Awesome rums and agave spirits! Fantastic craft cocktails! However, one of the biggest detriments to this establishment is the bartender named KC. He has an attitude toward the patrons, a terrible personality and does nothing to promote the atmosphere they are trying to create. He is unfriendly, rude, unprofessional and short pours drinks. Love to support them, as they are local, but he makes it difficult to have an enjoyable experience.

I was absolutely in love with the idea of a distillery in Plainfield and the atmosphere doesn’t disappoint, unfortunately the rum is nothing special and the bartender is one of the most condescending I’ve encountered in a long time. He assumed his product would sell itself and maybe he was channeling the Casablanca style atmosphere, but he was rude and the product did not sell itself. The bartender lost any possibility of future sales they would have garnered from my support of local business alone.

We stopped in on a quiet Sunday afternoon and were incredibly impressed with each cocktail we tried and the service. We even ended up buying a bottle of the agave to take home. If you’re in the area, you must stop in here for a drink or two.

Excellent hand crafted cocktails using the delicious spirits of tailwind. Once you walk in the door you will be transported to the tropical warmth. This distillery offers rums and tequilas which is a wonderful change from the constant vodkas and gins saturating the Midwest. Tours are available with tastings. Of note, their tasting room, bar is an excellent spot to grab a drink before dinner and after dinner.

This place is great, love the fact that it’s a family owned local distillery. They have really tasty drinks and friendly staff. Will be going back again for sure!

Love the story of the four brothers and piloting history that is attached to this place. They are living the American dream as a family and producing great product while doing so. The environment makes you feel like you are in the Caribbean and the drinks second that. I’ll be going back again when I need an inexpensive way to get away. It is so comfortable I may go there I Friday and bring in my lunch and have a drink.
We didn’t get a tour but sampled all 5 of the rum and tequila that they make. $ 5 to sample all 5. I bought a bottle of Amber for $ 34 but enjoyed the coffee rum and agave reserve as well. The white rum had too big of a punch for me.
Support them locally as they sell at Binnys but their margins are better at the Tailwinds location. Same price whether you buy there or elsewhere. They also have food trucks every now and then. Support a great product and a great family story and try them out.

Awesome place that makes their own rum and agave (tequila). Supper friendly family run business with outstanding products. They have Cruise night Sunday’s from 5 – 9 every Sunday in summer. You will not regret a visit!

I went for the tour a couple months back and was really impressed. They limit what they make, but what they make is truly a world class product. I’d put what they make up against anything else in the market.
The bar opened several weeks ago and tonight we gave it a whirl.
They make excellent hand crafted cocktails out of their own product and their product only. Don’t go expecting a beer, wine or a gin & tonic.
Being rum & agave it’s more of a tiki bar feel. Nice and relaxed, with reasonably priced drinks and great people.

Beverages are very tasty. Even if rum and agave «tequila» like beverages are not your thing, you will find something on their drink menu to enjoy.
