Food was great, just had an issue with my change. I was suppose to get $ 11.08. I got back $ 11, asked for the rest and was told I got it all back. Lucky I gave a $ 3 tip on a $ 48 bill. Never has happened to me before ANYWHERE else. NEVER going back!!!

The steak fajitas were excellent! Ice cream dessert was also fantastic, a little pricey but good restaurant.

Very impressed by the décor! that was my first impression, then we met Adrian our server who was incredibly polite and super professional. He introduced him self, and explained the menu and drinks, and made great suggestions! To me that is the most important part of any business, excellent service and wonderful food surrounded by a great environment is a key to success. We will be back. Great drinks also!

Got there just before 7 tonight(Friday) and no one else was in there. We decided to go in anyway. I have bought better, fresher chips from jewel, and the enchiladas were terrible. Nothing tasted fresh except the salsa(which was good). My husbands steak was ok. The only bright side was our waitress. She was very sweet. We won’t be back. It is overpriced and you can go almost anywhere else and get better food probably for a cheaper price.

We have been here twice. The first time was okay, not great just okay. The second time we came was during a car show in the summer. We brought a group to get drinks and some appetizers. I went in and told the hostess we would like a table outside, and was told those were first come first serve. So some of our party went outside to wait and I went to the bar to order drinks, I waited over 25 minutes for the drinks because they didn’t have enough glasses and kept having to wash them as they came back from other tables in order to complete our order. We didn’t complain, waited patiently and paid close to $ 70 for just drinks. The rest of our party had waited for an outside table, and we finally were able to sit down with our drinks and discuss getting some food. 5 minutes later, a hostess or manager comes over to ask us to leave because another party complained that we had a table with just drinks and they(the other customers) didn’t think we were waiting as long as they were! AREYOUKIDDINGME??? WHATKINDOFHOSTESS/MANAGER AREYOU??? WHYAREYOUEVENBOTHERINGUSWITHSOMEOTHERPERSON’S DRIVEL? I explained that the hostess had told us these tables were first come, first serve AND that we had waited over 25 minutes for the table. She said the girl had made a mistake. You know what? You needed to handle that with her for the next time, NOT ask us to leave after spending $ 70 for mediocre drinks. We will never, ever, ever, be back.

Overpriced. Poor service. They brought us the wrong food. Forgot that we ordered more drinks.

Wow, ordered a $ 15 burrito that was DISGUSTING and not edible. I’m not a picky eater and I could only swallow one bite. I even told my waitress that I couldn’t eat the meal and she just said sorry and never offered to replace the burrito. My dining companions ordered a mojito that was cloyingly sweet and their meats were incredibly salty. I run a large food instagram account with over 600k followers and I would have been happy to take a picture of my meal and share my comments like I do with so many other restaurants, but instead I came home hungry and upset about paying $ 15 for nothing. Honestly, this is terrible customer service and they lost my business for that $ 15 burrito.

Came in last night again. Another good experience. The enchiladas really are very good and I love the refried beans and rice they come with. I think it seems like the salsa has changed a little but I really liked it. We did not get the pickled vegetables on our table so I don’t know if they’re still doing that. We went right at 5 and were the only table in there but by the time we left it was filling up a bit.

Food was good, but not outstanding. For the price, the food should be outstanding. Many of the previous Unilocalers complained about the service, 4.5 stars for service, once you get seated. Drinks are expensive, but are huge, still the size doesnt mean they are worth the price, just more ice. Parking on a weekend night is an issue. A party of 6 or more can make reservations, Still you may need to wait. If you come later, like 8⁄830 you’ll likely get seated quickly.

LUNCH89.00 including 20% tip. What?! Breakdown: 3 women 2 Medium(24oz) frozen Margaritas @ 19.00 each! Expected them to be AMAZING at that price. Tasted mostly of sour mix and were not blended very well. If there was alcohol in them, you could have fooled us. 1 Iced Tea 1 tiny bowl of plastic looking(and tasting) queso 2 burritos(two of us shared) The food was average. Definitely not worth the price tag. Left with the feeling that we had just been robbed. So disappointed.

