Colvin Shell Service Station

This station is way more than a dollar more expensive did any place else how can they even justify this I can’t believe anybody even go there for gas

BUYER BEWARE!!! What is wrong with this place charging over $ 1.00 more per gallon than every other station within town. The ONLY reason I got gas here a couple months ago was because my car ran out of gas and I coasted into the parking lot… had I looked at the price board I would have more than happily pushed my car another 600 ft. down the road to the next gas station.

RIP OFF! Why is this station $ 1.00 per gallon higher than anything in the area?

Horrible and rude service! We had a 2 year old that wanted to use a restroom and employee gave us a major fit! Why Shell can’t fire that jerk?

Awful! Stopped here this morning on my way to tahoe… and fuel was a dollar more expensive than anywhere else. And out of order restroom… never again

Never met such a rude gas station employee! Even basic customer service was non-​existent. I badly needed to use the restroom and I did see the sign that says «No Public Restroom» but I still went in having an intention to purchase after I used the restroom. I asked the employee and he said restroom is for paying customers only so I said okay we will get gas. At this point, I was walking towards the restroom as I badly needed to go. He yells at me and says he already said its only for paying customers. I said «yes, I told you we will get gas but I need to use the restroom first». He said no! I was so shocked but still went out to my husband who was waiting in the van and told him to go get gas since the guy does not believe me. Another car was blocking his way but he was driving towards the station. I go back into the store and the guy tells me again to get the gas first before I use the restroom! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I said my husband is going to load gas now! I was also losing my temper and said he has serious trust issues. Then he calls me a «bitch» and asked he me to leave the store, and kept calling me names! I would have bought stuff from the store but my wallet was in the car and badly needed to use the restroom. Never go to this store unless you are ready for this kind of behavior! You have been warned! I am a decent person, the type who would buy something at least because I understand they run a business. But this is just a bad way of running one.

This place is horrible. Was traveling from out of town and stopped to use the restroom. From the minute I walked in, the employee working had a major attitude. I asked where the restroom was and was replied to with are you going to buy something. I politely said no and answered that I was traveling from out of town. He was snarky and extremely rude and wouldn’t let me use the restroom without purchasing anything first! No where in the store that was visible were any signs stating that the restroom was for patrons only ! This guy was a huge jerk! do not give them your business.

One of my favorite gas station is the area. I love going to this shell station, it’s on my way to work, their prices are few cents higher than the other stations but the customer service beats it and worth the extra few cents.
Every morning I buy, gas, coffee and snacks for my drive to work.
I agree with another Unilocaler, wish they had a bigger selection of fresh/​hot food.
Employees are always nice and have smile on their face.
Food Mart/​inside of store is small but seems to have everything.
They also have greener fuels like E85 flexfuel gasoline and HPR diesel.

May be you guys should read what customer service is, according to Wikipedia, «Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase»…
and none of you purchased or were going to purchase something. It’s funny how most of you failed to read signs they have on their windows, reads «No Public Restroom» and inside the store, «Restrooms for Paying Customers Only» instead got mad the attendant I’m not picking side but believe your review should reflect a «customer» experience.
Can you imagine leaving 1 star review for five star Restaurant /​Hotels, just because they are expensive or out of your reach.

Right on the Historic Main st when you getting in town
Cons:
No Hot food & breakfast selection (donuts would be nice)
No Icee /​slushes
No Service /​Repair shop
at times it feels little crowded inside, especially on the weekends. (i guess mostly people trying to use restrooms).

Holy sh*t! Do NOT come here! My sister and I popped in to use the restroom, and asked the attendant if it was in the back. He replied with, «are you a customer?»…
«Uhhm. Yes?»
«You buy something first, then you can use the bathroom.»
What.
My sister replied with, «I’ll use the bathroom, then buy something on the way out.»
This is where sh*t got real.
His reply?
«No, no! Get the f*ck out of my store!»
We looked at each other, incredibly confused, and even looked behind us to see if he was yelling at someone trying to steal a bag of chips/​candy/​soda/​lotto tickets-​but nope, he was def talking to us.
We couldn’t help but reply with, «do you not understand the concept of customer service? You can’t just treat people that way!»
Hell– do you not even understand the concept of being a human being?
At this point he called us a bitch, and gave us the finger-​more than once.
We literally couldn’t have gotten out fast enough.

Wow I had to give a review because we popped in to use the restroom and maybe grab a drink/​snack, but the employee berated us right after exiting the restroom, it was bizarre and totally out of line. He went off and was incredibly unprofessional, any desire to buy even a small item disappeared. AVOID this station no matter what, don’t give business to someone who has zero respect for others!
This place deserves zero stars and that guy has definitely got some bad karma coming his way.

Beyond rude employee! If I ran out of gas — I’d push my truck past this place and pay whatever amount more to get some gas! Do not stop here — for anything!!!

I just stopped here and used the restroom and as I walked out the employee called me a bitch and said fuck you! Wow! There are signs stating the restroom is for customers only. I had not paid for anything yet and sure as hell wasn’t going to after the guy was so out of line and rude!!! Next gas station it is!!! Avoid this place unless you want to be beyond irritated by getting called names by an asshole that has no idea what it is to be polite. To that asshole… I hope your life improves so that you aren’t such an unhappy loser stuck in a small town and angry with people for no good reason. Ps. Only reason I gave a star is because I had to give a rating…

Access to this Shell can get tricky depending on the day and time you get here. Placerville has a pretty antiquated stop sign and street light system at the intersection of several surface streets and US-​50. Take your time getting in and out of here as the road is curved and not all directions stop at all intersections. Bathrooms and food-​mart could be upgraded.
Gas prices here are about $ 0.10-$ 0.25 per gallon higher than in the valley.

We always stop here to fill up the tank and use the bathroom. The bathrooms are usually clean. Up until this last time. The toilet seat in the women’s room was wobbly/​broken. And the floor was very wet. EWW! The staff said there was a ton of people using them.
I always buy something from here to snack on during the rest of the drive. Don’t get the chicken and cheese Big Az burger. It’s gross!
I wish they had a bigger selection of fresh/​microwave food. But they don’t. They only have the 2 kinds of Big Az burgers and 2 kinds of burritos.
The staff is always nice here. I guess they’re used to everyone coming in to use the bathrooms.

This is a review for the mart at Shell, not the service station. It is right off the 50 in Placerville. On our way up, we got worried that chains would be necessary, so we stopped off to check out where we could get them.
2 stars for the guy who was helpful and looked at our tires to check what type of tire chain we needed.
2 stars also because he tried to rip us off. He mumbled the price REALLY fast as he walked back with it to the counter.
Us: how much is it?
Him: eightynineninetynine.
Me: what? did you say 89.99?
Him: yes, it has to be this one for your big tire.
Us: Oh hells no! *heads out door*
Him: I’ll give it to you for 70
Us: *continue walking*
Him: How about 60
I left at that point and the moms said he talked it down to $ 49.99
We ended up leaving anyways. (got it for 45.00 elsewhere! beeyotch)
