Beach Bum Tanning Plainview

After having the custom airbrush tan, with Jessica, I give bb tanning and air brush 5 stars. Jessica’s technique was perfect, the color looks so natural, yet deep enough to look like a natural glow. Truly a sunless glowing tan.

Beach Bum tanning is a great place to tan, theres no denying that. And now unfortunately I’m in the process of looking for a new tanning salon because i do not want one more encounter with that new manager. When ToniAnn had first started working there, I let the first few incidences blow off my shoulder, but enough is enough. I am SHOCKED that Beach Bum would hire such a nasty unprofessional person to run the store. The first time I had met ToniAnn, she was great. But that ended very quickly. The first incident (back in march) was when I came in to use the Blueberry. I had approached the desk i can remember how i walked in and thought i was invisible because her face was so buried into her cell phone. I literally had to say something for her to finally look up at me. My husband came in and asked ToniAnn a question about one of the packages, and when he wanted to buy the cheaper one, she did a sarcastic chuckle and made a rolled her eyes. The most recent occurrence was when I had called ask why my package was on hold, a young man picked up and promised me 3 separate times she would contact me, and she never did. I had enough with this. This never happened in the past. I have always been so happy with the staff! But i really will do anything to avoid dealing with her –so my husband and I are now looking for another salon. Its a shame.

I registered here to start building a tan before my vacation. I have never experienced such uninterested staff in my life. They didn’t even enter my name properly when registering me. They didn’t base it on my intake form, but based it on my license which has my full middle name on it. Upon going to a different Beach Bum salon, they couldn’t find me in their system for this reason.
Luckily, I won’t have to go back there again. I found a better salon and only will be tanning for 2 more sessions.

I have been airbrushing for over 10 years and have become fully addicted. I have been going to Beach Bum for several years and have had some wonderful talented airbrush techs over the years including Jen & Ella. Not so long ago I had a BEYOND horrific experience with Stephanie. She doesn’t know how to airbrush well– I had streaks in some areas and did not even look tan in others I have never been treated so horrible. What was even worse then her airbrushing ability was her attitude. She was very rude and disrespectful. I cannot believe she has a position in which she deals with customers. Her attitude is horrible. If you are going to Beach Bum to get airbrushed make sure you don’t have an appointment with Stephanie!

Tanning… a guilty pleasure of mine. What can I say? It’s a tanning salon. There are about 20 rooms with beds and standups. Sometimes the staff can be a little aggressive when they are trying to sell you stuff which is annoying. But if you want to get your tan on Beach Bum dominates LI. They also have airbrushing here which I get done for special occassions.

The prices are pretty decent considering the fact that they’ve been having great specials lately. My favorite being $ 14.95 for a month of unlimited tanning for new customers and $ 20.00 a month for 10 bronze sessions. I don’t think I’d go if they didn’t have these specials.
The beds appear to be clean and most of the staff is friendly and polite but there’s this one girl who was incredibly rude and made my entire visit completely unpleasant. I’m usually pretty tolerant of things like that because I know how it feels to have to deal with customers all day but her attitude was completely uncalled for. I’m even considering finding a new salon to avoid dealing with her again.
Overall, a good tan at a decent price.