My dad and I decided to try them out because we were craving Mex for lunch and we were not disappointed! We also wanted a nice patio to sit on and enjoy the day. The chips, salsa, and queso were all great! We split the burrito suizo which was also awesome, especially with steak. Very flavorful! I had a fantastic tasting strawberry-banana margarita that also looked great. For that day it was the special for $ 5 too! Can’t beat that for the quality is was. The best part was our waitress Jenny! She was so awesome! She always checked to make sure we were okay and was very friendly. I hope she’s there when we return. I’d highly recommend eating here! :)

My friends and I all live in town, and our husbands/boyfriends are all firefighters with busy schedules. It’s hard to find a day when we all have off from work. The one day we could find, we decided to try out this restaurant in town. The food was pretty good, but it took a half hour to get our drinks and to even get our orders taken. Mind you, the place was not that busy; many other restaurants on Lockport were much busier. After we ordered our food, it took roughly 45 – 50 minutes for it to arrive. When it came, the waiter handed my friend’s husband a scorching hot plate without warning and burned his hand. At this point, we had been at the restaurant for almost 2 hours and just wanted our bills so we could leave. Waiting for the bills was another fifteen minutes, and even getting our bills paid took long. I’m very disappointed that we wasted our one night all off together at this restaurant when we could’ve gone down the block for the same, if not better food and much better service.

Let me start by first saying the food was good, but dang it was expensive. My husband ordered the enchiladas and they were $ 14, I got the appetizer chicken quesadila for $ 10 and shared that and a «side» of rice with my daughter for $ 4. Yes, a side of rice for $ 4 and honestly it was no more than the size of a deck of cards in a small dish. We also ordered the queso dip which was tasty, but in no way worth the $ 8 price tag(maybe worth $ 5). We also ordered a margarita and one beer and our total was $ 60. I had looked up their menu online before we went and there were no prices, I should have known. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for paying for good food and good service, but I can go up 59 to Burrito and get more food for half the price. And, I think Burrito has better food. We won’t be going back.

Went to this place last night for the first time. Atmosphere was very nice. The wait staff seemed enthusiastic and eager to wait on us. They were very attentive throughout our meal. The margarita I ordered I had to send back as it was very bland and tasted like just a mix. After they added a shot of grand mariner, it looked like a margarita and tasted like one. And my husband had 2 Modelo beers. The waiter brought us some complimentary Mexican vegetable and rice soup which was the best I’ve ever had. We ordered the 3 homemade tamales for an appetizer which were bland and lacked seasoning. However the mole sauce was delish! Our entries were the steak fajitas and the shrimp with Diablo sauce. Both of which were very good. That being said and all we had to eat and drink, the bill was $ 100. All in all this is definitely far more expensive than the food and drinks we had. We will NOT back.

We visited this restaurant for the first time late on Mother’s Day. It was pretty busy but the place was clean & the service was great. We had to wait about 10 minutes for our reservation but the hostess apologized at least twice & kept checking on us during our wait. Everyone in our group loved the food they ordered & we had a complimentary dessert of dulce de leche cake with chocolate drizzled cinnamon chips. I ordered the chimichonga suiza & it was really delicious! The portions are very generous too. The chips & salsa were AMAZING! The drinks didn’t seem to have much alcohol in them. My husband had a «medium» margarita that was HUGE, I think it was $ 16. I had the much smaller $ 5 special mango margarita, it was just ok. All in all, it was a good experience & we will definitely return for the food!

There is a ritual all Californians who move to Illinois do… We are always on the hunt for good authentic Mexican food. Volar is a new restaurant offering«Authentic Mexican» food. They are in the«soft open» phase. The good news is there were lots of people trying the new eatery. It’s a tough market in the downtown Plainfield area, so it’s nice to see the response… I never got the chance to review the seafood place the building housed a few months ago! Great overall experience. They have done a nice job of remodeling. Exceptional service, We never had a water glass get more than a few sips out of it and it was refilled. The chips were served warm and had lots of good corn flavor, the salsa was good and had just enough heat for Illinoisans! We «Calie Girls» prefer it a bit hotter! They had a nice selection of Margaritas… We tried a few… and then a few more! The food is good, the refried beans are made in-house and delicious! There were a few food issues that I’m chalking up to being new, such as the enchiladas, although delicious, they either had too much or not enough sauce. The overall food quality and taste was good with generous portions. During our meal they gave us complimentary items to try, some chicken soup that had great flavor, a Chile Relleno that had good flavor and consistency, but was a bit oily, and dessert, a cheesecake that was yummy with perfect texture. I’m cheering for them to succeed! I’m going back, I think they have the chance to get the 5th star on my next visit.

EXCELLENT, fresh food! Front Street was always our go to for Chimichangas. Not anymore! The food was great, the prices were awesome and our server Alfonso was helpful, knowledgable, and spot on! I can’t say enough good things about Volar!

Great experience! We had Alfonso as our server and he was excellent. Servers were attentive and service was quick! We had the empanadas for an appetizer and they were so good! The complimentary soup is really good and unfortunately I ate it all and didn’t leave enough for room for dinner. My husband had the skirt steak medium rare and said it was extremely tender. We will be back! Give it a shot!
