Coleman Worldwide Moving – An Agent Of Allied Van Lines

I wish I could rate this company with 0 stars. Todd, the sales associate came to my house to look at everything I have and accordingly he gave me quote for moving. Even though they were more expensive that any other quotes I received, I decided to use them because I though they would do a better job with one truck, and 2 days move. When the movers showed up at my my door, they were walking around for an hour before doing anything then I get a call from Todd, the sales associate that they can’t move my art work and paintings because I haven’t wrapped them for them and they are not ready to be moved. Wait a minute? I packed my entire house in 130 boxes so everything was ready for the move. Now you want me to warp my frames so you can move it? Then what is your job? Move them to a truck? I could have hired couple of guys for $ 10 an hour and didn’t have to pay them an arm and a leg. My repeated calls to Todd were pointless and he was no help and at one point he ordered the guys to get their stuff and leave. After a lot of screaming and non-​stop calling to their office, finally I got a manager on the phone and he told me that he will take care of things and the art work and picture frames were part of the wrapping and moving (not packing as Todd claimed) and finally 2 hours later, they started to move my furniture into the truck. I have to say this was not the movers fault and the 6 guys were all professional and very friendly and they did a great job. My issue is with the management.
I also paid $ 1000 for full insurance coverage but I couldn’t get the adjuster on the phone for a week to discuss damages and how they are planning to repair/​replace them. Finally she called me today after I left couple of angry massages for her and she wants me to do all work for them. If 3 out of 6 plates are broken and you can’t find the set anymore, how do you want to pay me only for the broken dishes? Either you find me the same plates and replace them or you have to pay me to buy a new set. I guess I am dealing with one lazy adjuster who doesn’t know how to do her job. But again, I deal with this kind of people everyday. Finally after leaving numerous messages and sending emails and threatening them about getting my attorney involve, after 2.5 months, I received a check in the mail.
This was the most stressful move I have ever done and I would never again use this company nor recommend them. I should have done a better research and read all the reviews.
