I also had a very similar experience with them. Brought in 20 items and the owners daughter was working the counter and said I would receive a confirmation via email
for the 20 items received. I never received it.
When I called to find out what was up, they confirmed all my items had sold and my email address had been entered incorrectly into their system. I reminded her that they state in their contract they mail checks monthly for items sold and I had not received any checks.
She said she would have the email address corrected in their system and send me a check. I sent several emails to the owner, which were all unanswered.
Never did get the email or the check, as promised. Later, when I went by the shop it was closed and no information anywhere as to their whereabouts.
Apparently we’ve all been scammed. Very unfortunate situation, I brought in some very nice prom dresses and other rather expensive items.

Have had a similar experience. Brought a bunch of items in to cosign before I moved to San Francisco. Was told by the owner that she would look through the items, give me a record of what was taken and when it sold and then donate the rest. A week or so later before I moved, I checked back in to tell them I would be moving and gave the owner my forwarding address. As she confirmed that things of mine had sold, she would send a check along shortly. Weeks later had still not received anything, so on a trip back to Placerville, stopped in and talked with the girl working behind the counter who happened to be wearing one of the dresses I had brought in. Left my phone number and new address again and was told once more that absolutely, they would send a check. Still nothing.
6 months and counting… I, like the other reviewer, have tried to call several times with nothing but a useless fax as an answer. On another trip home to Placerville, tried to stop in and also found the shop closed with no explanation during posted opening hours. Managed to find an email address for the owner Christine Najera and wrote explaining my frustration. Finally did get a reply back saying this was the first that she’s heard of my efforts (ok sure, whatever) and would send a check along right away. This was now over 3 weeks ago and still NOTHING.
The few times I was able to browse the store when they actually were open, saw some cute items. But receiving the unethical treatment I have trying to conduct business with New Unto You, advise to STAY AWAY!

When I took clothing in to this shop last October, I asked for a receipt for the items I was leaving. «Oh, we’ll send one to you within a week.», I was told.
«Can’t you give me a receipt now?», I asked.
«No.», was the response.
It took far over a week and more than one request to finally receive a list of things I had left in the shop. I received it via email.
I was instructed to pick up my unsold items on January 6^th.
When I called to arrange to come in and get my items, I was told not to come in ’till the following week. Again, I called to say I was on my way in, and once again I was told NOT to come in, but wait another few days. I waited, and went in on the agreed upon day. The door was locked and the shop was dark. I was stood up.
Over the remainder of the month I called and stopped by, only to have the calls unanswered (no answering machine, and the ringing eventually connected to a useless fax) Parking in downtown Placerville can be a challenge, and several times I encountered a dark shop with locked doors.
I inquired at the diner across the hall: «Do you see anyone here?»
«They are in and out.» was the response.
I called.
I e-​mailed.
I resorted to leaving the owner a message on her Facebook page.
At the end of the month, I wrote to the owner and told her I was about to contact the El Dorado County Sheriff.
The next day, when I called, they were open.
I immediately went in to collect my belongings.
The woman behind the desk was on her cell phone. «Just a sec’. I’ll be right back.», she told her caller.
She handed me an envelope with cash, and pushed a release form at me. «Sign here.»
My items were in a plastic grocery back. (I brought things in on hangers.)
«WE LOST SOME OF YOUR ITEMS.» I was told. Again, she pushed me to sign the form.
After going over the form, item by item, and counting the paltry sum I was given, I signed the form and gathered my things to leave.
«Do you have any questions or comments?» I was asked.
«I WILL NEVER BE BACK.», I said.
