I will give this place another chance. First time here — atmosphere is decent and the staff is very friendly. Food-well I have never had blander food in my life. Had the chicken Marsala– no flavor what so ever. Same with the mashed potatoes and vegetables. Someone should learn about reduction, carmelization, and salt and pepper.

Love this place. The price is right and the portions are large! It’s a gem of a place.

I am disappointed in Lola’s as my mother and sisters raved about the place. So my husband and I tried it out and I had the broccoli rabe with pasta. The broccoli rabe was flavorful but unevenly cooked. My husband had the swordfish which was bland. Knowing that sometimes places have an off night, we decided to try again and ordered from the catering menu for my mother’s 90th birthday party. I was charged $ 35 for a salad that when I got to my mother’s turned out to be mostly large pieces of lettuce with some red onion and very little else. To top it off, I had not been given any dressing nor had that fact been posted anywhere on the catering menu that one had to ask and pay extra for the dressing. In the eggplant parmesan, some pieces of the eggplant were hard and undercooked. The chicken francaise was tasty. When I called and complained about the salad, I was told that those were the ingredients of the tossed salad on the menu, but the tossed salad was not mentioned anywhere on the online menu. Maybe the third time is the charm?

My Fiancé and I decided to try out Lola’s last night for the first time. We decided to go in for a late dinner and it ended up being a great experience. Can’t say enough good things about this place. The food was amazing and the service was even better. We ordered the Chicken Lola and the Chicken Marsala and I would recommend both. On top of the great food and service, the BYOB make this place close to perfect. Plainville’s hidden gem.

What a great find in an out of the way spot in Plainville. Nice place. Great service. Patio was very nice. Lamb chops were delicious. My wife got the shrimp and said it was cooked perfectly. Our friends got scallops. They said they were delicious. BYOB made the night very reasonable. With dessert, two people got out for $ 50 plus tip. Definitely a do over! L-L-L-Lola! Great find.

Our first visit to Lola’s and we will be going back. On the plus side, the veggies were absolutely perfect, cooked through but not mushy. I had the apple and sausage stuffed chicken, the portion was large and the stuffing delicious, the chicken was thin and not dry. The gravy was tasty. My husband had the broccoli rabe stuffed pork, the presentation was lovely and he enjoyed it. The only negative to the main course was the Mashed potatoes, they were not hot and they were gummy. My husband had the greens and bean soup for an appetizer and it was chock full of both the greens and beans, he was very happy with it. Service was quick and attentive, only the waitress cleared our bread plates before the meal. I wish she had left them because the bread was good. We were too full to try the desserts. I also liked that the dining room was light even with the subdued lighting, made it easy to read the menu.

Located in the old GE factory, it’s easy to miss. Don’t! The menu is surprisingly good and very reasonable. So far it’s BYOB, so bring a bottle wine or some beer and enjoy.

Plainville’s hidden gem. Food is amazing no matter what you get. Especially the crab cakes. Fresh bread is a great plus. Definitely an older crowd in terms of clientele.

Ambience: Business casual, almost conference room like. Music: today’s pop hits. A style that seems to a little more geared toward a trip to a tgifridays or when walking through mall(Not what I was expecting here). I was eagerly waiting to hear if Nikki Minaj was going to come on while I was waiting for my bread. I was sadly let down. Server: Erika. Attentive but not overbearing. She noticed we didn’t bring a wine key so she offered to open it for us, which was nice. First course: mussels and chorizo: light, flavorful, mussels cooked correctly. The smoked paprika brodo was ok but I found the chorizo to be little on the dry side and had a taste that was more like a kielbasa. House bread was ok. Not sure if they make it in-house, and we didn’t ask, but It came out cold, which was disappointing since nice toasty Bread goes great with mussels… or any dish for that matter. Served with prepackaged butter pats and some kind of chopped herb dip which was nice. Scallops and butternut squash risotto: Scallops were cooked nice, risotto: heavy with the squash, kind of bland and erring on the side of too al dente. Pork shank: Dry, bland, like it was boiled in water for 4 hours, instead of slow braised for 8 in a nice wine. The accompanying jus tried to help, but it was lacking strength. Dessert menu: Verbalized as 3 items… Ny cheesecake, chocolate cake, tiramisu. We didn’t order anything for fear it was bought from a distributor as opposed to homemade. We believe this may be the reason why they cut off the music while we were still finishing our wines… A move we viewed as both good and bad.

I am not sure why the reviews are so great for this new restaurant. The dining room is so small that when a table is full in the center you can not get around the room at all and unfortunately you have to pass through this room to get to the restrooms. There is a small 5 seat bar you can eat at. They are BYOB. Upon being seated we were brought dirty glasses for our wine and had to ask for water, and then ask for straws after we found a waitress. The service was horrible. No one introduced themselves to us and when we finally ordered an app, it took almost 40 minutes to receive it. We were offered bread when we put the app order in and the bread never came out. We asked for the bread we were offered and it still never came out. We ordered lamb chops and a chicken lola. The menu says it comes with two sides but doesnt list options and the waitress said the sides were veggies and rice. Well I got veggies and no rice and my dining partner got rice and no veggies. Both had no flavor and tasted boiled and mushy. The chicken was dry. Oh and we were supposed to get soups with the entrée and that was forgotten as well. After we reminded the waitress she packed them to go. It was difficult to get good service at the bar, or any service for that matter so I cant imagine how bad it is at a table. We will not be back.

Went to Lola’s bistro & grill tonight and it was amazing. The service and food were excellent I enjoyed the monkfish as my dinner and started with French onion soup which was tasty with hot melted cheese over the top. The monkfish was sautéed with mushrooms and tomatoes served with veggie and mashed potatoes. I would recommend trying it was delicious portion are very generous. I had to take home some of this because I was so full. This place is a must try.
