2 pizzas and an order of wings… 70 bucks… it wasn’t THAT good.

Expensive pizza. Nothing special to report. The wings were pretty good. Nothing special. Ordered a large pepperoni classic and two orders of wings and paid almost $ 60. Lots of cheese on the pizza but sloppy soggy and unremarkable for taste. I will save my money and go to Taste of Chicago in Addison who has a good try on Giordano’s.

First experience. We came in and noticed only 2 parties here. Pizza buffet looked sad… only 4 pizzas all were aleast half gone. Asked if we can request a pizza, they said«no, cause not everyone would like .» Even though it was just my group of 5 and a couple who were done eating. only saw one type of a «Chicago» deep dish pizza. salad was nearly wilted. Pizza was rubbery there were whole cloves of uncooked garlic in the pizza. Pizza sauce had the same quality as ragu in a jar. Its 12:30 and there’s only about 10 slices available. probably won’t come back.

So after my inability to try this place the 1st time I visited, I was excited to actually go. The review is pretty simple. Had I not paid $ 8 for a $ 20 voucher, this would be a –1 review. The«deep dish» was pan pizza and not deep dish. The classic style($ 10.99 plus $ 1.50 for a topping) was about the size of a personal pizza. Maybe the artisan places can get away with that, but this is fast food pizza and nothing more. I might have been OK had I used my $ 20 for the buffet and a pizza for my boys like I planned my 1st visit, but because they don’t do the buffet on weekends I ordered a deep dish(same pricing as the classic — a bit overpriced but not as embarrassing as the classic) and a classic to feed four of us. I still owed over $ 7 plus a tip. Seriously, one small man a small woman(who eats very light) and two kids who barely eat all left hungry discussing where to eat our real lunch. We each had 2 pieces of pizza. Again, $ 27 for 8 pieces of pizza(two of which were 2 bite pieces). Stay away unless you are into paying for false advertising(nothing Chicago about this pizza) and horrific pricing.

Was really excited to see a Chicago Gourmet Pizza place on my ride home. I ordered from there and asked for a «thin and crispy» pizza. During the exchange on the phone, I should have known that my expectations were not going to be anywhere close to met. Order taker says, we can’t do crispy or well done as it will burn the sausage. I should have known if they throw the sausage on top, it’s not from Chicago. Ordered the medium stockyards pizza, it ended up being over $ 20 for what was pretty much a doughy DiGiorno style pizza — apparently someone took the toppings hostage as they were scarce as chicken’s teeth. Pizza was cut into 6ths and one slice had no sausage«dab» at all. No pride put into building this pizza. So far as I can tell, the only things from Chicago are the signs on the walls — I should overnight them a real pizza from Chi Town. Clue #1 that these guys are posers was that the thin pizza was cut in slices, not squares like all traditional Chicago thin crust pizza. Crust was DiGiorno style and about the same texture as a Styrofoam peanut — Keep in mind this is after I ask for thin and crispy. If you are from Chicago, be forewarned — this is not a Chicago Style thin crust pizza place — at all. As far as customer service, starting off by telling your customers what you can’t do for them should have been my advanced warning.

My first experience with Deep Dish pizza was in the streets of Chicago… Stood in line… waited and then managed to get the pizza… that was in 09… The only other time, I had deep dish was at Chicago’s Gourmet Pizza in Plano… in 2013. and now I’m a big fan… I live in the apartment community right behind the store… so. makes it easy for me to call, make and order. and pick em up in 10 mins… I’m a repeat customer and have enjoyed their deep dish… so do my kids… Also love the fact that their soda comes in a large glass container… similar to the erstwhile milk bottles :) Never ordered delivery from these guys though! So cant comment on it. In all fairness, the community I live in is extremely large… and we are mostly Indians… we probably look alike to the delivery folks :) I wouldn’t be surprised if he looses his way around the community and delays resulting from it

Went in for a bite during lunch. They offer a buffet for 8.99 that consists of your choice of five pizzas, two salads and a drink. The pizza for the most part is better than your standard big chain pizza but wasn’t anything memorable. The choice selection won’t be bringing in the large crowds. Originally went there to curb a craving for a Chicago Italian Beef sandwich. The sandwich was VERY light with the beef. It was cut into halves and one half only had ONE very thin slice of beef… ONE. Ordered it with cheese and the Italian green peppers on a very nice roll. If you can get past the one very thin slice of meat on half the sandwich, which you can see is very hard for me to do, it was delicious. The bread toasted perfectly, the right amount of zip of the green peppers, the gooey melted cheese and the au jus made the sandwich. If they hadn’t had an oversight with the beef, I would have been a repeat customer the next day. The dining room walls are covered with a lot of Chicago memorabilia and enhances the atmosphere. On a hot Texas day the air conditioning was hard at work making my lunch very comfortable with the cool air filling the room.

