Central Island Healthcare

Had to take my grandmother here after her hip surgery and it was a nightmare. Where do I start. First, the entire facility smelled like urine. Which did not leave a favorable first impression. Everybody in the facility looked miserable, old people were crying in the hallways, and my grandma did not get the proper care that she needed. Even the nurses at the Plainview hospital across the street know how bad this facility is. My grandma had another accident recently, and as my family and I were looking at the list of rehab places, a nurse passing by pointed to this location on the list and said «DO NOT GO HERE.» Apparently she worked there in the past and knew how terrible the place was.
To sum it up, do not go here, ever.

Very poor quality of staff and old. The wall paper is coming off the walls from the entrance lobby through the facility. The carpet is old and frayed.
Staff is not interested in the well being of the residents. Medical staff is not interested in the health of the residents. Much of the staff and the doctors are not born here in the USA and it is hard to understand them with the strong accents.
Think twice or perhaps three times before considering this facility.
