Going out of business!!! I came in during a quilting class nearby and purchased a few items. They did not tell me they were going out of business. I purchased several items and realized I had purchased some clover scissors I did not need. I attempted to return them today at another class and Cindy the owner would not allow returns or exchanges. It’s no real wonder that they are going out of business. Worst experience I have had in a long time. I’m very disappointed. They gave me no notice when I bought my items that there were no returns. Buyer beware!

I was there recently and not a single employee greeted me(5 were buzzing around) Even when I walked up to the desk to ask a question regarding polka dotted fabrics. I was told they don’t carry simple polka dotted fabric in a rather snappy tone. Then I made the mistake of asking about the classes, as that was the real reason I went to the shop… Boy the employee handed me a flier an told me to go online. Then turned her back to me and started to fiddle with whatever she was doing before I «interpreted» her. I felt like I was intruding. It’s saddening to me that I was so excited to go there and was treated so poorly. I had envisioned a warm friendly Enviroment like you see in the shops featured in the quilting magazines… Although my one star rating is for their custom service the actual shop is full of beautiful fabrics but I refuse to spend top dollar on the same fabric I could get online. With that being said I would much rather support a local shop than turn to the internet. I will go again once we’re in full fall mode… Maybe the outcome will be different but I will update after I visit again.

Friendly and helpful staff. The store is organized and well lit. I have visited a half dozen times or so and been pleased each time. I also took a class that I enjoyed and dropped off quilts that needed quilting and binding. All work was done well and on time.

This is a good quilting store: they have experienced help, a broad range of mostly excellent fabrics and quilting accessories, a large classroom, and many kits and finished quilts to use as reference. That said, the store still feels like a store, not a cozy quilting environment that invites you to stay awhile. The fabric and especially the accessories are pricey. You’re better off taking advantage of the frequent sales and buying your quilting tools on Amazon.

This is a very nice shop. The prices are a bit high, but the quality is good. The sales people are friendly enough without bring intrusive. The thing that bothers me about the store is that they have wonderful projects displayed, but most of the time they are out of the fabric used to make the project. If they are going to feature a fabric, they should keep it in stock or put the project away. It’s frustrating to fall in love with something and have them tell you they don’t have that fabric and don’t expect to get more of it.

I have visited this shop perhaps a dozen times in 3 years. It has nice lighting and selection of quilting fabrics. The quilting books are divided by topic and that is handy. Presently their prices for quality quilting fabrics is at the high end. Many bolts are now 11&12 dollars a yard. Today I brought a friend who had never been to this store. We were there for nearly 2 hours and not once were either of us approached and asked if there was anything that we were looking for nor help offered. The only time any of the 3 employees that were working on the floor spoke to us as at the cutting/check out tables. We just didn’t find the staff friendly whatsoever. This is a place to go in find what you need and get on home. If you’re a rank beginner you may find it to be intimidating. Don’t give up find a shop that welcomes you.

This is one of the best quilt stores in the area. I bought a Gammill Longarm from this store. This was a huge investment and I was cautious in deciding whether to buy a longarm. I have never been disappointed. The Gammill longarm is great, functions beautifully and I have gotten excellent service. Very minor problems have been addressed quickly and resolved. The lessons I recieved were through and gave me confidence. Beautiful store, with helpful staff.

This is one of my favorite quilt stores! Yes, their sales staff are very friendly and knowledgable and helpful! There is nothing worse than going to a store that has salespeople who have no idea what you’re talking about! And while I love helpful people, I love product! Calico House has the BEST fabrics and patterns. The store is so well organized and beautifully layed out, it is very easy to shop there. They hang a lot of store samples which are beautifully done. I probably spend more money as a result of these samples because they are so inspiring and beautifully done. I also would like to reccomend the classes, as they have some of the best classes and instructors. They’re classes are more than simple nine-patch quilt. They are beautiful and challenging in a good way! Definetely a must see store!
