We showed up 15 minutes before close and we’re refused service saying they were already closed even though the sign said open. Not sure we will try to go back. As a manager of a frozen dessert establishment I’d be furious with such employees as this place has. Not a good first impression.

Ice cream is sometimes good. Service is usually not. Last time I went the high schoolers were more interested in making themselves food to take home at the end of their shift than making a milkshake and a cone. It took somewhere between 10 – 20 minutes to get our VERY simple order and we were the only people there. After we were both disappointed. I got black cherry and it hardly tasted like anything and didn’t leave the best taste in your mouth. I ended up tossing it. Milk shakes are usually ok, slightly better than McDonald’s but for the outrageous prices you might as well just go to McDonalds or drive farther out to find a Dairy Queen. Don’t waste your money unless you’re ok with below average ice cream and awful service.

Stopped by in the way through town. The food was delicious! Definitely recommend this place for a quick bite. I made a request for a cherry slush and soft-serve ice cream combo and they were very happy to accommodate the request. Very tasty!

This may have some cool old school ice cream stand love but I am not a fan. I hadn’t stopped in here since I worked in Plain City 5 years ago. I drove away disappointed, based on their soft serve ice cream. I ordered a banana ice cream cone, that was stupid of me, for $ 2.19. So here is my first complaint, the price seems way too high for a small soft serve ice cream. Next complaint is on the banana taste, I couldn’t taste it. The ice cream was icy like the cheaper soft serve cones from Burger King. They don’t use the top quality soft serve. My cone was also stale. I should of gone to McDonald’s and got the same thing but as a vanilla cone for a lot cheaper. I may stop back because they have a Unilocal deal to get a free big wheel with purchase but I won’t get soft serve from here again. They serve Hershey’s ice cream and do have other choices. I think this place survives on nostalgia and lack of competition. I had friendly service but that was about it.

Wow, this little shack is old school, but is esentially what all ice-cream businesses should be like. They have tons of flavors of ice-cream to choose from, and they don’t just stop at the ice-cream niche. They also have a list of hot items if you’re looking for a stop for dinner, or lunch as well. This place makes me remember my childhood in the small town that I grew up in.(Ashville, represent!) It’s nice that places still exist in nice little towns such as Plain City. Out back are plenty of picnic tables, so stop, take some time, enjoy the day, and focus wholly on you and that ice-cream cone dripping down your hand.

Eskimo Queen has great food. BUT, they need to have at least two people staff the stand. The service is extremely slow.. . And, their ice cream products can be inconsistent. You might get a great shake one day and the next time the shake is poorly mixed.

Another«as good as it gets.» This is a classic old-school ice cream stand. I used to come here 20 years ago, and it hasn’t changed much. Well, they take credit cards now, not that you’ll need them with such low prices. Ice cream, shakes, sundaes, and an assortment of fried foods. Stand there trying to choose from so many enticing options. Order at one window and pick up at another. It’s hard to resist stopping every single time I drive past…
