I called the registration desk to confirm my reservation and the gentleman was very rude and cursing me out, lol guess we won’t be staying there.

4 stars, because it is a very good motel indeed. We were not planning ahead and all bed and breakfast places were booked up. Oh well… motel it is then.
The place is pretty basic, but newly remodeled. Very clean. Some things didn’t work (the bed side lamp switch for example — I operated it by screwing the light bulb in and out). Also, the online reservations are not taken by this property but by the property next door. So if you booked online, the front desk person will run over next door to retrieve the paperwork. They might be under common ownership. The front desk person was really friendly, and brought us a wine opener we badly needed. For the price of $ 88 per night (including tax) for a king on Saturday it is really a good deal. Queen is 78 and double is 68 by the way. Normally you have to be prepared to shell out way more. Also the motel next door has a pool and you can use it I believe.

3.5 stars. Fairly good value, but an odd place. Undergoing renovation. Rooms are large. It is owned by the same people who own the motel right next door. You can use that swimming pool if you wish, and the minimal breakfast is provided at the place next door. TV’s out of date, but they do have cable.
Staff was friendly, but it was difficult to get proper information on how to tap into the wireless.

Deepak, talking of being honest. There was no discussion of a deposit I booked online. She charged the card $ 247 with no discussion if a deposit. $ 247-​$ 52. is $ 195 deposit. If you were not crooked you wouldnt have charged my card because you have it on file. You know how you do everyone else so why is the receipt charging for three nights. The argument started when we waited an hour for a room that was being remodeled. Missing doorknobs painted over mold and being remodeled. We wanted a refund for everything. Then your wife says we are homeless white trash and so on. Its 11pm my daughter is four. So because my wife did have words to say i asked her to leave. She did I then asked your wife to unlock the door one to make sure I had my phone two to record try try the dump. She had to unlock the door and I assure you that you my friend are the liar. Your wife did attack me and Unknown to her I was recording this. So the witnesses would be myself, and my video. Your wife first saw I was recording and jumped on my back slamming shut the tablet with a blue tooth key board. So after she physically attacked me she claimed to call 911 saying I attacked her. Sound still rolling on recorder. Yes I did leave your dumpy hotel and went up the road to wait for the police. They never arrived and so I made a police report. Yes I do heating/​ac. I do sales and service. Nothing to smash my figure. If your rooms are so great why was I attacked while recording. I will not pay for something I that we didn’t break. Are you not supposed to charge after any damages or did you guess. Funny there’s other reviews with similar charging complaints but one five star Unilocal review for who I’d assume is your witness on the same date. Unlike yourself I won’t try to settle over a couple hundred dollars. Im using the proper channels and will make further complaints other than the fraud, theft, racist, violence and a very unpleasant experience. Your governed by agencies as the health dept. So theft and violence, lies from a hotel owner tells me that’s its not a safe place to stay. There are twenty hotels within ten miles that I’d be happy to assist anyone who reads this locate. I’ve been completely honest and your story is clearly a cover up. Even if you offered my money back x2 it is not going to change the coarse of future actions. I reached out to you hoping to squash a bad night and I heard something completely different

One of the best low fare motor lodges I have stayed in. Proprietor was very welcoming and quick to get me checked in. Very clean room and well appointed. I would definitely stay again.

If there was a way to write a minus star I would. We came to Gold Trail to stay from out of town. Paid the pet fees and went to dinner. The owner called to complain about excessive pet noise and that she would call animal services, she stated that there was to be no noise past 10, it was at 7. We returned and tried to enter our room, they locked us out. We tried to get them to come down and unlock the room, they came reluctantly and yelled at us, and told us to leave! after we paid them money to stay and they wouldn’t refund. We called the police and asked them to give our money back and they said they would not. So we reluctantly said we would stay even though they would have switched the locks on us at any moment. The owners were un professional and very unpleasant. We ended up leaving not to long after the police did. So uncomfortable, worst hotel experience ever. The customer is not right here. The room was awful and small and smelled like something rotten.

From the outside it looks like an unassuming motel, with neon signs and all. But don’t let that fool you! On the inside the rooms are just as comfortable and clean as any large chain hotel.
Recently renovated and well maintained. There’s a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot in the room. The owner is very friendly. Slept great! Comfortable bed and pillows. Its right off the highway which is convenient. Its also very quiet.

Five out of five stars. Great price, clean room, right off of highway 50. My wife and I came to Placerville for a wedding and wanted to stay close to the venue but not pay a small fortune for a room. While a lot of people stayed in folsom we researched the area and found this place. It was perfect for what we needed it for, a place to crash after the wedding The staff were friendly and even wrote down directions to the venue because they said the gps gets people turned around. Again, small room, old school tv with cable, comfortable bed, clean bathroom, one nightstand, small desk and chair and heat and air conditioning. Not fancy, but clean and comfy. If you’re looking for a place to simply crash for a night or two, I’d highly recommend this place.

You can’t expect much for $ 60 a night. So don’t. This place is in the process of being remodeled so that added to a generally dumpy atmosphere. That said, due to the remodeling, there were few guests and it was quiet. The room was a bit shabby, but it was clean and it was spacious. The heater worked well, maybe a bit too well. That was key as it was pretty cold up there.
All in all, we were happy with it given the super affordable price.
