Suburban Propane

Having been to a lot of places like uhaul that rank low on service and after reading all of the Unilocal reviews on Suburban Propane, I decided to give it a try.
First, I called to confirm they would _​not_​be on lunch. I found out they have two attendants now, and at least one is on duty. They never close for lunch. So, I headed over.
I pulled up along the curb near the filling area. Both attendants greeted me and were friendly and professional from beginning to end.
I’m taking one star away for the awkwardness of paying with a credit card inside, rather than outside at the kiosk.
Also, the prices here are fantastic.

Boy has this place gone downhill F-​A-​S-​T!!. Purchased all my LP needs for many years here. But with the high turnover rate of employees at the dock, lack of service parts, and poor management, I won’t be back. In fact I just went there last week looking for a simple o-​ring. Low and behold they didn’t have it in stock and the worker was only there a month. Note to Management: If you don’t carry parts in stock then you have nothing to sell! This is simply a filling station, don’t expect any service. In fact, I went to the front office to speak to a manager and the place is gutted. Don’t know if they are remodeling or canned the office staff. At this point, don’t know and don’t care.

This company is the greatest from the ladies in the office to the guys that installed the tank. I don’t know who trains them but other companies need to follow them around even the delivery man was fantastic. They are the true American business that is great from beginning to end. Give them a try you won’t regret it. I called other companies to install my tank they were rude and really didn’t care. Suburban Propane is one of the best customer service companies I have dealt with in 50 yrs.

I was looking for a place for to fill up 2 forklift tanks and one for my bbq. After looking for about half an hour I found this place on Unilocal and went to give it a try. It was easy to find and it was super fast to fill up. I will continue to come back here as it is closest to my job site.
I gave it three stars because of the service level. Within a minute of me arriving and asking the attendant if they fill tanks here he asked me to hurry up as he was closing in 3 minutes (for lunch). I was taken off guard by this and told him I’d only fill up one for now. It took less than a minute to fill up that one and I was almost expecting him to tell me to get the others, but that didn’t happen.
In my business I would lose customers if I, or my employees had this attitude. We wait for the customer and see their needs are met before we close up. I’ve stayed an extra hour doing this for my business. As I said before, I will go back here and perhaps with better service I will modify my review. For now, I need to go back there and waste my time when it would have been done if an employee had stayed a couple of minutes.

Arranging for a tank exchange can no longer be done online, and setting up by phone wasn’t as easy, but I found two full tanks on my patio the day after I called. Having the tanks brought to my house is convenient, but since the service called Grill-​On went away, it takes some patience to arrange. If you live near a tank exchange place, going there may be just as convenient as home delivery.

Huge propane facility with a local small town atmosphere, capable of meeting any of your propane needs. Tanks, cylinders, custom hoses and parts, as well as, the propane you need. With multiple forms of obtaining fuel be assured that they will never be out of gas. When some of the smaller independent companies are having difficulties keeping fuel in their storage, this yard will always have plenty of propane on hand. With a direct rail link, fuel will be on-​site even when others are unable to keep their storages filled by truck. Safe, affordable, available and professional — if you are in need of anything propane related and in the OC this is the place to go.

I went there for a hose, they did it why I waited, everyone there was very nice and what I wanted was perfect!

Why go to a retail facility when you can go to their source?
I have used Suburban propane to fill my forklift cylinders for over 16 years now and I use them for my BBQ grill cylinders as well. I am always greeted by friendly attendants who take the time to actually talk to you while your tanks fill. Their prices are great and the service is even better. I will continue doing business with them for years to come.
My only gripe is a matter of convenience. If you want to pay via credit card (as I usually do for my company fills) you can’t «pay at the pump» so to speak. They make you go inside and then have to wait for them to go through a lengthy process for them to run your card through some web-​based site. The whole process takes between five and seven minutes. On the bright side, the office staff is just as friendly as the two guys filling the cylinders.
