Bed Bath and Biscuits in Plainfield doesn’t board your pet on site. They ship your pet, according to the girl I spoke to there, 25 miles west to be boarded. In other words they are «setting up shop» in a metro area and then loading up business into a van from there and bringing the animals into the countryside where their actual facilities are located.
Grooming is done on site and could very well be spectacular. I have no idea, thus the three star «benefit of the doubt».
Just beware of their «cage em and ship em out» boarding practices. In my opinion this is too stressful for any pet to endure. Besides that, they don’t seem to be very upfront about it at all. I had to ask 10 – 12 questions, on the phone and in person, before they revealed how they operated. Maybe this should be one of the first things they tell someone when they inquire of their services? Afraid of losing business I suppose.

Unfortunately for our dog, we have to leave town occasionally and he can’t come with us. But, fortunately for our dog, there’s Jill at Bed Bath & Biscuits to watch him during those times! We’ve boarded our dog at a few places and are glad we came across this one. Now, it isn’t a doggy daycare like other places, so the dogs aren’t playing with each other. This does, however, mean the price is lower. We recently boarded our pup here for a long weekend and it was about half of what it would have cost at a daycare center. So even though it isn’t daycare and the dogs aren’t playing with each other all day, it seems like they have lots of room to roam and get plenty of playtime. Our guy came home tired and happy. Jill even sent along a few pictures of him playing around and it looks like he was in doggy heaven. We’ll definitely be bringing our dog back again next time we’re out of town.
