Milette’s Cakes Bakery

I won’t take any stars away from it being so far from Chicago, because this is solely a review of Milette’s crafts: her cakes and works of art! She has quite the variety, from your basic yellow cake chocolate frosting cupcake, to the exotic ube (taro root. creamy, purple… just try it!) It’s always difficult to choose one, but my personal favorite being the pistachio cake with white chocolate ganache and fresh raspberry filling. The cupcakes I’ve tried all have this light, buttercream frosting that to me is refreshing and not too sweet. And the cake is always super moist, they’re good even when they’re cold from the fridge. Milette’s cakes made my baby shower winter themed cake! Omg it was so beautiful and it tasted so yummy! Its everything i wanted and more!!! And the polar bear was absolutely adorable!

I want to start off by saying that Milette is an absolute angel. So sweet and genuine. She worked with me because I had a budget and the cake came out beautiful and delicious! 5 stars for going above and beyond. So glad I found out about her!

Great cupcakes and magnificently decorated cakes. My favorite is the ube cupcake, hands down!

This review is based solely on service, or lack of. I’ve visited the bakery twice and both times left empty handed because of the poor service I received. The staff (different people each time) acted as if I was doing them a favor by attempting to make a purchase. Shouldn’t a business at least make half an effort to service customers with enthusiasm and appreciation? They must have missed that memo. The staff was nonchalant at best and basically told me they couldn’t meet my request to order a birthday cake with 48 hours notice. I can understand being booked. But the attitude that they couldn’t be bothered to make a ‘basic’ cake was beyond me. Even when I tested the waters to up the budget, they were suddenly booked. Really??? I promptly took my business elsewhere and ordered a fabulous, ‘non-​basic’ cake that my guests raved over. Even though this bakery is close, I won’t bother with them again. A long drive is a small price to pay for courtesy, appreciation, and great service for their customers.

The cakes are absolutely to die for. I’ve been going to Milette since 2012! Ive been a super loyal customer. She makes the most detailed and delicious cakes! She is definitely a master of her crafts. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Cakes are absolutely delicious as well. It’s hard to find cakes that are not too sweet and perfect. We’ve had quite a few different types of flavor. Pistachio, mango, red velvet, etc. mmmm!
She’s definitely worth the drive. Her work is beyond measurable. I don’t know how she does it. You’ve made so many incredible memories for us. And I can’t wait to continue to make more!!!
When I get married you will be my go to!

Milette is a wonderful person to do business with. She met every one of our requests to make the perfect, most delicious 60^th Anniversary cake for our parents! I would HIGHLY recommend her for your bakery needs:)

I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes on a Friday for a Sunday pick up, while thankful they were able to fill my order… I almost fell on the floor when I saw the bill. $ 3.25/ea for plain vanilla or chocolate cupcakes, no filling and plain buttercream frosting. Nothing fancy. They were good but most certainly not worth $ 3.25 each. We are in Plainfield here NOT Naperville! I could see the cost if this were a sheet cake and decorated but this was not the case.

Creative and unique cupcakes! They are located downtown and it used to be Cathy’s sweet creations. There is a large variety to choose from, whether you are a chocolate lover, fruit, or just craving a cool creation, they have it!

Milette’s cakes bakery is by far the best cakes in town! Her new shop is located in the cutest town of Plainfield. Her talent is extraordinary and it is portrayed through her artistry in her cakes.
I cannot even pick a favorite flavor cake of hers because I love it all! From Mango to Ube to Pistachio to Mocha you name it everything is beyond exceptional. Yup even Mocha! And I didn’t like Mocha growing up lol.
Not to mention she won on food networks Cupcake Wars!!!
She made my bridal shower cake which was phenomenal and an LV cake.
There is this one flan cake pastry she makes which is out of this world!
I will def come back and try other pastries!
