, honey red sauce.) My brother and dad ordered New York gyro wraps in lamb and chicken. Not being New Yorkers, but gyro-afficionados we weren’t too sure what to expect… again, we were just as wow’ed! The wraps had to be a pound and a half a piece! Stuffed with meat chunks, black olives, lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, pickles, and tzatziki sauce, it was filled with flavor! Only $ 25 later, the four of us left full and happy! The only regret we had was not being able to try the kulfi and icecream! They had flavors ranging from butter scotch to cotton candy to mango to red velvet! Will definitely be back!

Let me first start off with«Wow!» There is amazing food from all around the world here. This is my new place for the most fantastic homemade ice creams in the area. I know someone that will probably be mad at me saying this. I am a huge Henry’s ice cream fan but these are more intriguing and just mind blowing in freshness in the flavors. The falafel and gyros here are phenomenal as well with their own twist on traditional sauces of the mediterranean. Try it just for the ice cream or for the entire menu. You will not be disappointed.

This is a wonderful place with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean style cuisine. My and my husband asked a lot of questions about the food on the menu but they ended up letting us try a lot. The gyro and rice and chicken and rice with salad was really great. It was a simple dish but beautiful flavor. We also tried the lamb shop with chickpeas and spinach which was very tasty as well! They have a large assortment of homemade ice cream and many were very yummy!