Chicago’s Gourmet Pizza, welcome to my lunch rotation. Was a bit skeptical about this place since their name reminded me of «Chicago Pizzeria,» a now-closed pizza show by where I used to work. But, man, they blow them out of the water. No comparison. I tried their lunch special(specialty personal pizza and salad for $ 8.99), as well as one of their Chicago Dogs. The salad was standard, but I like the dressing selection(hello, Spicy Ranch!). As for the pizza, it perfectly curbed my craving. I tried the«Chicago Fire» since I like spicy stuff and it was full of cheese, REAL sausage, peppers and cilantro. And a ton of fresh garlic(which you can never have too much of). As far as deep dish goes, this is a winner. The dog, while good, was fairly average. Fresh veggies, nice poppyseed bun and plenty of heat on the peppers, but not nearly as enjoyable as the pizza.(It also comes with chips, btw.) I got my order to-go(online ordering system is very user-friendly), but the service seems nice. And they have a lot of Chicago-themed décor on the walls. Overall, definitely worth a visit.

It was a random visit as most places were packed. I just say it turned out to be a great choice. My favorite part, I did not take advantage of and that’s B.Y.O.B. won’t make that mistake next time. Tried a Chicago dog and although it is not just like a vendor dog in the city it was a close try. I think the beef just wasn’t big enough. It was over powered by the toppings. The pesto cheese bread was a hit. Fresh and oh so yummy. And then the closing goodness was a deep dish pizza. The name I forgot but what I won’t forget are how friendly they are with the toppings. Talk about sausage. Felt like I had meatballs in my pizza. Overall great experience and this will now make my list of places I frequent.

I’m not usually a fan of deep dish pizza, but I’ll make an exception for Chicago’s Gourmet Pizza. Their pizza is excellent. It’s not too deep or too loaded with sauce and they are very generous with topping. We love their Stockyards pizza, which is basically an all meat pizza. It’s a meaty, cheesy mess and sooooo delicious! They also make some great Chicago style hot dogs with all the helpings. Even when we order pizza, my wife and I always order one to share. We tried the wings as well, which while tasty are very small(way too small for $ 7). They’re also baked instead of fried, so don’t expect them to be crispy. Not something we’ll order again. Otherwise, if you have a craving for some good(not good for you) Chicago style food, this is the right place for you!

The $ 5.99 special is nice. It’s looks a little small, but It was decent. It’s tasted good, but didn’t remind me of a Chicago. The guy serving us was very nice and accommodated all our needs. I tasted the speghetti my friend ordered and another pizza with sausage. Both were good. I have no complaints. The place was big. Ample seating. It wasn’t busy so I don’t know how the timing is if you are on your lunch break. Give them a try!

Amazing food here! Probably the best Chicago style pizza I’ve ever had. Go there often. They deliver so it’s makes that much better. The Chicago 7 deep dish is off the charts!

To those from the Chicagoland area: If you’re looking for good tavern cut thin crust like they do in the Midwest then keep looking, good thin crust is apparently hard to find down south. It’s like everyone focuses on the«famous» deep dish and forgets literally everything else. To that point, the deep dish pizza isn’t bad. Also, they got all-Vienna beef dogs. Atmosphere, however, is just tons of random Chicago crap all over the walls. No Trivial Pursuit cards, no newspaper, and no beer. Also I saw like two bottles of ketchup by the kitchen and shuddered at the thought of what those could possibly be used for. To everyone else: You’ll probably love the random Chicago crap everywhere and the deep dish pizza. And if you don’t, then try the thin crust! It’s just how you southerners like it for some reason. Order a Chicago dog and then ask why there isn’t any ketchup on it!

