We had family here on Monday. 8 people. All came away satisfied. I’ve been to Bahamas 10 or more times. No expert but know many of the dishes. Conch fritters were remarkable and the sauce almost authentic(maybe a bit sweeter than it needs to be). Same for cracked conch. Several had mahi mahi, others jerk chicken. Everyone liked it. Huge calamari poboy. Shrimp appetizer was only so-so. Very small shrimp. Had to ask for more bread to sop up sauce(which was better than the shrimp). Nice to have a Kalik. Atmosphere nice. Owner was there and not only gracious but was upfront about a few dishes-especially that the conch was frozen since it’s impossible to get fresh conch in Dallas. We all enjoyed it. Since it was s Monday it was dead. I hope he makes it. Worth the trip up from Dallas.

The family had conk fritters, shrimp croquet, garlic shrimp, grilled conk, jerk chicken, and warm shrimp salad. Only complaint was the grilled conk was overcooked but still had excellent flavors and was very refreshing. Jerk chicken was some of these best I have ever had. The conk fritters were the star of the show and dipping sauces were excellent. Everything was spot on perfect. Will surely be returning to try other dishes. Joe served us and was extremely personable and informative. We all left full and happy.

You HAVE to eat here. I grew up in Florida, and went to the Bahamas and Carribean for years growing up. This is the real deal. Joe and Michelle will steal your heart. This is our second time here, and it will not be our last. Conch fritters… awesome. Jerk chicken… amazing. Peas and rice like I remember my best friend’s Jamaican mom making. You must try it!

My wife and I have come here twice. The restaurant has an upscale feel to it, with a modern and elegant theme to the décor. The food is fantastic. The conch fritters are delicious, as is anything they serve with conch in it. The service is also fantastic, and Joe himself is always present(at least from what we saw), overseeing the floor with personality and grace. The restaurant and food feels like a more upscale place than the prices, which are very reasonable would indicate. I love this place and I will be coming back regularly.

Went on lunch with a few coworkers and had a grilled chicken sandwich which was excellent. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. Our waitor who I believe may have also been the owner was awesome. He checked on us often, had a great sense of humor and made our dining experience a pleasant one. The ambiance of the place is very quaint and makes for a good date night restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch while having car looked at at Resh’s Bass Auto Shop(had to put a plug in since Rod and his team are such great mechanics)…anyways, have to say Conky Joe’s was delicious and affordable. Had their Monday special. Place wasn’t packed — but it should have been. Did I already say food was delicious. Will definitely will be back!

Fantastic food and service. We came in within an hour of closing and still were treated like rock stars. Definitely recommend trying this place out but I do like my hidden gems!

Very nice. Our table had the sampler app with conch fritter, conch croquet and garlic shrimp then the conch dinner. Very nice breading on the conch with perfect seasoning. Rice had a Caribbean sauce that was very good. Jose and Michelle were so helpful and made the dining experience. Thanks, Conky Joe

Wow. I mean wow. So what that you don’t recognize some of the stuff on the menu. PUTITINYOURMOUTH because it is GREAT! I have never had conch fritters, these were awesome. One of the reviews said they were«ugly,» what?! They are fried balls of yumminess! Family operated and very friendly. Tired of your staple restaurants? Try it!

Had dinner on a Saturday night. We had the conch fritters, crack conch dinner, Mac and cheese and clam chowder. The fritters were moist and had lots of conch. The sauce was delicious as well. The crack conch was outstanding. We had the traditional peas and rice and it was very good as well. The Mac and cheese was Not the traditional Mac and cheese — more like pasticio, but was traditional Bahamian and very good. The clam chowder also was very tasty — not the thick stuff you get some places, but rather a more refined quality. Overall, an excellent resturaunt and the owner is very helpful and friendly. Postscript. — my wife ordered the coffee(the secret one) — and it is something you must have — it was over the top!

Fish and chip was good and the fish was flaky and nice. They also have conch we also try, meat was cook right therefore was not«gummie» Good beer and vine selection.

