I wanted to give my business to this store as they were the first to open in Plano, but the employees ALWAYS park in the handicapped spots, block the wheelchair ramp, and have an overall disregard for their regular customers. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!

Prices are good. There is a liquor store a mile from my house, but I go the distance here because they have people I can talk liquor with.

Great selection of liquor and spirits. This was the first place to get liquor license in plano; however, now others have followed suit.

It was fine… liquor. We didn’t need to go all the way to Goody Goody, and payed the same exact price for the vodka I like. Yup.

Short on many wines. I had a list of 20 World Wide Wines and they had exactly zero of them. These came from various wine stores around the nation as being great scoring wines at great prices. Places like Winex, Saratoga Wines, LA Wine Company and many others touting certain wines I know that are great. Sorry to say for your average drinker that could care less its a nice store. About 1⁄10th the size of Specs with products. I was hoping the short trip from my home would benefit in purchasing wines I was looking for. I will be going back to Specs in the future. The Service was okay but they also had Argentina wine in the Australia wine section. Very poor selections in Sauv blanc and Zinfandel wines. Not many Spanish nor Italy wines. Good enough if your looking for great beers and such. Just not quite what I was looking for.

Friendly service with a smile! Does it get any better than Angel’s? Probably not! Years ago a good friend and wine aficionado(JG) suggested I stop by Angel’s as a great place to find great bottles of wine. Little did I know this suggestion was going to be a mutually beneficial one for myself and the wine aficionado. Located directly between our two homes Angel’s did prove to give great advice and selection on wine. Leading me to purchase amazing wines only to end up delivering said wine directly to said aficionado’s home! Sneaky wine-o! It didn’t take long and Jerry at Angel’s soon zeroed in on exactly the kinds of qualities I enjoyed in my wine selections. He suggested a cab by the name of Crescendo, I loved it. I’ve probably bought at least a dozen bottles of it since then. But a couple of years ago I sold my home in the area and moved to Florida. Fortunately I’ve returned from Florida and last weekend was able to visit Angel’s! Sure enough Jerry remembers me, and remembers that I enjoy Crescendo. I always feel welcome and appreciated here. The best bottles of wine I’ve ever had have come from their suggestions and the prices can’t be beat. Melvin C.‘s review is a perfect description of what you can expect to find at Angel’s. If I could give 6 stars I would.

The best finds in life normally come at the recommendation of a friend. I can go to any major intersection in Plano and find beer/wine at the local gas station or some other store selling it. Rarely do you find a store with owners that actually know what they’re selling, have a clue as to what they’re talking about, or have good recommendations. Cue Angel’s Beverage. At the glowing recommendation from a friend, I swung by Angel’s located off Jupiter and Plano Parkway. Quite non-descript and wholly unimpressive on the outside, other than the sign above the store. The shopping center in which it’s located in is relatively empty, save for a car wash and auto repair center. Not normally a place most people would go unless they had a recommendation from someone. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with a very impressive wine selection. Two long rows of wine make up the vast majority of the store. Reds and whites from various areas of the world are represented fully here. They do not have the breadth of wine that a Central Market has, but again, their retail footprint is MUCH smaller.(You can’t compare a store that has 3−5x the footprint for wine, obviously) The wine they do have is all hand picked and the best at that price range and that type of wine though. The owners of Angel’s — Shawn O’Connor(wine director) and Jerry Kezhaya(buyer) — are always on hand to greet you and help you out. They’ll quickly narrow down the kind of wine you need to buy: red or white, fav type, pair with food, certain tastes/aromas, and price range. Answer those questions and they will ALWAYS have 2 – 3 selections they can instantly pick out and introduce to you. I have never been disappointed by the selections. Prices range depending on type of wine, but you can buy a lower end(but excellent) wine around the $ 10 range or go all the way up into the hundreds… it depends on your budget. What makes Shawn and Jerry so great is their passion and knowledge for their store and products. They travel quite frequently to wineries around the US and the world sampling and tasting wines. They’re not your average wine buyer who just reads a magazine, sees scores higher than 85, and buys whatever they can on sale. They truly know what they’re talking about and will make recommendations solely for you based on what you’re looking for. They also host wine and beer tastings at the store on a regular basis, which are great events to meet other regulars, talk to the owners, and learn some great wine tasting tips. And that’s just their wine. Their beer selection spans the entire eastern wall(refrigerated). Everything from your normal average Shiner and Buds to imported beer — your Belgian trappist ales,(Maredsous, Chimay), to your craft beers from around the U.S. Their beer selection is just as vast and varied as their wine selection. I normally enjoy trying a new 6 pack weekly, but if you have a hard time making up your mind, ask for some recommendations. You also didn’t hear this from me, but if you’re really adventerous, I recommend asking for the Dogfish Head IPA120, which, due to ABV(18%) is normally not able to be sold there or at most stores that cannot sell liquor. They have it in the back… it takes some gentle nudging if you really want to buy it. :) If you’re anywhere in the general vicinity, I highly recommend going to Angel’s for your beer/wine.