Large Chicago-7 Deep Dish was large enough for the 2 of us. I think we ate 2 ½ slices each and took 3 slices home. It’s not as deep as authentic chicago style but it was still darn tasty. The ingredients were fresh and it was very obvious that the cheese was of highest quality. I got to chat with the owner for a bit and he was pretty cool. This Plano location will be closing in a month and a new location will be opening in Frisco. BTW…it’s BYOB.

During my first 2 weeks in town, I was inquiring at work about pizza in the area. My boss said this place was a recent find for him, and he really enjoyed it. I balked, because I am definitely a NY style pizza kinda girl. Deep dish pizza was ruined for me by a crappy pizza place in Gainesville and again by Papa John’s. I had looked this place up after my boss mentioned it, and I had decidedto give it a shot, at least. I got my chance during the amazing ice/snow dump we had a few weeks ago. I picked my daughter up at 6:30 from being babysat, and headed to Chicago’s Gourmet to pick up a medium(in case we didn’t like it) Sauce and Cheese pizza. I was grateful the place was open with all the ice, but they were and had the manager(is he the owner?) and another guy working. The joint was empty, but it reminds me of a super high end pub; it’s got beautiful dark wood, glossy tables, decent lighting, and the walls are all decorated in(what I can only presume to be since I’ve never been…) Chicago memorabilia. It definitely looks good inside.(A change for a pizza joint, y’all. For sure!) The guy behind the register joked and laughed with my kid and gave her a sticker that was a pizza with topping stickers(she loved it.) He gave us our pizza, and we were on our merry way. The pizza smelled DELICIOUS in the car, but getting home safely was more important than gorging myself on pizza, for that particular moment. We got home, anxiously pulled out a slice of pizza each, bit into it, and my mouth was vastly confused; I was hit with salty, sweet, yeasty, tomatoey goodness! GOODNESS! Yes! I had scored! I took another bite, trying to place all the flavors. This pizza is seriously good. The sauce has a legit tomato tang, and it’s sweet(not something I feel like you get too often on pizza.) The crust is incredible, but it has flavors that I can’t place. My daughter actually ate her entire crust, and she NEVER eats the crust. And apparently, this pizza is NOT Chicago-style, but I think what the website calls it is just deep dish. Either way, it’s delicious. My daughter also thought it was super yum, so when I find something she’ll actually eat all of, I“m pretty stoked. I’ve gone back one time since, and the pizza was just as good and the manager was just as friendly. I’m fortunate that this joint is on my way home from work, huh? It’s going to be part of the rotation, for sure. You can print off a coupon from the website for $ 3 off a large pizza or $ 1 off a medium.

I’ve eaten here about 4 times. The service is always friendly, sometimes slow but they are always so happy to have customers you feel like you’ve made their day by coming in. That’s a nice feeling ;) and is the only reason I am giving 3 stars, otherwise it’d be 2. My dad tried the hot dog and said it was pretty good, so I may try that the next time we go there. I’ve had the garlic cheese bread a couple of times and I’ve always enjoyed it. The pizza is ok, not great. If you are looking for good deep dish go a little further west in Plano and hit up Chicago’s Finest(formally Rosatti’s). Personally I like their thin crust pizza better than the deep dish. The salad they serve leaves a little bit to be desired but they will bring the dressing on the side which I appreciate.

This place is the best. for one you’ll never find a better chicago dog than this place. The pizza is amazing, the herb toppings taste like they were picked from a garden and put on your pizza. the italian sausage is amazing. The manager is such a cool guy, he make sure that everything is perfect. I go here every time that I want the best pizza, and chicago dogs in plano. Update 06/23/2011: As of late, we have been a little disapointed with the food. The salads have been terrible and the pizza not nearly as fresh-tasting. Although we still love this place, we have found alternatives that we like more.

I was craving deep dish so I Unilocaled this place. Due to positive reviews we decided to try it out. It was nearing closing time on a Wednesday so the place was empty. The owner greeted us kindly and was extremely nice during our entire visit. Not much to say, we ordered The Chicago Seven and a salad and we left with a full belly and i smile in our hearts. The pizza was huge and loaded with toppings. One slice would have been enough but it was too good to stop. This is a five star pizza all the way. If you are craving pizza then you must try this place. You will not be dissapointed. Cant wait to go back. Almost forgot to mention the dollar cork fee on beer and 2 bucks on wine. Cant go wrong with this place at all. And they serve the drinks in mini pitchers. Its awesome.