Very nice location and atmosphere. Great service and wonderful tasting Caribbean food. The price was a good price and lots of food. You won’t leave hungry for sure. We will go back again and again. The owners were very nice and personable. We had the jerk wings and huge stuff burgers.

Went on a Friday, ordered conch fritters. They are battered in something similar to hush puppies and seasoned really well. Garlicky, and the sauce is wonderful! Very light and airy. They also give you a lime, great touch! Next we had wings(buffalo pumped up) pretty spicy but very tasty. They were good sized wings too. Last we had a calamari sub fries and a house salad. So great! The alioli sauce is wonderful with fried cali was the perfect texture. The bar is really beautiful too, a nice wood. The bathrooms were also very clean.

Came with my girlfriend and wasn’t impressed. I got the chicken strips, thinking that I’d get at least 4 or 5 good size pieces for $ 9, but no, I got 3 and they weren’t that big at all. My girlfriend’s fish n chips were a little better on portion size, but still wasn’t great. Our server never refilled her water and I had to ask him to fill mine. He was very kind though. The food taste was only decent. Overall, just not that great. Maybe even a 2 star. I sincerely appreciate your reply, thank you for taking my criticisms very professionally!

Conky Joe is one of those diamond in the rough spots that so many people sleep on. The food is fresh, the service is friendly, and it’s always a good time. I’ve eaten here 4 times already, and it’s one of the spots that has authentic tasting food. The burgers are great, the wings are seasoned so good, they will leave you chewing cartilage off the bone, and the conch salad & fritters take you to the Caribbean! You have to come in and have a beer and some wings or a burger. They have ribeye, filet, and other common staples, but you want some authentic Caribbean cooking and hospitality, look no further than Conky Joe! They have Kalik which is a delicious beer from the Bahamas that washes everything down. It’s a lot of restaurants in the area, but none of them offer the crispy Jerk Chicken wings like Conky Joe. If you’re in the area PLEASE stop in and try it. I ate here 3 times last week. My friend took one bite of his barbeque jerk wings and shouted, «Damn these are some good @$$ wings!!»

Let me preface my review by saying I lived in The Bahamas for 16 years and I am extremely familiar with the local cuisine. I found out on a Sunday evening that this restaurant had opened and was there the next day for lunch. I was warmly greeted by one of the owners Jose or ‘Joe’ who was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Jose had lived for many years in The Bahamas. I started with the conch fritters which were PERFECT! These are the flesh from a conch shell fried in batter and served with calipso sauce. There were 5 to the order and just writing about them now is making me drool. For my main meal I had the cracked conch with peas and rice with a side of Bahamian baked macaroni. The macaroni was delicious and a definite must! The cracked conch and peas and rice almost made me weep with happiness, it took me right back to The Bahamas and the only thing missing in that moment was a beautiful Bahamian beach. My friend who was with me had the fresh fruit punch which I sampled and was refreshing and not too sweet. We also tried their version of conch salad made with fruit which my friend liked a lot. I however prefer the traditional version which they were happy to make for me. While we were there, a lot of talk out orders were being placed and the owner mentioned their wings have been very popular, so will try them during my next visit, I highly recommend this place, keep in mind they have only been open a month or so, so are still very fresh and new to the restaurant business. They do serve beer and wine including the Bahamian beer Kalik. Definitely go and check it out and support this authentic cusine!

Extremely unique and delicious menu. We tried jerk and buffalo wings, island burger, and jerk chicken. All were excellent. This is a new business and the owners are extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. I will definitely go back. I want to try their tapas!

Great place with awesome food and even better service. The owners, Jose and his wife Shelly(sp?) make you feel, from the moment you arrive as if you stopped by their home. Every time we mentioned something about a menu item, they offered to bring it to us to try it. We ordered a tray of cured meats and cheeses — one of those meats was duck ham — his was my first time trying duck ham and OMG, I am in love!!! This the best place to stop by and have a nice glass of wine(they have a great Albariño) and a few tapas …
